2. Why do TV shows have websites?
The websites of TV shows are intended to generate interest in the show to improve ratings, and to provide
information about the show (and sometimes past episodes) for those people who are already fans of the show.
The purpose of movie websites is to pique interest and sell tickets, they generally include:
• Plenty of video, including trailers,
• Easy access to show times and online ticket purchasing,
• Cast bios and other general info.

4. Sci-fi tv show. Slide show of photos of the characters which go through automatically. Relatively small title of tv show as already
well-known. Logo-type font reinforces the franchise and makes it instantly recognisable.

5. Whole front page rotates on a slide show showing different images and news.

6. Sci-fi tv show.
Image from the show with headline over the top. Title in iconic font in top right corner, quite small because the franchise is already
well-known.

7. Horror film.
Image from the film showing main character takes up the whole screen. Title of film written in large red font in the style of the theme
of the film in the middle of the screen.
Menu option in top corner. Social media links. “Get Tickets” button not applicable to me as I am making a TV show not a film.

8. Netflix website.
Large title in the iconic font of the franchise makes it instantly recognisable. Large artistic image of main characters and settings
(which is different to the other websites which show an image from the show/film). Shows what the show is like. Reinforces the
genre. Feels grand and impressive. Short description of the story. Details include year of release, age rating, genre, cast, etc.
Options to sign up to Netflix.

10. Video pages

11. Trailers, specials, behind the scenes, extra episodes. Grid layout showing a thumbnail for each video with a short description of what
the video is and how long it lasts for. Dark background.

12. All videos are shown down the left hand side of the page and the selected video is shown in the middle of the screen. The only videos
available are trailers for the film. Dark background.

13. Link to YouTube where more trailers and videos are available but the are no extra videos directly on the website. Dark backgrounds.

14. Trailers presented in a row with eye-catching thumbnails.
