Analysis Of The Film Lion
Lion The 2016 film Lion, which was first a book called "A Long Way Home", is a film where a boy named Saroo was separated from his brother in
the train station, which leads to Saroo getting on a train taking him thousands of miles away from his family and his home. Saroo, who was only
five–years–old when he got lost, had to learn to survive alone in Kolkata, West Bengal. Days after arriving to Kolkata, the city the train left him at, he
got admitted into an orphanage, which later turned out to him getting adopted by an Australian couple. But twenty–five years later, he starts to wonder
where his first home and family are at the moment. With only his memories, determination, and Google Earth he starts looking and searching where his

years looking for his biological family, drops out of school, and becomes very distant with his family and Lucy. One day Saroo then invites his
family to his house to see all the search that he has done looking for his biological family because he had finally found where he first lived. He then
travels to Ganesh Talai, where he first lived and saw his mother and other family friends who were so happy to see him. The Oscar nominee movie,
Lion, is a film based on home and identity. The film is about a boy who gets lost from his birth home and family and later on during his life he
becomes obsessed with tracking down his birth family. Throughout the movie, they show us how much reconnecting with his real family means to
Saroo, yet being close and connected with his adoptive parents is also very important to him. During the movie, Saroo states "Do you have any
idea what it's like knowing my real brother and mother spending every day of their lives looking for me? Huh? How every day my real brother
screams my name? Can you imagine the pain they must be in not knowing where I am?" After Saroo gets frustrated with his friends about not
knowing where his own real family is, he spends two years of his life in secrecy searching most of India on Google Earth to find where

Essay about The Impossible: Movie Analysis
I've seen this movie and I would like to give my opinion about it. The impossible is a movie based on a true story. This story is about a family, Maria,
Henry and their three sons Lucas, Thomas and Simon. They went on Christmas vacations to Thailand but after a few days the Indian Ocean earthquake
created a tsunami that flooded the area with overwhelming destructive power.
As the tsunami hit the hotel where they were staying at, everything disappeared. Maria was underwater for about 3 minutes and after she surfaced
and clung on a tree she noticed that Lucas was going away with the currency of the water. Maria reached her son and started walking to a safe place
but she was seriously injured; it was hard for her to move and she barely had...show more content...
After she recovered of her surgery they went home in a helicopter.
I think that the whole family is amazingly strong because even though they lived a catastrophe they went through different things and they did the
best they could. Starting with Lucas, he helped his mom and other people to find their families. Thomas took care of Simon when they were sent
away even though he was just 7 years old. Henry had to leave his two little boys to search for Maria and Lucas and Maria despite she was injured she
fought for her life and was always worried about Lucas.
The scene where I got goosebumps and I liked the most was when Lucas, Thomas and Simon reunited with their dad. I liked the part where Lucas
held Maria's hand and told her that Daniel was with his dad and that he looked very happy. I didn't like the part were Thomas and Simon were sent
away with the rest of the kids that were alone even though Henry had to leave them so it could be easier for him to look for Maria and Lucas I think
it was a very hard decision because he didn't really know what could had happened to them.
I really enjoyed the movie because it is a true story. It shows us how your life can change in a blink of an eye. We don't have anything guaranteed
that's why it's important to enjoy what we have and not worry about the things that what we don't. That family showed us to never give up, you have to

Movie Analysis of Grease Essay
Movie Analysis of Grease In this paper I am going to write about the movie "Grease." Specifically, on the two main characters Sandy and Danny. I will
be describing and analyzing their interpersonal communication, but mainly on the conflict of their communication. At the beginning they Sandy &
Danny start off with a great relationship. They meet at the beach during summer break. Thinking they would never see each other again they went
their separate ways. But Sandy ends up moving and goes to the same high school as Danny. They don't know that the other is at the same school until
Rizzo, one of the "pink ladies" introduces them to on another at the football pep rally. This is when all the conflict starts. Danny and Sandy are so

Danny attempts to impress Sandy by jumping over hurdles but he trips and falls, but Sandy runs to his aide to check to see if Danny is ok. He

accepts, but states that she did not appreciate the way he treated her the other night. They decide to go to the local restaurant, but before they go in
Danny states that he does not want to go in because he does not want people to bother them. And so he says that he would rather go to a place
where they could have some privacy. Before they have a chance to leave friends see Danny and Sandy outside and they come out to see them. Sandy
asks he Danny would like to come and have tea with her and her family, but Danny replies he don't like tea. And moments later the two of them leave.
The two go to the dance together and are getting along great, until one of Danny's ex–girlfriend's arrives with one of his buddies. Sandy asks how he
knows this girl and he states it's "a friend of the family." Next, Sandy is whisked away from Danny and this ex–girlfriend begins to dance with him.
Sandy being visually upset runs out of the gym and leaves. Danny realizing what has happened but continues to dance. Sandy and Danny decide to go
and see a movie, and he tells her he is sorry about what happened at the dance. She states she still thinks that

