access shafts and Sprayed Concrete Lining (SCL) works for both Whitechapel and Liverpool Streetstation tunnels.
ROUTINE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.) Contract C510 - Crossrail Liverpool Street and Whitechapel Station Tunnels
Connecting the City, Canary Wharf, the West End and Heathrow Airport to commuter areas east and west of London, Crossrail is a
major new rail link project designed to provide a world-class, affordable railway with high frequency, convenient and accessible
services across the capital. The major construction works for C510 began in April 2011 and includes the construction of the Crossrail
Whitechapel and Liverpool Street Station SCL tunnels.
During Jeff’s employment in BBMV JV, Jeff has participated in this Crossrail project, currently the biggest civil and building project in
London, for over a year and gained first project experience in London as a Quantity Surveyor. Four of the world’s leading construction
companies have established BBMV, an integrated team to deliver major packages ofthe Crossrail Projectefficiently.

During Jeff’s employment in Gammon, Jeff has participated in this project for over 3 years and has appraised as a key player in the
project.
MeasurementWorks
Jeff was responsible for the measurement works for different nature of works in the Tolo Highway Project, e.g. Reinforced Concrete
Structure for bridges, noise barriers & retaining walls, Landscape Works, Earthworks, Road works and Slope Works. He has been
assigned to take lead as a supervising role for the measurement works of the above-mentioned works. Therefore, he has a strong
knowledge in adopting the Rules ofMeasurementand the Preambles to the contract works.

Jeffwas also responsible for forecasting final costs ofsubcontractpackages,plantand material for assuring the certainty of final costs
of the project.
Managementand administration ofthe Sub-Contractaccounts
Jeff has played a major role in the management and administration of the Sub-Contract accounts. He fully understood the entire
process from the tendering stage to the Final Account stage.
i.) Tendering Stage
Jeff was responsible for sub-letting the main contract works into differentsub-contract packages and he took the role to
decide the procurementmethod for differentsub-contractpackages.
Jeff also involved in preparing the tender documents, including Bills of Quantities, Drawings List, Specifications, Special
Conditions ofSub-Contract,Preambles and Tender Addendum etc.
ii.) Tender Analysis and Tender Report
Once the tenders have been returned,Jeffwas responsible for checking and analyzing the tenders returned and holding
tender interview meetings with tenderers for clarifying the scope of works and tender prices.
Subsequently, Jeff was responsible for preparing the tender reports on a fair and professional basis, which allow the
Senior Quantity Surveyor making the final decision for the tender award.
iii.) Sub-ContractDocuments
Jeff was solely responsible for preparing the Sub-Contract documents once the tender had been awarded. He is
familiarized with the legal procedure offorming sub-contractdocuments with the sub-contractors.
iv.) Interim Payments and Valuation of Variation
In order to manage the sub-contractors efficiently and to secure the adequate cash flow for continuing the sub-contract
works, Jeff assessed the progress of the sub-contract works and made monthly interim payments to respective
sub-contractors regularly. For some sub-contract packages with higher complexity, variation is more likely to occur. He
was responsible for dealing with those variations with the sub-contractors strictly according to the Sub-Contracts
Conditions.
