PROCEDURE
Perform hand hygiene
Warm the inhaler with a little hot water and pour the water out
Pour the boiled water below the air inlet
Add the drug ordered
Cork the inhaler
Turn the mouth piece away from the air inlet (sprout)
Plug the air inlet with a cotton

PROCEDURE
Wrap the piece of gauze around the mouthpiece of the inhaler
Wrap the inhaler in a towel and place it in a basin
Place the inhaler in front of the patient keeping the air inlet away from the patient
Remove the cotton from spout
Ask the patient to keep his mouth in the mouthpiece and breath in to receive the steam
and breath out removing his lips from the mouthpiece

Cover the patient with a blanket
Observe the patient frequently
Continue the treatment for 15-20 min
Keep the sputum mug and face towel near to the patient
Remove the inhaler on time and make the patient comfortable

Wipe the patients face and keep him warm and in the same room for at least am hour
Encourage the patient to cough out the secretions
Auscultate the chest again for the effectiveness of procedure
