Dec.2011 – Present: TuCarrera Mexico SA de CV - Mexico
Position: CEO
The company, in association with Banco Santander and several well known brands,
like McDonald's, Office Depot, etc. manages a credit card loyalty program for Banco
Santander that promotes College education.
Main duties: I’m directly involved in strategic planning, business operation overview,
marketing strategies, finance planning and budgeting and sales strategies.
Achievements: after launching operations in 2015, our loyalty program became one of
the two Banco Santander's main loyalty programs in Mexico enrolling around 10,000
customers per month being our product an innovative. I also designed the software
architecture needed to run the business.
Feb.2010 – Nov.2011: OGE SA de CV - Mexico
Position: Managing Director
The company operates 26 casino licenses in Mexico having 1,200 employees
Main duties: I was responsible for business operation overview, marketing strategies,
finance planning and budgeting and new venues opening. I reported to the Board of
Directors
Achievements: I lead a deep company re-engineering that cut expenses by 35% and
maximized profit. I was responsible for developing new vendor’s commercial conditions
getting soft financing together with the due diligence approval on vendors that must
comply with Nevada Gaming license regulations. I increased EBITDA by 22% in one
year.
March 2004 – January 2010: RHC Inversiones Tropicales (dba Tower Casinos) –
Dominican Rep.
Position: Managing Director
2. Corporation belonging to RAJ Gaming (Canada) and the Meller Group. The company
operates casinos in Dominican Rep. It has around 400 employees and revenues for
US$ 12 million. While keeping my duties at Gula International in Miami, I started up the
company in Dominican Republic.
Main duties: I was responsible for business operation overview, marketing strategies,
finance planning and budgeting and HH.RR. Reported to the CEO
Achievements: I developed the local market and new business partnerships with local
Resorts and Tour Operators, increasing customers by 30% and revenues by 25% in
two years. I made an expense reduction plan that produced significant savings to the
company. I searched and developed a professional manager’s team to run the
company operations.
March 2002 – January 2006: GULA INTERNATIONAL LLC- Miami, Florida (Meller
Group)
Position: Director
While keeping my duties at Telejuegos in Mexico, I moved to Miami to launch a chain
of Coffee & Gelatto parlors in South Florida and developed the wholesale market in
USA. My duties were mainly related to the start up, permits and installations,
recruitment, day to day operation, wholesales, inventories, QC and general
administration
Achievements: the company, even though being new in the business and in the
country, was able to quickly launch the first operation in only four months and sales
grew up to $12 million in 18 months
January 2000 – January 2004: TELEJUEGOS SA – Mexico (Meller Group)
Position: General Manager
The company was partner of Televisa (#1 Group Media in Latin America) and produced
interactive TV shows based in audiotext over telephony and SMS technology. It had
yearly revenues for $80 million.
Main duties: I was responsible for the business operation overview, finance and P&L
overview, technology development and HH.RR. Reported to the President and
Company Owner
Achievements: I developed the company operations from scratch in a new country in
just 3 months. I conducted the business relationship between partners and led the
team that developed the new technology necessary to operate the business. Revenues
in the first year grew to $48 million
January 1998 – November 1999: OPERATIONS CONSULTING – Argentina
Position: Senior Consultant
The company was founded by retired senior partners of Arthur Andersen and was a
strategic consulting firm that assisted top management teams in developing their
businesses.
Main duties: I managed a team of 20 junior & senior consultants that was mainly
focused in manufacturing industries and telephone and TV network service providers
Achievements: led a team of consultants that fully re-design the operations of the main
Cable Network Company in Argentina with revenues for US$600 million producing
yearly savings for $50 million
3. January 1995 – January 1998 BRASMELL SA – Brazil (Meller Group)
Position: Operations Director
Brasmell was one of the main providers to the Brazilian Telephone Carriers. The
company provided fiber optics transmitters, cellular poles, telephone cables, etc. The
operation was based in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Main duties: I was responsible for the business operation overview, technology
development and manufacturing. I reported to the CEO.
Achievements: I developed the company operations in a new country from scratch
together with new vendors that must comply with international & Brazilian standards. I
conducted the ISO 9002 standard approval
September 1982 – January 1995 MELLER GROUP – Argentina
Position: from junior engineer to Operations Director
The company was one of the three main providers to the Argentine Telephone
Carriers. It was a manufacturer of electronic equipment, telephone cables, etc. and was
also a service provider to the industry: the company was responsible for the Yellow
Pages Directory business in Argentina for 8 years.
It had yearly revenues for $150 million and 1,200 employees.
Main duties: as Operations Director (COO) I was involved in manufacturing, R&D,
H.H.R.R, logistics and Quality Control. I was also responsible for the ISO 9001
certification process.
