3. Research
• Honestly, this time research help a lot because I was struggling with the
making of the animation but looking back at research, I made a few
adjustments to my original idea which the research changed the project in
a good and more unique because it was more Deltarune inspired but
when you see the characters attack, its more inspired from Final Fantasy
and Pokémon's way of combat in their game.
See how they all have
something similar?
They all are actions
which is what makes it
more unique
And here is how
Deltarune makes
your enemy's
attack you,
instead of the
enemy's dealing
instant damage,
you can dodge
their attacks. This
is what both
Deltarune and
my animation
call “Gameplay”
4. Weakness for research
1) the only weakness I would say would have been not including the Idle animation for the
certain games, because the games I picked didn’t have idle animations for their characters (which
means there's no movement for when the character is doing nothing) only because deltarunes
characters are the same but with slight animations with their hair or clothes
2) Do you see how their legs or arms Arnt
even moving? But there's a slight change
with either their hair or outfit? That’s why
I didn’t include movement for my
animation! Due to it being heavily inspired
by this game
3) And here comes the
weakness part. I could
have included
animation because
both pokemon and final
fantasy have idle
animations.
(Inset image of any
final fantasy game
that’s 3D)
(note I can't find a gif
that shows an idle
animation but it you
just got to trust me
5) And so, if I did include the research of
idle animations and included it onto my
animation then it would of have looked a
lot nicer but probably wouldn’t have had
enough time to finish due to not being in
college for most of the time
5. Planning (check next slide)
• I'd say the planning I made was pretty good on what I wanted
to achieve in this project, it did help quite a bit when I needed
a slight recap on what I wanted but I only checked it a phew
times since I had the whole idea stuck in my head.
• In all honesty, there wasn’t many weaknesses for my planning
since I spilled out all my ideas in the planning and made sure
it made senses for people to read because I was making more
of a story but put into a game. So, I didn’t add the context on
who and what the characters are then it would have been a
random idea to just have produced these characters with no
purpose

7. Time Management
• See now this is a funny one this time, because with time management I
just mange to get it finished again but just a bit earlier than the last phew
projects, but the problem lies within college, because during the 6th of
January (Monday) it was sadly a bank holiday and Tuesday was closed due
to lack of staff (covid) and went back on Thursday. And now its Monday
(10th of January) and the year 11’s are coming to have a taster day for
Tuesday and Thursday (the days when I do stuff in college). So, what I'm
trying to get at is I manage to finish everything and I'm happy but if these
delays never happened, I could have possibly made the project a bit longer
and a bit better than what it is now
8. Technical Qualities
So, these two other projects, the bottom left one made by qoDaX and the bottom right one
made by OcasCradt17 (which is from his Deviant page). These two projects were a starting
inspiration when I was working on the project and were helpful for parts where I needed some
refences for the fighting part of my animation.
However, the reason to why it doesn’t love the same as the
inspiration was because for my research, I wanted the
pokemon/final fantasy research to not go to waste so which is
why I chose a more different approach.
And for this part of my
animation, this is just only
refencing deltarunes gameplay.
So, there isn’t any personal
project that can have this as
their own idea
9. Aesthetic Qualities
I do really think it looks good and very more creative since the characters used are all hand made by me (expect
Larry and Theo) and using these characters in any sort of way make me happy. I also personally really like the
style because it's very much a Me style (what I mean by that is that this would be my sort of style of pixel art
due to the fact I've done pixel a phew times already)
The one thing I would improve on would be next time to add a bit more animation on the characters, make the
fighting longer and show what would have happened if the player got damaged in the animation. And how I
would have improved that is if I had more time (I already explained why in my Production Reflection)
My strengths in this work would be that I've made some very smooth animations and it’s the only animation
(for now) that has the most movement. My weaknesses would be the time I had and not extending the
story/gameplay a bit more.
And next time
making more
detailed frames
(as in maybe
showing the
punch travel or
the knifes
swinging more
11. Audience Appeal
we never did a questionnaire this time, so I'll talk about the formal proposal instead.
For when it comes to my audiences, i wouldn’t really change it still because I still think this would appeal to more
the male audience and around the ages of 13-18+ because the animation/game is more about fighting and only has
male characters.
For when it comes to my research, it's still focusing more on deltarune than the other two (pokémon and final
fantasy)
And for the Legal & Ethical Considerations, I kept my promise and didn’t do any of the following. However, my first
experiment on Harrizon (the middle character on the left of my project) was going to be beaten up and bloody
because it was originally was going to set halfway into the battle of the animation
But in all honesty, I forgot that I included
blood and burses in my first experiment
and thought it would have been a better
idea to start from the beginning of the fight
and not near the end
13. Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product? What
improvements could have been made to the
product?
– I liked the music and the sound effects for the
product. Also liked the dialogue and the
character designs. What you could do for next
time is to add more shapes for the
background and add a bit more colour (like
the shaded tool to the blocks)
14. Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
• The animation and attention to detail is really
really good. You clearly spent a lot of time on it.
The sound effects and music work so well along
with the animation. This looks like a game I'd want
to pay.
• What improvements could have been made to the
product?
• The only improvement I can think of is that I would
love to see more which I understand with time
restraints wouldn't be possible.
15. Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product? What
improvements could have been made to the
product?
• the things that i like about the product is that
i thought the way you put all different moves
together to defeat the other people and i
also like the little animation in the middle to
show you fighting them. one improvement
you could do is try to make the people walk
towards each other a little bit
16. Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer
feedback? I agree with Chriss and Sam's feedback, if I did put a
bit more extra effort, I would have been able to do these requests
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback? The only feed ill disagree with is Hayden's
improvement answer which was "you could do is try to make the
people walk towards each other a little bit" which this defeats
the purpose of deltarunes way of attacking because none of
the characters walk up to the enemy to attack (though final
fantasy dose this with characters who are short ranged)
17. Peer Feedback Summary
the changes i would of made are from Chris and Sam with their suggestions
this would have made the animation a lot better, and I would have done
these if I had more time. Because I would have also liked to make a longer
version, but I knew if I continued then I wouldn’t have had enough time
