RURAL ENVIRONMENTS
 Rural areas are large and isolated areas of
an open country with low population
density.
Landscape:-is a space formed by large areas
of land where the human develops
agricultural, livestock, and forestry
activities, which correspond to the primary
economic sector.
 Employments:-most jobs in rural areas
belong to the primary sector. By far the most
important employer includes farming,fishing
and production of food.
 Development:-Rural development defined as
a process of improving the quality of life
and wellbeing of people living in rural
areas.
 EXAMPLES OF RURAL AREAS IN OTHER
COUNTRIES
 E.g Kenya
 Ethiopia
 India
 Somalia
 Brazil
 Rural changes is strongly influenced our
factors:
 Economic development
 Tecnnological development
 Population growth
 Rural-urban migration
Sustainable rural living:-The term sustainable
rural livelihoods has been adopted for this paper,
as the work on which these reflections is based is
largely rurally based.
MANAGING RURAL CHALLENGES
However, rural education faces unique challenges,
such as limited resources, a constrained tax base
and demographic shifts. The rural population is
decreasing, aging and migratory, and, as a
result, these communities present unique
challenges in providing quality education with
limited resources.
 Rural stakeholders:-Stakeholder involvement
in the Rural Development policy context
means engaging individuals ranging from
policy designers to project beneficiaries in
all stages of the policy cycle.
 TYPES OF RURAL STAKEHOLDERS:-
 Public and private transportation agencies
 Local businesses and national businesses
 An intergovernmental organization (IGO) is
an organization composed primarily of
sovereign states (referred to as member
states), or of other organizations through
formal treaties for handling/serving common
interests and governed by international laws.
IGOs are established by a treaty that acts as a
charter creating the group.
Hence, an international non-governmental
organization (INGO) is a non-profit
organization that operates without the
involvement of the government and
expands the concept of a non-profit
organization to a global scale. What are Non-
governmental Organizations? NGOs are non-
governmental organizations that provide
services