Movie Analysis : The Movie ' Moana '
Introduction
When most people think about Disney movies, their mind often goes to the stereotypical princess movies in which the protagonist wears a pink ball
gown. Time and time again these princesses must fight their way through the story in a luxurious ball gown in order to end up with a prince. However,
there are many Disney movies that work to challenge these gender stereotypes. The movie Moana is a recent example of a Disney production that
works to break the imposed stereotypes placed on children from an early age.
The Moana movie poster in itself is a perfect example of challenging gender expectations. Through the look at the target audience, color, and the context
of the poster, one can better understand how Moana challenges...show more content...
The inspiration young girls may gather from the movie poster is amplified by the text above Moana's head. "Brave Like the Sea." This text implies
that Moana is as brave as the sea, something not often portrayed by other advertisements. "Brave" is a word often applied to males only, leaving
females completely out of the narrative that they could ever exhibit this trait. However, this poster flips the switch and boldly states that a female is
capable of being brave, and provides a strong example for the audience.
Color
Along with taking on an athletic role, Moana goes against gender stereotypes with her clothing. Typically, Disney assigns various shades of pink or
other societally feminine colors to their characters. Moana however, wears a bold red shade. This is significant as not only is it not considered a
feminine color, but it is a color associated with bravery and heroism. Disney's decision to place Moana in red, matches with the text provided on the
movie poster. The poster itself is mostly three colors: the blue of the sea, Moana's red clothing, and the white text. Focusing on the background of the
poster, the blue is significant in itself. Blue is heavily considered to be a male color, which can be seen as early as birth when babies are wrapped either
a pink or blue blanket depending on their sex. The blue in the poster also goes back to the oar in Moana's hand. Like mentioned earlier, vigorous water
sports are typically

Today's world requires leadership to compete and succeed. The rapidly changing conditions in the workplace demand adaptive leadership styles, and
the success of an organization relies on leaders evaluating and applying effective leadership styles before workplace failures occur. The Disney's
animated movie "The Lion King" portrays a combination of leadership styles and changing conditions. We chose to analyze Mufasa, King of Pride
Rock, and explain his use of the Path–Goal Theory and its different leadership approaches based on who he was leading and the situation. Additionally,

The theory asserts that there are five main forms of power: Reward, Referent, Legitimate, Expert, and Coercive. These five bases fall into two
categories: Personal Power, which results from a leader's individual characteristics, and Positional Power, which stems from the leader's
hierarchical position2. Mufasa was more successful in leading his subordinates when he used personal power as opposed to when positional
power. For example, Mufasa succeeded in teaching Simba to pounce, using a referent relationship with Simba as well as his own expertise in
pouncing to guide his son4. He however failed as a leader when he commanded Simba not to explore the elephant graveyard5 (see Exhibit 3). He
would have been more effective if he provided expert reasoning to Simba in a friendly tone, and explained that there were ruthless and murderous
hyenas that lived in graveyard. French and Raven's Five Principles of Social Power offer a useful insight into Mufasa's successful and unsuccessful
leadership of the Pride Rock Kingdom.
Zazu acted as a counselor to Mufasa in the same way Tom Hagen did to The Don. They had a relational and psychological contract between them, in
addition to a trusting relationship. Zazu portrayed all three components of trustworthiness to Mufasa – competence in the way he carried out his tasks,

Infection: Movie Analysis
My grandma made us all lunch. After we ate we sat in the living room, watching a movie. After about 15 minutes of arguing on the genre of movie
we finally decided on a horror called Infection. A movie I have been wanting to see. Since there is only one couch we decided to let my grandma
stretch out on the couch. Hikari found some blankets and pillows for us, so we could be more comfortable. We laid out the blankets on the floor and
got comfortable, while Hikari put the movie in. After we were all comfortable, we turned the lights off, closed the curtains, and started the movie.
Horror movies are always better in the dark. About 20 minutes into the movie I looked over to my left. Cameron and Chanyeol were cuddling. They

Whiplash Film Analysis
Damien Chazelle's critically acclaimed American drama film Whiplash (2014), presents a thought–provoking and confronting depiction of volatile and
manipulative relationships, in which Andrew Niemen, a young ambitious jazz drummer is pushed to the brink of his ability and sanity by his ruthless
teacher, Terence Fletcher. Nieman's passion to achieve perfection quickly spirals into an obsession. Whiplash proving highly popular with audiences

However, now Neiman's gradual spiral into an obsession for greatness has driven him to breaking point. The car crash scene is the turning point in
Nieman's character. His pursuit of perfection and greatness has blinded him. At this point Neiman has lost his old self completely, his dialogue is
arrogant and hostile, he no longer cares for his band members or anything apart from greatness. His gradual change of behaviour is evident through
his dialogue 1:03:28 when Nieman is on the telephone to one of his band members, he starts cursing and using profane language, similarly to Fletcher.
Drumming has become his life, he is no longer concentrated on being a good person instead he is focused on being remembered, as demonstrated after
the car accident, Nieman is determined to succeed and please Fletcher, thus continuing to play. As he plays every excruciating beat, his blood drips onto
the drum set; representing the pain that he is willing to go to achieve success. Neiman's madness is stopped by Fletcher's two words: "You're done".
Along with lighting and dialogue, the volatile and manipulative relationship between Fletcher and Nieman is explored through Chazelles use of
cinematography.
Music, editing, and camera angles are used by Chazelle to explore the effects of a volatile and manipulative student–teacher relationship. The
cinematography and music used throughout the scene intensify the volatile relationship

