2. PT. Indobamboo Lestari is a community engaged in industry with sustainable
forestry principles with modern wood modification technology and industrial
design innovation to create a sustainable wood product: Strand Woven
Bamboo (SWB). In making bamboo manufacturing process into a finished goods
can not be separated from the waste generated. This waste can be sawmill,
dust, flakes, strand reject, and etc. This increasingly accumulated waste has to
be discarded because it causes an unhealthy factory environment and hampers
production processes. Utilizing this waste into a reusable and economically
viable item is expected to reduce waste. The production itself requires a lot of
fuel to run it (boiler).

like bamboo waste directly as fuel can not be done because the waste can
easily fly and ignite the fire so it is dangerous for workers.
The boiler fuel that has been used is firewood purchased from outside and
contrary to the principle of PT Indobamboo Lestari, which is sustainable
forestry.

BACKGROUND
Bamboo-dust briquettes are low cost fuel products, simple methods, and do
not absorb much power. Compressed bamboo powder wastes can be used
for boiler fuel this can minimize the use of the premises and improve
efficiency because of its solid form and the concept of sustainable forestry
can be more achieved.

1. Use safety equipment, mask is required.
2. Prepare tools and materials.
Tools: press machine, any container for
stacking, shovel (if needed).
Materials: bamboo dust waste (particle
size: 2-3 mm)
3. Make sure the moisture content of
bamboo dust waste is +/- 10 - 15%.
4. Put in the bamboo dust waste into the
press machine .
5. Turn on the machine and start pressing.
6. If briquettes are not directly used,
briquettes can be stored in a room to keep
them dry and more concise in the next
pickup.

1. When the waste bamboo has a water content of more than 15%, it can be
dried first by drying in the sun or dried with an oven.
2. Particles from bamboo waste(raw materials) which larger than 3 mm can be
directly pressed, but affect briquette density.
3. If you want to use bamboo waste with particles larger than 3 mm should be
smoothed first using an additional machine. The suggested machine is
wood chipper and disk mill.
