4. SOLAR LAYOUT/SITE PLAN
Our solar layouts are
highly detailed and typically
ready for permitting. We
perform detailed shading
analysis. We take into
consideration OSHA safety
offsets and other fire and
code requirements during the
initial design.
After performing detailed
shading analysis, we
optimize panel placement,
azimuth, row offset and tilt
angle to maximize energy
production. Our designs
are based
around the panels, racking
and inverters that you
specify.
5. SOLAR LAYOUT/SITE PLAN
On your request, we can
suggest the best quality,
lowest cost hardware based
on our experience. After
maximizing the layout,
we can determine system
size, number of panels, size
of inverter and racking
requirements. We also
specify all major hardware on
the drawing provided.
For Engineering
Companies, EPC
contractors, PPA and
Architects we shall be glad to
put the layouts on your
branded drawing format.
6. ENERGY MODELLING
We use all the commercially
available software packages,
however we always recommend
that PVsyst be used, since this
has become the default
standard in the industry.
We don’t recommend PVWatts
as it has been known to be
inaccurate which may cause
problems with predicting
energy and providing energy
guarantees. It’s not only the
software, it’s the data and
assumptions you put in!
Just because someone knows
Photoshop, it does not make
them an artist! Assumptions on
panel soiling, snow conditions,
ambient temperature, wind,
panel cleaning schedule, panel
degradation, and electrical
losses are often overlooked and
result in poor modelling.
7. Using our expertise, we can
guide you through the
proper assumptions and
find the most accurate
weather data to use in your
modelling. Being too
conservative means fewer
watts, and a higher cost per
watt on your project. Being
too aggressive has the risk
of penalty if the project has
energy production
guarantees. The energy in
the afternoon is worth more
money, so we shift the
azimuth from the normal
due south to maximize
production in the afternoon.

8. ONE LINE DIAGRAMS
We provide highly accurate electrical one
line diagrams suitable for permitting and
construction. These include the specified
hardware, Tie-in connections, wire sizing
and other specifications.
9. THREE LINE DIAGRAMS
We provide electrical three line diagrams
suitable for permitting and construction.
10. DETAILED ENGINEERING
We also offer detailed designing of PV
Systems which include site plans, PV array
layouts, string diagrams, equipment layouts,
structural layouts and detailing, electrical one
line diagrams, three line diagrams, DC and
AC side wiring diagrams, voltage drop
calculations, wire sizing, deciding the balance
of system, installation and grounding details,
signage, labels, electrical notes, equipment
details, etc.