Analysis of the Film Thelma and Louise Essay
1.Definition of the catalyst of the film "Thelma and Louise"
The catalyst moment in the screenplay is when Louise shoots Harlan. The incident, when Harlan is assaulting Thelma, set the first dramatic moment.
This major event is the twist that provokes the action to escalate to the next act. In outrageous behavior, with suppressed feelings about her past, Louise
relapses. She defends her friend, and at the same time, reacts to the memories of abuse she suffered, consequently, making justice for both.
2.Why is this the catalyst, and how does it serve the story?
This catalyst is set up to promote tension, which shows Louise's behavior, while awakening Thelma is from her ordinary reality as a housewife. At that
moment that Louise shoots...show more content...
Sad endings, like Thelma and Louise's story, is now proving to be exceptional, because their journeys were exhausting. There were valuable messages
broadcasted throughout the acts.
However, the most important message was the importance of friendship, with the development of an unbreakable bond, love, and trust between two
friends. This is a story of two women with a keen desire to encourage one another and beautifully inspired many others in the process.
Act One: The Weekend Trip
The desire to escape reality to have fun is the dominant intentional plan. The simple gateway plans to stay at a Louise manager's cabin for the
weekend. The major foreshadowing in the first act is when Thelma puts a gun in her purse for protection. The first plot is when Harlan attacks
Thelma, at the parking lot, and she resists his advances. Harlan aggressively slaps her. She asks him to stop, but instead he hits her, and proceeds to
rape her. Next, Louise shows up and points the gun at him, and Thelma walks away with Louise. Then, Harlan makes some remarks; Louise turns
around and shoots him.
Act Two: Running Away
They are alarmed by the incident. They are no longer having fun; instead, they are concerned about being found guilty of a murderer, a crime
committed in self–defense. They decide to run away and accept their

Today, the movie industry has become a huge moneymaker in the entertainment business. You cannot turn on the television without seeing
advertisements for the next big blockbuster film. While most of the films these days entertain with amazing special effects or raunchy comedy, there
are still films that thrive because of great acting, directing, and editing. Three films that I believe would be great examples of the way these aspects
can cause a film to excel are ?Any Given Sunday?, ?The Cell?, and ?Almost Famous?. ?Any Given Sunday? shows how, by using editing, a movie can
portray an intense situation realistically. In ?The Cell?, color is used to differentiate between how we see things in reality and how...show more content...
Panning shots of cheering fans and screaming coaches along with occasional shots of the game being broadcast on a television with commentators
giving their take on the action send the viewer back to the reality that they are only watching the action and not participating in it. While watching this
movie you truly feel like you are in the game.
?The Cell?, instead of focusing on accurately portraying reality, takes you to the dream world. Catherine Deane, played by Jennifer Lopez, is a
child psychologist involved in an experimental project that allows her to travel inside the mind of coma victims to try to draw them away from
their fears and thus out of their coma. This movie portrays the journey inside the mind much like you would depict a dream. When Deane is inside
a young child, whose main concern seems to be a fear of the ?boogie man?, the world she enters is a beautiful desert scene where the sky is bright
blue with puffy white clouds. She is always dressed in bright white dresses and seems to glow. This depicts that she has earned the child?s trust. All
color is brighter in this dreamlike world. Even though these experiments had not been successful bringing the child out of the coma, Dean was able
to learn a lot about the child. This caused a couple of detectives to approach her about entering the mind of a serial killer who had slipped into a coma
with the goal of discovering the location of his most recent captive.

Descriptive Essay About A Movie
I had just gotten off work and I was running around frantically trying to find the perfect outfit for a movie date, I didn't want to be too dressed up, but
also not in a t–shirt and shorts, like I usually am. My parents wouldn't let me leave until they got to meet Garrett, the guy who was taking me out to
the movies. I was super nervous they weren't going to like him because of his interests. So I send Garrett a text saying that my parents wanted him
to come into the house so they could meet him. My dad is very blunt and doesn't know how to control himself sometimes, but I asked him to be nice
and if he had any comments to keep them to himself, and thankfully, he did, but he snuck in "what? Does he need a pair of your jeans?" right before
Garrett walked through the front door. Garrett is a guy who wears skinny jeans everyday, literally, everyday and he has curly shaggy hair, which I think
suits him perfectly.
It was completely silent majority of the car ride, besides the music playing the background. I think it would have been a little less awkward if we had
the same music tastes, but unfortunately, we did not. He is into screamo songs, and I'm more into hip/hop and pop. We talked a little here and there,
and finally arrived to the town Union, where we would be seeing the movie. We got there super early, like almost an hour early, so we looked up
back roads to drive on to waste our time. While we drove around waiting on our movie, we got to talk about ourselves. I would ask

The Good Son: Movie Analysis
In the movie The Good Son, Mark (Elijah Wood) stays with his relatives while his father is away on business. Throughout the movie, Mark
befriends his corrupted cousin Henry (Macaulay Culkin), who then persuades Mark to perform dangerous tasks. Henry commits hazardous actions,
including throwing a dummy off a bridge, causing a car pileup, and he flings his sister off a frozen lake into the frigid water(Joseph Ruben n.pag.) .
The Good Son acquired an " R" rating because studios did not want children to see heroic Culkin in such a nefarious role (Terror Tuesday: R–Rated
Films That Should Have Been PG–13 n.pag.). Due to this unfair rating, it leaves us to ponder: how crooked is the rating system and what other movies

According to This Film Is Not Yet Rated, some of the "anonymous" MPAA members work for the 6 major movie studios (Dick n.pag.). Hiring
workers from movie studios ensure favoritism and that movies will receive a less strict rating, opening the film to larger audiences. Having a larger
audience will increase profit, benefiting the movie studios. In studies, gay sex receives a higher censorship than straight sex shot with a similar scene
(Apecsec.org n.pag.). Giving straight sex a lower censorship than gay sex demonstrates that the rating system is homophobic and biased. Requirements

female appearances in fictional media (Tv.tropes.org n.pag.). The Bechdel test is sexist and not necessary; a movie should not be rated based off the
genders that the movie consists of.
Movie ratings are biased and broad, but they are good guidelines for parents. Many parents base if their child can view a movie off of the rating a
movie obtains. However, movie ratings are no longer important. The MPAA was created for parents to know what their kids are watching. Kids are
going to be exposed to violence, drugs, sex, and foul language through life, not the movies. Everybody develops differently, and many kids are raised

