Scouting potential locations I can use in my film trailer.

1. LOCATION SCOUTING
The potential locations I may use
in my film trailer.
• To identify key location sets can potentially use for the scenes of my film trailer. I intend for them
to be conventional within the genre of horror and to ensure I have a wide range and many to
select from in order for the location to also be conventional in terms of form.
• I will also evaluate these potential locations strength, weaknesses including the risks and
potential problems of being there.
Actual location: King’s Lynn Library.
Film location: Basement of girl’s home.
Role of location: Basement is used during attack of
stalker
- Appears in scene 4,6,11.
Strengths of location Weaknesses – potential problems
• Location has old interior.
• Fits into horror conventions – location is claimed to
be haunted.
• Location is quiet, externally and internally, giving
opportunities for better audio quality in terms of
sound.
• Limited sources of electrical appliances e.g. plugs
– cameras and equipment must all be charged
beforehand.
• Risk of falling down steep stairs / from wires if not
careful. – Unlikely, to prevent be cautious and
keep wires safely organised.
• Library requests to be quiet during opening hours
and to not disturb customers. – Limited on loud
sounds / vol. of dialogue.

West Walton, Abandoned home.
Film location:
Home of stalker
Role of location:
Scene where the stalker is shown to be inhibiting
stalking behaviours and taken interest in daily
activities of girls and plans of attacking.
STRENGTHS WEAKNESSES –
potential problems
• Far from homes of all crew members,
transport may be a potential issue.
• Opposite a local pub, may be dangerous
area to film when during night time.

2. Elm, Wisbech.
Film location:
Alternative to stalkers home / jogging track of character Ella / some stalking encounters take place.
Role of location:
Stalking encounters take place.
STRENGTHS
WEAKNESSES –
potential problems
• Area is known to be risky, may be a safety
hazard when filming during the night time.
• Road nearby may cause sound disruption.
Actual location:
Paul’s home (West-winch).
Film location:
Home of main characters (protagonists)
Role of location:
Home of the girls, significantly shown many times during trailer.
STRENGTHS WEAKNESSES
• Avaliable at all times.
• Easy access of travel.
• Icongraphy elements already offered e.g.
old interior, antiques.
