Garage Collapse, Jacksonville
When a Parking Garage collapsed during construction, Arc Surveying & Mapping was contracted
to perform a pre-debris removal scan of the collapsed structure, at a density adequate to
illustrate the existing condition and post scans of areas as debris is removed per the direction of
OSHA & Bracken Engineering. Horizontal and Vertical control points were set utilizing RTK
Trimble R8 Global Positioning System and referenced to North American Datum (NAD83)
Florida East, and North American Vertical Datum (NAVD88). Upon completion of the scans, the
data files were merged and provided in a point cloud format. AutoCAD 2D or 3D digital files
were furnished along with ASCII or xyz files of areas mapped from the scans. Laser Scan & RTK-
map deliverables Point clouds, limited line work.