The Host: Movie Analysis
The way I see is that Americans are truly the villain in The Host. Americans do illegal, dangerous actions in Korean, which causes the monster, so
Koreans did not like and support how the US operates in their country. For example, in the opening scene, an American ordered his Korean
subordinate to dump all the dusty bottle into Han river. It is so crazy and irresponsible. Through the rest of the movie, there is an American doctor with
a cross–eyed. That character looks like an idiot, and by extension make the country he represents look idiotic too. Finally, when the US Military in the

The importance and symbolism of this theme is food. Food is important part of national identity. It is also an important part of Korean culture. For
example, Gang Do worried that his daughter might not have anything to eat. Huyn Seo and Se–joo discussed what they will eat after getting out the
sewer. At the end, Gang Do and Se Joo (his new son) are at the food home. They were watching television and eating the dinner. However, Se Joo said
that there is nothing good on the the news and asked his father to turn off the TV. Then, they can enjoy their dinner. I think it is the message that the
director wants to send to Korea. Koreans should focus and remain the culture of South Korean instead of consuming America culture.
The film handle humor and horror sides by Gang Do character. The conversations between Gang Do and other characters are often funny. There are
multiple scenes that Gang Do make audiences to go for a laugh even there are serious scenes. For example, when the family was at a memory for the
monster's victim, they were crying at her picture. That scene makes audiences to feel sorry or terrible, but it also makes audiences to laugh. The point
of blending humor and horror is dialogues. Zombieland by Ruben Fleischer is one of the movies that blend the two

Movie Analysis : Film And Film Genre Essay
There are many different types of film and film genres. A film can fit into more than one genre, but there are some genres that are more general than
others. Some examples of film genre are animated, science fiction, documentary, comedy, and historical fiction. Within each genre, there are also
specific characteristics that help support themes and story lines within that genre. An animated movie is a drawing, painted, or digitally created film
that uses stop–frame cinematography to simulate movement. The best example of an animated movie is Spirited Away. This film came out in
2001 and was directed by Hayao Miyazaki. The film revolves around Chihiro, a girl who must grow up quickly and save her parents from a spirit
world. The theme of the film is that there is both good and evil in the world and part of growing up is finding the line between good and evil. In
almost every animated film you will find a family friend theme and a fast paced story. This is mainly because most animated films are aimed toward
children and families. As a result of this, animated films usually revolve around growing up and taking responsibility, or other themes that will benefit
children. Spirited Away is the best example of an animated movie because it is fast paced, has great themes, and is engaging to both children and
adults. When children watch Spirited Away they will love the themes or growing up and taking responsibility and exploring the fantasy world inside
the film. Adults will also

Mehta's Films The film Water (2005) was hard for me to watch. The social status of females that are widows was a heartbreaking, emotional and

stripping all of the innocence, self–esteem and life out of this child. Chuyia finds a friend in ashram Kalyani, a young beautiful girl that is used as a

Genre theory is used to study films and put them into a classification so that audiences know what type of film it is before they see it. Genres are
categories based on the story of the film, sometimes the actors and actresses, or even the directors. All films fall under a genre or sub–genre category.
Romantic Comedy is an example of a genre which is light–hearted, humorous story involving people in love, sometimes overlapping with subgenres
such as screwball comedy teen comedy, or gross–out comedy. ( Goodykoontz & Jacobs, 2014, table 4.1). This paper will focus on the romantic
comedy genre and movie Rocky. It will take a better look at the specific conventions of this genre and how this movie fits the gangster genre.
Romantic comedy films create a comic climate through a series of cues to the audience: subject matter is treated as trivial, jokes and physical humor
make fun of events, and characters are protected from harm (Grindon Leger (2015). Romantic comedy films usually have a couple that meet and fall in
love in some way throughout the movie. In the movie Rocky Sylvester Stallone as Rocky meets Adrian at the pet shop and realizes she is the women
he wants to be with. Rocky is a want to be boxer at the time who wants to be a professional boxer and knows Adrian's brother from the gym. When
Rocky sees Adrian through the window of the pet shop he uses the excuse that he buys a fish and asks her out. Adrian agrees and she is a very
bashful lady, she dresses and looks very homely. Rocky and Adrian starting dating and she supports him through his boxing career. The couple falls
in love and they get married. Adrian starts dressing nice and gets contacts to the point you see her transform into a beautiful lady by the end of the
film. The genre of Romantic comedy is pairing two individuals into a couple with some comedy which Rocky proves to have. The comedy part
would be where Adrian asks Rocky why he boxes and he says "because he can't dance or sing". Throughout the film there are little conventions to
show the comedy. The film Rocky the first convention would be the setting. In the film it is set in 1976 in the low income part of Philadelphia. This
shows the Rocky and Adrian started out

12 Years a Slave
The movie В«12 Years a slaveВ» is based on the book В«12 Years a SlaveВ» by Soloman Northup. It's his life story of how he got lured in a trap and
kidnapped in 1841. It's about how he was sold into slavery in the south, and what happened during those 12 years a slave .
The movie was released in 2013, but the book was first published in 1853. The setting of the movie was in the US, mostly in the states New York and

