⮚ One of the issues of motorbike accidents is that people forget to
retrieve side stand, i.e. about 36 % of accidents are caused by
forgetting to retrieve the side stand
⮚ We propose an automated motorized side stand retrieving system

⮚ The side stand is used for supporting a parked motorcycle
⮚ When the driver starts the motorcycle, there may be a possibility that
they forget to release the side stand that will cause unwanted troubles
and accidents

⮚ Automating the retrieval of side stand using motor when user starts
two wheeler by self starting .
⮚ When the rider stops and switch off key of two wheeler, the side stand
will slide down

8. 6.Working Mechanism
Side stand Retrieval
◆ Initially rider start the key switch of two wheeler and th engine starts.
◆ At the time when the rider puts the gear, the side stand retrieves. i. e.
At the beginning when the engine starts,the neutral indicator on the
meter of two wheeler turns ON.
◆ When the rider puts the gear, the neutral indicator turns OFF.
◆ The relay's input coil is connected parallel to the neutral indicator.
After side stand retrieves,the circuit breaks using a limit push switch.

9. Sliding Down of Side Stand
◆ To slide down the side stand,input coil of another relay is connected parallel to
the circuit which passes through the key switch of bike to complete the circuit
of horn like equipments.
◆ So when we switch off the key switch,the relay's input coil current will stop.
◆ When the normally closed path of the circuit of relay closes ,the sliding down
of the side stand will takes place.
◆ And after the side stand reaches the maximum position, a limit switch fixed
near the maximum distance will break the circuit.

13. 8.Project Progress
⮚ Initially a frame of angle iron is constructed to hold the side stand
⮚ Then a Gear Box is constructed to reduce the speed of motor from
2400 rpm to 600 rpm
⮚ Gear Box is bolted to the frame
⮚ DC Motor with 2400rpm is attached to the driver shaft of the Gear Box
⮚ Side stand is attached to the drive shaft of the Gear Box having
600rpm
⮚ Electrical connections are on progress
⮚ The project will finish at 21st October 2019
