2. Would our lives be possible without plants and animals?
From the Oxygen we breathe, to the sparkling water
consume and soil, and our earliest tools, food, and clothing
- all come from flora and fauna. Even our fossil fuels are the
product of Palaeozoic Era ecosystems that seize the sun's
energy-the same energy that we are now using after billions
of years. Not to mention, not only individuals, but the
existence of several businesses who make a living upon
these natural resources. Yet progressively more, we fail to
recognize the millions of creatures with whom we
cohabitate, the wildlife upon whom our very survival is
dependent.
3. The indebtedness of wildlife goes afar
merely what they have given us. Wild
animals have their own intrinsic value, their
own reasons for existing.
4. Conservation projects are a means of preserving the
wildlife. Corporates must take initiatives to enforce
protection to threatened species on the planet;
regulate the illegal transport and trade of wildlife
products; curtail the demand for wildlife products
through education and awareness. Without corporate
commitment and involvement with the society as one
to stopping all elements of this crime, any effort to
protect our world's iconic species is doomed to fail.
5. There needs to be projects which inspire community
support and active participation for conservation. The
history shows that such campaigns have been
tremendously successful in creating enthusiasm for
conservation solution, and like a ripple effect,
empowering societies to make those solutions their
own. Shared efforts like these are not always stress-
free, and there will be bumps in the road. But they will
definitely be well worth the effort. At the end of the
day, our decision to unite boils down to one simple
question: will conservation come out ahead? We all
know that the answer will be a resounding yes.