The film was directed by Steve McQueen, he's also known for directing the movies В«HungerВ»(2008) and В«ShameВ»(2011).

than himself. He discriminates her infront of the slaves.
Human trafficking is because that's what they've did when they kidnapped Soloman and brought him somewhere else to sell him as a slave.
The plot is not presented in a chonological way. It starts off with him as a slave, and then it goes back to how he actually became one.
I found to symbols that I remember most. The first one is when he breaks the violin that he's written his familys name on. I take that as a symbol of
him loosing hope. Giving up. He no longer believes he'll get home again, safe with his family.
The second symbol is

Analysis Of Two Documentaries Essay examples
Analysis Of Two Documentaries
I will be analysing two very different types of documentary, 'Dogtown and the Z–Boys', which takes the role of being a full length movie type
documentary, and 'Teenage Transsexuals' which was recently shown on Channel 4.
'Dogtown and the Z–Boys' is a documentary which takes a look at the transformation of surfing into skateboarding. The film follows the evolution of
skating through it's heyday in the 70's, to it's decline in the 80's, and then back upto it's popular return in the 90's. It also follows the Zephyr team, a
high profile surf/skate club which revolutionised the skating industry right upto the present day. The film is written and produced by Stacy...show more

The narrator uses mostly factual information and few opinions which makes the film feel fairly personal. The narrator hypes up what otherwise be
quite a dull and unexciting film by using exaggeration and sarcastic humour in some places.
The documentary is informative, as the reader would otherwise probably not be aware of 'Dogtown and the Z–Boys'. But it informs in an entertaining
fashion with a popular, interesting soundtrack and an original editing/camera technique.
Dogtown and Z–Boys uses all of John Corner's central elements of documentary and most of documentaries typical codes and conventions.
The film contains lots of areas of observation, mostly showing the boy's when they are young and just starting out. This is unseen observation because
the camera is ignored by the people taking part in the event which is being shown. This method places the viewer in the role of being an eye–witness.
A narrative is used over this type of observation throughout the film to explain and describe what is taking place.
Interviews are also used throughout the film to make it more in depth and realistic. The interviews used are there to establish truth and fact of what's
happening on screen. Eye witness/expert testimonies from the original members of the Zephyr Team are used to validate the things which are being

