I learned how to take high quality photos using a DSLR camera, developed skills in Photoshop such as creating effects and properly resizing images, and researched existing magazines online for inspiration. Through this project, I gained experience taking photos both indoors and outdoors with my Canon camera in different modes and lighting, learned Photoshop techniques by watching tutorials, and used the internet to efficiently research music magazines.

WHAT I’VE LEARNT

3.  I used a Canon DSLR camera to take all of the pictures I used
in my project, making sure my pictures were in focus, using it
both indoors and outdoors, taking advantage of the different
modes it has and using it both with flash and without.

4. Although I didn’t have experience using photoshop prior to
starting Media Studies A Level, I was quickly able to learn by
watching youtube videos and reading tutorials. Things that I
found quite daunting are now easy and straightforward such as
holding down the shift key when resizing an image to keep all
of its dimensions the same and not distorting it.

5.  The internet was an important tool for me to use during my
research as it enabled me to gather lots of information about
existing music magazines on the market, as well as using
them as inspiration for my own project which influenced my
overall media product.
