1. 5.) How did you
attract/address your
audience?
James Mclean
2. Has The Target Audience
Been Reached?
On the whole, I do believe
that the target audience has
been reached. We can tell
by looking at the statistics
from our post-production
questionnaire. With the
majority of the feedback on
the positive side, it would
seem that most of our
viewers have enjoyed our
film.
3. What helped us achieve this?
I think that there were a range of different factors that helped us to achieve
this, however the two main ones were the sound and music choices, along
with the glitch effect.
Countless hours were spent in the editing process trying to get the sound
to match the sequence on screen perfectly. From the cocking of guns to
the sound of Nolan breathing, all of these came together to provide a very
interesting opening to our film. I believe this is how we managed to hit our
target audience as well as we did.
4. What was less successful and
what could be improved?
Majority of the constructive criticism we received in our post-production survey
was that our audience did not know what was happening at points in the film.
We understand now that the plot could’ve been made a little clearer however it
was our initial intention to keep it this way. We wanted to make the audience
feel as if they were in the situation with Nolan, in his confused state of mind.
This way, they can be edged towards understanding what he is going through
and feeling empathy for him.
I think we could have improved this simply by spending a little more time in the
editing process on clearing a few things up such as the confusion that was
made over the clone and the main character. Some people said that they
initially couldn’t tell the difference between the clone and Nolan. With this in
mind, different costumes clearly weren’t obvious enough and we could have
spent a little time in Adobe After Effects to make the clone visually look like he
has been computer generated.