Analysis Of The Film Lion

  • 1. Analysis Of The Film Lion Lion The 2016 film Lion, which was first a book called "A Long Way Home", is a film where a boy named Saroo was separated from his brother in the train station, which leads to Saroo getting on a train taking him thousands of miles away from his family and his home. Saroo, who was only five–years–old when he got lost, had to learn to survive alone in Kolkata, West Bengal. Days after arriving to Kolkata, the city the train left him at, he got admitted into an orphanage, which later turned out to him getting adopted by an Australian couple. But twenty–five years later, he starts to wonder where his first home and family are at the moment. With only his memories, determination, and Google Earth he starts looking and searching where his small...show more content... Saroo's friends suggest him to research things that will help him figure out where his biological family might be. Saroo then spends the next two years looking for his biological family, drops out of school, and becomes very distant with his family and Lucy. One day Saroo then invites his family to his house to see all the search that he has done looking for his biological family because he had finally found where he first lived. He then travels to Ganesh Talai, where he first lived and saw his mother and other family friends who were so happy to see him. The Oscar nominee movie, Lion, is a film based on home and identity. The film is about a boy who gets lost from his birth home and family and later on during his life he becomes obsessed with tracking down his birth family. Throughout the movie, they show us how much reconnecting with his real family means to Saroo, yet being close and connected with his adoptive parents is also very important to him. During the movie, Saroo states "Do you have any idea what it's like knowing my real brother and mother spending every day of their lives looking for me? Huh? How every day my real brother screams my name? Can you imagine the pain they must be in not knowing where I am?" After Saroo gets frustrated with his friends about not knowing where his own real family is, he spends two years of his life in secrecy searching most of India on Google Earth to find where Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Essay about The Impossible: Movie Analysis I've seen this movie and I would like to give my opinion about it. The impossible is a movie based on a true story. This story is about a family, Maria, Henry and their three sons Lucas, Thomas and Simon. They went on Christmas vacations to Thailand but after a few days the Indian Ocean earthquake created a tsunami that flooded the area with overwhelming destructive power. As the tsunami hit the hotel where they were staying at, everything disappeared. Maria was underwater for about 3 minutes and after she surfaced and clung on a tree she noticed that Lucas was going away with the currency of the water. Maria reached her son and started walking to a safe place but she was seriously injured; it was hard for her to move and she barely had...show more content... After she recovered of her surgery they went home in a helicopter. I think that the whole family is amazingly strong because even though they lived a catastrophe they went through different things and they did the best they could. Starting with Lucas, he helped his mom and other people to find their families. Thomas took care of Simon when they were sent away even though he was just 7 years old. Henry had to leave his two little boys to search for Maria and Lucas and Maria despite she was injured she fought for her life and was always worried about Lucas. The scene where I got goosebumps and I liked the most was when Lucas, Thomas and Simon reunited with their dad. I liked the part where Lucas held Maria's hand and told her that Daniel was with his dad and that he looked very happy. I didn't like the part were Thomas and Simon were sent away with the rest of the kids that were alone even though Henry had to leave them so it could be easier for him to look for Maria and Lucas I think it was a very hard decision because he didn't really know what could had happened to them. I really enjoyed the movie because it is a true story. It shows us how your life can change in a blink of an eye. We don't have anything guaranteed that's why it's important to enjoy what we have and not worry about the things that what we don't. That family showed us to never give up, you have to fight for Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Movie Analysis of Grease Essay Movie Analysis of Grease In this paper I am going to write about the movie "Grease." Specifically, on the two main characters Sandy and Danny. I will be describing and analyzing their interpersonal communication, but mainly on the conflict of their communication. At the beginning they Sandy & Danny start off with a great relationship. They meet at the beach during summer break. Thinking they would never see each other again they went their separate ways. But Sandy ends up moving and goes to the same high school as Danny. They don't know that the other is at the same school until Rizzo, one of the "pink ladies" introduces them to on another at the football pep rally. This is when all the conflict starts. Danny and Sandy are so ...show more content... Danny attempts to impress Sandy by jumping over hurdles but he trips and falls, but Sandy runs to his aide to check to see if Danny is ok. He asks her about having a date for the "big dance" but she states "No". At this point Danny takes the opportunity to ask her to go with him and she accepts, but states that she did not appreciate the way he treated her the other night. They decide to go to the local restaurant, but before they go in Danny states that he does not want to go in because he does not want people to bother them. And so he says that he would rather go to a place where they could have some privacy. Before they have a chance to leave friends see Danny and Sandy outside and they come out to see them. Sandy asks he Danny would like to come and have tea with her and her family, but Danny replies he don't like tea. And moments later the two of them leave. The two go to the dance together and are getting along great, until one of Danny's ex–girlfriend's arrives with one of his buddies. Sandy asks how he knows this girl and he states it's "a friend of the family." Next, Sandy is whisked away from Danny and this ex–girlfriend begins to dance with him. Sandy being visually upset runs out of the gym and leaves. Danny realizing what has happened but continues to dance. Sandy and Danny decide to go and see a movie, and he tells her he is sorry about what happened at the dance. She states she still thinks that Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Movie Analysis : The Movie ' Moana ' Introduction When most people think about Disney movies, their mind often goes to the stereotypical princess movies in which the protagonist wears a pink ball gown. Time and time again these princesses must fight their way through the story in a luxurious ball gown in order to end up with a prince. However, there are many Disney movies that work to challenge these gender stereotypes. The movie Moana is a recent example of a Disney production that works to break the imposed stereotypes placed on children from an early age. The Moana movie poster in itself is a perfect example of challenging gender expectations. Through the look at the target audience, color, and the context of the poster, one can better understand how Moana challenges...show more content... The inspiration young girls may gather from the movie poster is amplified by the text above Moana's head. "Brave Like the Sea." This text implies that Moana is as brave as the sea, something not often portrayed by other advertisements. "Brave" is a word often applied to males only, leaving females completely out of the narrative that they could ever exhibit this trait. However, this poster flips the switch and boldly states that a female is capable of being brave, and provides a strong example for the audience. Color Along with taking on an athletic role, Moana goes against gender stereotypes with her clothing. Typically, Disney assigns various shades of pink or other societally feminine colors to their characters. Moana however, wears a bold red shade. This is significant as not only is it not considered a feminine color, but it is a color associated with bravery and heroism. Disney's decision to place Moana in red, matches with the text provided on the movie poster. The poster itself is mostly three colors: the blue of the sea, Moana's red clothing, and the white text. Focusing on the background of the poster, the blue is significant in itself. Blue is heavily considered to be a male color, which can be seen as early as birth when babies are wrapped either a pink or blue blanket depending on their sex. The blue in the poster also goes back to the oar in Moana's hand. Like mentioned earlier, vigorous water sports are typically Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. The Lion King Movie Analysis Essay examples Today's world requires leadership to compete and succeed. The rapidly changing conditions in the workplace demand adaptive leadership styles, and the success of an organization relies on leaders evaluating and applying effective leadership styles before workplace failures occur. The Disney's animated movie "The Lion King" portrays a combination of leadership styles and changing conditions. We chose to analyze Mufasa, King of Pride Rock, and explain his use of the Path–Goal Theory and its different leadership approaches based on who he was leading and the situation. Additionally, French and Raven's Five Bases of Power is presented in order to highlight Mufasa's success in leading the Pride Rock Kingdom, while simultaneously using the...show more content... The theory asserts that there are five main forms of power: Reward, Referent, Legitimate, Expert, and Coercive. These five bases fall into two categories: Personal Power, which results from a leader's individual characteristics, and Positional Power, which stems from the leader's hierarchical position2. Mufasa was more successful in leading his subordinates when he used personal power as opposed to when positional power. For example, Mufasa succeeded in teaching Simba to pounce, using a referent relationship with Simba as well as his own expertise in pouncing to guide his son4. He however failed as a leader when he commanded Simba not to explore the elephant graveyard5 (see Exhibit 3). He would have been more effective if he provided expert reasoning to Simba in a friendly tone, and explained that there were ruthless and murderous hyenas that lived in graveyard. French and Raven's Five Principles of Social Power offer a useful insight into Mufasa's successful and unsuccessful leadership of the Pride Rock Kingdom. Zazu acted as a counselor to Mufasa in the same way Tom Hagen did to The Don. They had a relational and psychological contract between them, in addition to a trusting relationship. Zazu portrayed all three components of trustworthiness to Mufasa – competence in the way he carried out his tasks, Get more content on HelpWriting.net

