The five senses are sight, hearing, touch, taste, and smell. Sight involves the eyes and structures like the iris, pupil, and eyelids that allow us to see. Hearing relies on the cochlea and auditory nerves in the ear. Touch is mediated by skin structures like the epidermis, dermis, blood vessels, hair follicles and sweat glands that give us the sense of touch.
