A Memorable Day in My Life
I was standing on the rooftop,I could see endless rain pouring down and
splashing into the large puddles that now filled the road outside my home. I shivered
slightly and turned back to go down stairs I was all wet in rain and yeah it was getting
cold. Winter was coming and so was the most awaited day of my life, my
NUST(National University of Science and Technology)entrance test result was to be
announced tomorrow.
Six months have been passed since I finished my college,
yeah I still rememberthat last day of our college we were given a farewell party and
everyone was so happy and even sad. Yes sad because college life and all those
memorable moments finally came to an end. Happy because a great future was
waiting ahead of us for everyone. As I was walked through the rooftop and all these
thoughts were going through my mind a voice came which split all the thoughts in my
mind.
"Would you like to come down stair big boy? Dinner's ready" said my mom.
"I'll be there in a moment" I said.
As soon as I went downstairs I changed my clothes and went to the dinning table, I
was somewhat uneasy and restless.My mom noticed and she said,
"Don'tworry I know you won't disappointus"
"Yeah I won't" I said with a smile on my face
Easier said than done I always know my mother wanted me to be in a good
university she wanted me to be a hard working man throughout my entire life. As soon
as I was done with dinner I said goodnightto my mom and went to my bedroom to get
to sleep as tomorrow was a big day and I needed to wake up early in the morning. I
was laying in bed like for an hour but I couldn't sleep,my mind was swinging between
hope and fear. It was a strange stage of anxiety and expectation. Though I topped my
college and I knew everything would be fine as I had work really hard but I was not
sure what was allotted for me. Maybe it was because of the high expectations my
mother was having from me. Yeah it could have beenthe reason, she expected a lot
from me and it was her right to expect because she has scarified so much for me.
Though I went to sleep somehow.
It was 1st of November my entrance test result was to be declared today, I
had been waiting for the day with anxiety and curiosity. I got up six O'clock.I took bath
and prayed to Allah(S.W.T) to grant me success.The newspaper-boyhad not yet
come.The sand of time was running out. I was getting more and more restless.At last,

the newspaper-boycame shouting. I bought a paper from him. My hands were shaking
and heart throbbing. With trembling hands I opened the newspaper within a minute I
found out my Roll No. among the Top 50. I couldn't believed I was among the Top 50
students from all over Pakistan who had given NUST Entrance Test I thanked to
Almighty Allah for the successwhich he granted me. Then I ran to my mother and gave
her the good news. She was overwhelmed with joy.
The whole atmosphere of the house was at
once changed. Friends and relatives poured in to congratulate me. Tea and sweets
were served to all who came. Many of my relatives brought sweet-boxes forme. All
were in jolly and happy mood.My mother prepared nice dishes for the lunch. Two of
my friends were also invited to dine. Never before I was so happy.In the afternoon I
went to the school. I met the Head Master and other teachers. They all congratulated
me. Many other boys also came to school.We embraced with each other. Our joys
knew no bound. In midst of all rejoicing. I felt sorry for some of my friends who could
not do well in the entrance test.
