2. Before we had to upload on our last lesson, we got our teacher
to look through our teaser trailer to give us any very quick
feedback that we can improve on before it came to our lesson
of uploading our Rough Cut.
Our feedback was to show some different lighting techniques,
and suggested to use the ‘Day into Night’ effect, which we can
adjust the brightness. With the filter at its full capacity, it looks
really dark and purple, so we had to put it
down to a low setting, trying not to show any
purple, but having it dark enough to give the
idea that its late in the day.
DAY INTO NIGHT EFFECT
3. This is what our final magazine cover looks like. Joe was able to
add in all the other features that Sight and Sound have, and
was able to produce this. These different features made sure
that the main purpose and focus was the film title that is in
bold, then there is some other information about what else is
included within the magazine.
We were given some quick feedback before we
had upload everything, where our teacher
mentioned that the Sight and Sound magazines
have a distinct white outline, so Joe managed
to incorporate this.
FINAL MAGAZINE LOOK
4. Joe then decided to work on the poster. We wanted to keep the
back to back look, so he looked through which photos he
needed to represent this, and what would work well in order to
Photoshop and turn into a poster. He chose these two photos
and deleted the background on them so that he could place
them together and begin the other features of the poster.
PHOTOS FOR OUR POSTER
5. Eventually within the two lessons of working, Joe managed to finish the
poster look. We queried on what colour scheme we wanted to represent.
Our group knew that we wanted a dark red and white, however we were
questioning whether we wanted there to be a blurred and faded colour
scheme so that they combined together, or if we wanted block colours.
As Joe tried the faded effect, we noticed that the
colours merged together and showed a slight
pink effect in the middle where their backs are
met, and thought that this didn’t work, so decided
to stick with the block colours. This shows that
there is an obvious difference to the character,
showing two obvious differences in their character
and lifestyle.
Joe also included the billing block in which we all
filled in together, as well as adding in a quick review
which posters include.
FINAL POSTER LOOK
6. When it cam to the day of uploading our teaser trailer as a
Rough Cut, we had to make sure that we added in our final
magazine cover, and poster at the end of our timeline, so that
when it came to feedback, our class members would be able to
see the magazine and poster within the same clip.
