units, and design and
upgrade of water and
sewerage systems.
3. CU@School Post Evaluation Exercise
CLIENT: SNV World
TIMELINE: Oct 2011—Dec 2011
• This was aimed at investigating the
impact of the use of mobile
telephony monitoring and reporting
of teacher and pupil attendance in
100primary schools in three districts
of Uganda. Results from this study
informed key decision makers in the
education sector in Uganda on the
practicality of the approach, any cost
efficiencies achieved, and the
feasibility of scaling up the use of
GSM and GPRS technology in tracking
teacher and pupil school
attendance..
4. Jinja Dam Inspection (Underwater Civil
Engineering Structures at Nalubaale)
• CLIENT: Eskom Uganda Ltd
• TIMELINE: 2011-2012
• A consortium of Interface
Consulting and Bridgezone, a
UK based Civil Engineering
consultancy firm was
contracted by Eskom Uganda
Ltd to carry out the inspection
of the 60-year-old Nalubaale
Dam famously known as Owen
Falls Dam. The purpose of the
inspection was to determine
the structural integrity of the
dam and to propose remedial
works.
5. Technical Support: Programme Monitoring
and Evaluation of Civil Society Support
• CLIENT: DFID Uganda
• TIMELINE: 2 Years
• Interface provided technical
support to the DFID to enable
them to better collate and
analyse lessons learned from
voice and accountability
interventions they had
supported throught their Civil
Society Umbrella Programme
between 2005 and 2010 in
which 5Million Pound
Sterling had been channeled
to 28 civil society
organizations.
6. Design and construction supervision of
Mbale Central Market
• CLIENT: Ministry of Local
Government
• TIMELINE: 2 Years
• Interface was contracted to
prepare detailed engineering
designs, bid documents and to
provide tender assistance and
construction supervision
services for the reconstruction
of Mbale Central Market in
eastern Uganda. Construction
of Mbale Central market is
ongoing and we are currently
supervising the selected
contractor.
