CORE COMPETENCIES
►Proven success leading the clean room production and manufacturing of precision equipment and laboratory
instruments in three different organizations.
►Created standardized processes that enabled a company to produce precision instrumentation under contract with
NASA for use in the space program.
►As a Head of Operations, manages delivery and the availability of customized and standardized components from
a variety of suppliers so that inventory costs do not impact profitability and production needs are met as they arise.
►Established track record of building and leading highly qualified cross-functional teams to support and run a
technologically sophisticated production environment.
►As a Project Manager, has led projects to both create new production lines as well as to relocate existing
production facilities while minimizing impact on ongoing operations.
►Strong financial budgeting and forecasting skill set with the ability to accurately map out both capital investment
and manufacturing costs. Has demonstrated the ability to quickly respond and revise forecasts as clients request
customizations that impact the production cycle.
SIGNIFICANT ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Precision/Sterile Production Management: At Dynex, led group of 25 staff producing fully automated medical
devices, including integrated walk away operating systems. Production involved a high degree of customization for
each purchaser and every step of the manufacturing process was subject to FDA and various international
regulations. Created, implemented and led continuous improvements in the production processes, which eliminated
all overtime for standardized products, a 5% reduction in run rates. Cut lead time from 6 - 8 weeks to under 4 weeks.
Process Transformation: At Dynex transformed the production process and culture from “Push” (build to stock) to
“Pull” (build to order) manufacturing. Introduced lean manufacturing techniques, one piece flow lines, a new barcode
system and cross trained staff. This created a flexible production environment and a control on overtime. Result was
an inventory accuracy rate of over 98% and cost basis of products was reduced by almost 50% over time.
Supply Chain Management: Combined purchasing of parts for new products with existing parts orders in the
Operations Group, moving away from R&D Groups. Standardized new part requirements, eliminated obsolete parts,
SENIOR MANUFACTURING EXECUTIVE
Highly experienced manufacturing leader with track record of success in running sophisticated
production facilities involved in the manufacture of high precision equipment. Strong skill set designing
lean manufacturing processes, including addressing supply chain and inventory issues. Proven ability to
reduce manufacturing costs as well as ensure the smooth transition from prototype to full production.

introduced supplier inventory management programs, established supplier lead times and offshored purchase of
certain high cost items. Reduced overall cost from R&D to manufacturing by 25%.
Team Building/Development: Responsible for relocation of Production facility to New York when Commonwealth
was acquired by Veeco. Only 1 of 17 production staff opted to relocate, so began recruiting new staff position by
position before shutting down Commonwealth facility. Built and conducted Clean Room environment as well as new
technology training for staff, including individualized training matrices and milestones. As a result, the new team was
ready to perform and production resumed in the new facility two weeks early. Team achieved their first quarter
production targets, adding an extra $500K to the revenue line.
Project Management – Bringing New Products On-Line: Led the cross functional team that brought a much
anticipated new product from prototype to full-scale production. Ensured manufacturing’s involvement with the R&D
Group at early stage so that the design and plan for every step was fully understood. Verified that the system design
met all applicable specifications and customer requirements; led transfer of knowledge and technology from R&D to
manufacturing; created procedures for ensuring quality and adherence to FDA regulations. This resulted in a smooth
transition to production and product went to market within established time line and budget.
Financial Budgeting and Forecasting: At Dynex was responsible for the financial operating and capital expense
budget for five departments. Contained within these budgets were forecasting of costs covering three major products
with 20 possible individual configurations involving over 50 assemblies and components. Created a system to
maintain six month advance forecasts and performed monthly and quarterly reviews against budget. Consistently
finished the year under budget with an average annual reserve of $200K.
