Edtech startups competition - live pitches
Chair: Paul Bailey, senior co-design manager, Jisc. This is your opportunity to hear pitches from five of our nine shortlisted startups in the edtech startup competition, and to help us decide the final five that will enter our development programme. Each startup will deliver a three-minute pitch, telling you about their product or service, and how it can benefit teaching and learning. After each pitch, you will have the opportunity to give a score via a poll, accessible from our event app. Scores will be averaged, and then will be considered by our panel of experts when deciding the five successful startups. The startups pitching in this group are: Volo - Melissa Mitchell and Lotis Bautista Synap - James Gupta and Omair Vaiyani ThinkSmart - Rohin Aggarwal and Patrick Gleeson StuComm - Tim Butje and Nienke Beans Student Circus - Tripti Maheshwari and Dhruv Krishnaraj

- Every year, Jisc looks for early-stage startups who need help getting their market-ready edtech product seen by universities and colleges. We have shortlisted 9 startups to take part in this year’s competition 5 winners will be decided via live pitches and a panel interview Successful startups will receive expert mentorship and funding to help develop their product This is part of Jisc’s Edtech Launchpad project
- There are 5 startups pitching in this session: Volo Synap Think Smart Stucomm Student Circus Each startup will give you a 3-minute pitch, telling you about their product or service, and how it can improve UK education and research You can feedback your appreciation on each startup via our voting process (more on that in a moment) The results of that vote will be given to our expert panel to consider when making their decision on our 5 winners The winners will be announced at the drinks reception in Hall 3 this evening Voting can be done via a live link in the Digifest App Go to the session ‘edtech startup competition – live pitches’ on the Innovation Stage In the session synopsis, there will be a link that you can follow, with a simple voting form You can vote on each startup, giving them a score of 1-5
