2. On Tuesday we shot all our footage for our Irn-Bru advert with a DSLR and tripod. On
the shoot I learnt how to check the exposure on a DSLR and how to change the
settings on the DSLR throught settings, for example the frame size. Doing this project
helped me understand the importance of getting multiple takes of a single shot and
that even when I think I have enough takes I should get more. I learnt this because one
of the shots we took which was one of our most important shots was too fast for
anyone to see and understand what had happened and this was also of center and had
a hand in it and we only had two takes of this shot and both shots were too bad to
work with so the shot had to be cut from the advert entirely. In the editing process I
learnt how to cut to the beat of the music making my video run smoother and feel
more together. I also learnt how to color grade my footage using preset looks in
Premiere Pro. I also learnt how to use Photoshop and Premiere together to add text
onto the end of my advert by removing the background and putting it as a layer over
the video. This worked really well for the end of my advert and I also learnt a basic way
of making the text appear in my video. In Premiere I also learnt how to work with audio
and how to change the volume levels on the audio and how to make it fade out at the
end of my advert. When fading the audio out I matched it up with the video fading to
black so it ran more smoothly and was more appealing to the audience.