After about 15 minutes of arguing on the genre of movie we finally decided on a horror called Infection. A movie I have been wanting to see. Since there is only one couch we decided to let my grandma stretch out on the couch. Hikari found some blankets and pillows for us, so we could be more comfortable. We laid out the blankets on the floor and got comfortable, while Hikari put the movie in. After we were all comfortable, we turned the lights off, closed the curtains, and started the movie. I really wish I could be more like Cameron when it came to guys. I used to be a sort of popular girl but ever since that night I've shut people out. I don't let others get close to me. I don't tell anyone anything. The only person I've been close to since then is Cameron. Even she was hard to let in at first. But now I can't imagine my life without her. I just wish I could be more like her. The friendly, cute person everyone loves. I sit quietly with her as she talks to guys flirting with her. I sit and watch all couples. I sit and listen to sweet words exchanged between couples. I sit. That's all I do. "Hey Isabel. You need...what's wrong?" However, now Neiman's gradual spiral into an obsession for greatness has driven him to breaking point. The car crash scene is the turning point in Nieman's character. His pursuit of perfection and greatness has blinded him. At this point Neiman has lost his old self completely, his dialogue is arrogant and hostile, he no longer cares for his band members or anything apart from greatness. His gradual change of behaviour is evident through his dialogue 1:03:28 when Nieman is on the telephone to one of his band members, he starts cursing and using profane language, similarly to Fletcher. Drumming has become his life, he is no longer concentrated on being a good person instead he is focused on being remembered, as demonstrated after the car accident, Nieman is determined to succeed and please Fletcher, thus continuing to play. As he plays every excruciating beat, his blood drips onto the drum set; representing the pain that he is willing to go to achieve success. Neiman's madness is stopped by Fletcher's two words: "You're done". Along with lighting and dialogue, the volatile and manipulative relationship between Fletcher and Nieman is explored through Chazelles use of cinematography. The incident, when Harlan is assaulting Thelma, set the first dramatic moment. This major event is the twist that provokes the action to escalate to the next act. In outrageous behavior, with suppressed feelings about her past, Louise relapses. She defends her friend, and at the same time, reacts to the memories of abuse she suffered, consequently, making justice for both. 2.Why is this the catalyst, and how does it serve the story? Sad endings, like Thelma and Louise's story, is now proving to be exceptional, because their journeys were exhausting. There were valuable messages broadcasted throughout the acts. However, the most important message was the importance of friendship, with the development of an unbreakable bond, love, and trust between two friends. This is a story of two women with a keen desire to encourage one another and beautifully inspired many others in the process. Act One: The Weekend Trip The desire to escape reality to have fun is the dominant intentional plan. The simple gateway plans to stay at a Louise manager's cabin for the weekend. The major foreshadowing in the first act is when Thelma puts a gun in her purse for protection. The first plot is when Harlan attacks Thelma, at the parking lot, and she resists his advances. Harlan aggressively slaps her. She asks him to stop, but instead he hits her, and proceeds to rape her. Next, Louise shows up and points the gun at him, and Thelma walks away with Louise. Then, Harlan makes some remarks; Louise turns around and shoots him. Act Two: Running Away They are alarmed by the incident. They are no longer having fun; instead, they are concerned about being found guilty of a murderer, a crime committed in self–defense. • 10. Cinematography Essay examples Today, the movie industry has become a huge moneymaker in the entertainment business. You cannot turn on the television without seeing advertisements for the next big blockbuster film. While most of the films these days entertain with amazing special effects or raunchy comedy, there are still films that thrive because of great acting, directing, and editing. Three films that I believe would be great examples of the way these aspects can cause a film to excel are ?Any Given Sunday?, ?The Cell?, and ?Almost Famous?. ?Any Given Sunday? shows how, by using editing, a movie can portray an intense situation realistically. In ?The Cell?, color is used to differentiate between how we see things in reality and how...show more content... Panning shots of cheering fans and screaming coaches along with occasional shots of the game being broadcast on a television with commentators giving their take on the action send the viewer back to the reality that they are only watching the action and not participating in it. While watching this movie you truly feel like you are in the game. ?The Cell?, instead of focusing on accurately portraying reality, takes you to the dream world. Catherine Deane, played by Jennifer Lopez, is a child psychologist involved in an experimental project that allows her to travel inside the mind of coma victims to try to draw them away from their fears and thus out of their coma. This movie portrays the journey inside the mind much like you would depict a dream. When Deane is inside a young child, whose main concern seems to be a fear of the ?boogie man?, the world she enters is a beautiful desert scene where the sky is bright blue with puffy white clouds. She is always dressed in bright white dresses and seems to glow. This depicts that she has earned the child?s trust. All color is brighter in this dreamlike world. Even though these experiments had not been successful bringing the child out of the coma, Dean was able to learn a lot about the child. This caused a couple of detectives to approach her about entering the mind of a serial killer who had slipped into a coma with the goal of discovering the location of his most recent captive. • 11. Descriptive Essay About A Movie I had just gotten off work and I was running around frantically trying to find the perfect outfit for a movie date, I didn't want to be too dressed up, but also not in a t–shirt and shorts, like I usually am. My parents wouldn't let me leave until they got to meet Garrett, the guy who was taking me out to the movies. I was super nervous they weren't going to like him because of his interests. So I send Garrett a text saying that my parents wanted him to come into the house so they could meet him. My dad is very blunt and doesn't know how to control himself sometimes, but I asked him to be nice and if he had any comments to keep them to himself, and thankfully, he did, but he snuck in "what? Does he need a pair of your jeans?" right before Garrett walked through the front