Key elements in the process
• More than 20 years of experience in Transmilenio
• Political will of upgrading public transport system to lower emissions fleet, considering costs,
quality and social benefits
• Economical support from central sector
• It was a very hard process, but in each fall, we were clear that we had to continue to meet
the goal we had set for the project
• Capacity to recognize that the context was different every time and that we had to adapt to
it
• Capacity to make big changes
• Multidisciplinary team working side by side
• Permanent conversation with private sector, financial entities, insurance companies and
other stakeholders
• Key partners from the energy sector
