This is the pitch regarding my Reality TV show. It is a written piece detailing the events/ narrative and the related information.

1. Reality TV Show Pitch - Contest
Title – Nature Prowl
Concept
The concept follows a contest that in which multiple contestants travel to several locations following rumoured sightings of an unknown creature in the hope
of finding ‘a beast spoke of in legend’. The contestant who finds the creature first wins the contest. The show will take a satirical approach that appeals to the
younger demographic of 16–25-year-olds with its comedic nature and its factual and drama aspects.
Additional properties: this will also include interviews with contestants that give their insights and opinions, as well as the camera crews and real audiences/
‘local people’. Additionally, there will be a made-up description and folk legend about the creature explained.
Filming in different locations based on the chronological aspect of the events that follow in the episode of the contest; Being at an interior starting location
(this will be filmed in a house) at the start to establish the preparation and using pan shots on the room and the equipment, a cut/ transition with an
establishing wide shot of the entrance to the forest and a brief description of what they hope to find and a third location being the actual forest itself.
Transitions and sound effects take a serious tone to emphasise the severity of the situation. Low-angles shots present the subject in a state of power whereas
high-angle shots present the subject in a state of vulnerability so the angle and position of the camera effect the audience’s interpretation of the situation.
Perspective shots from the point of view of the presenter or over the shoulder shots to give a sense of immersion. Shots that are obstructed by foliage or trees
can create atmosphere or the feeling of being watched.
Ideology
The ideology is a satirical comment on the fake/ scripted nature of reality tv shows and the irony of the concept. The irony being the unnatural coincidences
that affect the vents in the show, the over dramatic acting and the general falseness of the show genre that contradicts the ‘reality’ aspect; making the reality
entirely fabricated. It follows a similar construct to Channel 4’s ‘Big Brother’ and ITV’s ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here’ where the contestants face one
another with camera awareness and features interviews, drama etc. It is also a mockery of televised programmes that feature a search for ‘a beast in
supposed myth’, such as searching for Big Foot or the Loch Ness monster. However, this is a contest-based reality TV Show and not a Documentary.
Mise En Scene
The costumes will include each contestant in clothes that are suitable for the events that take place such as clothes designed for warmth and work situations;
This is to reflect the natural and rough environment. The ‘creature’ itself will be represented by a person in a morph suit, which is a form of crude humour.
The lighting will be High key to create a less serious tone and a warm colour temperature will be used in more positive scenes; cold colour temperature will be
used for scenes such as in the wilderness and moments of drama or vulnerability.

Opening Sequence
The Opening sequence will follow the main basis of the contest and explain the rules of the game. An edited sequence will play with a voice-over that explains
the supposed existence of the creature and the events that will follow in the episode to add drama; Edited shots of the filming locations will be included in the
sequence as well as fake articles of supposed sittings of the creature as well as a shot of its supposed crash site. The Introductory sequence will introduce the
contestants with an interview of them talking about themselves.
