2. Youth
Our Magazine in particular Targets to the younger generation. The reason for this is
because Hip-Hop (the genre we are going for) is largely dominated by younger artists
and viewers.
We involve iconic street wear clothing to grasp as specific target audience’s attention
which is mainly the younger generation, For example one of our models is wearing
supreme which is also seen on artists like Tyler The Creator. Another way we do this is
by involving Skateboarding which is a large part of the hip-hop culture
Skateboarding which originated on the street along side hip-hop which merges the
two in a way together. In conclusion its clear we are targeting young, fashionable,
skating teenage, men who spend …........................... time on the street
3. Language/Slang
One way in which we try to grasp the attention of the our target audience is by using
vulgar language and slang, for example In Hip-Hop
using vulgar language is acceptable and is very common, which is why a lot of the younger
generation use these words as the people they look up to do swell. For this reason we
thought we should use similar words to get our message across in our double page
spread.
Along side vulgar language slang is used a lot. We thought we should incorporate slang
like “I rock my fits” which is
terminology used by a
lot of the youth today swell as famous Hip-Hop artists when talking about clothing and
street wear.
Clothing brands are also referenced In the double page spread like The North Face and
Adidas which both are commonly worn by Hip-Hop artist and there listeners.
4. Social Media
Seeing as our target audience is of a younger generation we decided to
include social media icons. I myself use social media for many things along
side a lot of youths, for thing’s like music, videos, messages etc. For this reason
it attracts the younger generation as they are eye catching and throughout
everyday life.
Not only this it also show’s our audience that they can found us on multiple
different social media platforms which our target audience are interested in.
Even some of the artists in Hip-Hop
talk about these social media platforms