door. Garrett is a guy who wears skinny jeans everyday, literally, everyday and he has curly shaggy hair, which I think suits him perfectly. It was completely silent majority of the car ride, besides the music playing the background. I think it would have been a little less awkward if we had the same music tastes, but unfortunately, we did not. He is into screamo songs, and I'm more into hip/hop and pop. We talked a little here and there, and finally arrived to the town Union, where we would be seeing the movie. We got there super early, like almost an hour early, so we looked up back roads to drive on to waste our time. While we drove around waiting on our movie, we got to talk about ourselves. Throughout the movie, Mark befriends his corrupted cousin Henry (Macaulay Culkin), who then persuades Mark to perform dangerous tasks. Henry commits hazardous actions, including throwing a dummy off a bridge, causing a car pileup, and he flings his sister off a frozen lake into the frigid water(Joseph Ruben n.pag.) . The Good Son acquired an " R" rating because studios did not want children to see heroic Culkin in such a nefarious role (Terror Tuesday: R–Rated Films That Should Have Been PG–13 n.pag.). • 14. Movie Analysis : Film And Film Genre Essay There are many different types of film and film genres. A film can fit into more than one genre, but there are some genres that are more general than others. Some examples of film genre are animated, science fiction, documentary, comedy, and historical fiction. Within each genre, there are also specific characteristics that help support themes and story lines within that genre. An animated movie is a drawing, painted, or digitally created film that uses stop–frame cinematography to simulate movement. The best example of an animated movie is Spirited Away. This film came out in 2001 and was directed by Hayao Miyazaki. The film revolves around Chihiro, a girl who must grow up quickly and save her parents from a spirit world. The theme of the film is that there is both good and evil in the world and part of growing up is finding the line between good and evil. In almost every animated film you will find a family friend theme and a fast paced story. This is mainly because most animated films are aimed toward children and families. As a result of this, animated films usually revolve around growing up and taking responsibility, or other themes that will benefit children. Spirited Away is the best example of an animated movie because it is fast paced, has great themes, and is engaging to both children and adults. When children watch Spirited Away they will love the themes or growing up and taking responsibility and exploring the fantasy world inside the film. The social status of females that are widows was a heartbreaking, emotional and psychologically damaging. Chuyia, is an 8–year–old child, she does remember getting married, but is woken by her father to say she will be now living in an ashram– a place for widows– these widows are to live here due to her sins being the reason that her husband passed. Madhumati is the ruler of the ashram, she is a fowl woman. Her way of making money is to sell the widows to men for sex. She eventually sells Chuyia to a man stripping all of the innocence, self–esteem and life out of this child. Chuyia finds a friend in ashram Kalyani, a young beautiful girl that is used as a prostitute. Kalyni helps in comforting Chuyia giving her hope and determination. • 17. Genre theory is used to study films and put them into a classification so that audiences know what type of film it is before they see it. Genres are categories based on the story of the film, sometimes the actors and actresses, or even the directors. All films fall under a genre or sub–genre category. Romantic Comedy is an example of a genre which is light–hearted, humorous story involving people in love, sometimes overlapping with subgenres such as screwball comedy teen comedy, or gross–out comedy. ( Goodykoontz & Jacobs, 2014, table 4.1). This paper will focus on the romantic comedy genre and movie Rocky. It will take a better look at the specific conventions of this genre and how this movie fits the gangster genre. Romantic comedy films create a comic climate through a series of cues to the audience: subject matter is treated as trivial, jokes and physical humor make fun of events, and characters are protected from harm (Grindon Leger (2015). Romantic comedy films usually have a couple that meet and fall in love in some way throughout the movie. In the movie Rocky Sylvester Stallone as Rocky meets Adrian at the pet shop and realizes she is the women he wants to be with. Rocky is a want to be boxer at the time who wants to be a professional boxer and knows Adrian's brother from the gym. When Rocky sees Adrian through the window of the pet shop he uses the excuse that he buys a fish and asks her out. Adrian agrees and she is a very bashful lady, she dresses and looks very homely. Rocky and Adrian starting dating and she supports him through his boxing career. The couple falls in love and they get married. Adrian starts dressing nice and gets contacts to the point you see her transform into a beautiful lady by the end of the film. The genre of Romantic comedy is pairing two individuals into a couple with some comedy which Rocky proves to have. The comedy part would be where Adrian asks Rocky why he boxes and he says "because he can't dance or sing". Throughout the film there are little conventions to show the comedy. The film Rocky the first convention would be the setting. In the film it is set in 1976 in the low income part of Philadelphia. This shows the Rocky and Adrian started out Get more content on HelpWriting.net

There is a man who helps free Soloman from slavery, who helps him become a free man again. The movie takes up a lot of subjects. One obvious is slavery. There is also discrimination of women and human trafficking. When one of the plantation owners talk down to his wife, and treats her like she has nothing to say about stuff, it shows how he thinks of her as less than himself. But it informs in an entertaining fashion with a popular, interesting soundtrack and an original editing/camera technique. Dogtown and Z–Boys uses all of John Corner's central elements of documentary and most of documentaries typical codes and conventions. The film contains lots of areas of observation, mostly showing the boy's when they are young and just starting out. This is unseen observation because the camera is ignored by the people taking part in the event which is being shown. This method places the viewer in the role of being an eye–witness. A narrative is used over this type of observation throughout the film to explain and describe what is taking place. Interviews are also used throughout the film to make it more in depth and realistic. The interviews used are there to establish truth and fact of what's happening on screen. Eye witness/expert testimonies from the original members of the Zephyr Team are used to validate the things which are being
