This is the presentation I used to teach my lesson on time management to my FYE class Fall 2016. I used limited bullet points so that I could elaboration on my points further during my presentation.

6. PLANNING AHEAD
• Write down important dates!
• Know when to start working
• Start small: plan day by day, then week by week
• Don’t procrastinate!
7. SETTING GOALS
• Set achievable goals
• Give yourself small goals to accomplish throughout the day
• Don’t stress over having major goals
• Keep reminding yourself of your goals
8. PRIORITIZE
• What is most important?
• What is due first?
• What will take the longest?
• What else do you have to do?
9. MAKING A TO-DO LIST
• Prioritize
• Write it on paper
• Cross things off!
• Write your daily goals
10. USING A CALENDAR
• Have a master calendar
• Write important dates!
• Keep it somewhere you can always see it
• Write EVERYTHING down
• Use an agenda to plan your days and weeks
11. STUDYING, SOCIALIZING, AND
SLEEPING: DOING IT ALL
• Make time for everything!
• Identify your harder classes- what will require the most
studying/outside of class work?
• Be realistic- how much time do you need to get everything
done?
• Make time for friends and family
• Give yourself nights off
• Plan to get 8+ hours of sleep every night
• No one can run on empty!
• You CAN get everything done!

• How much homework do you get for each class?
• How long does the homework take you?
• Socializing
• How many clubs are you signed up for?
• When do they meet? How often?
• Do you have to do anything outside of club meetings?
• Sleeping
• What time do your classes start in the morning?
• How long do you need to get ready?
• How long does it take you to get to your classes?
• Do you eat breakfast?
13. SET SOME GOALS
• How many hours of sleep do you want to get every night?
• How much time do you want to spend relaxing every day?
• How many times do you want to go to the gym during the
week?
• How long?
• How much time will you spend studying every week?
• Are you going to do homework on the weekends?
14. TIME TO PLAN!
• Write in your class schedule into the weekly calendar
• Write important events into monthly calendar
• Use the weekly planner to plan out one week of the month

• What new methods for time management did you learn?
• What are you going to try in the future?
