1. TREES
I THINK I SHALL NEVER SEE
A POEM AS LOVELY AS A TREE
A TREE WHOSE HUNGRY MOUTH PRESSED
AGAINST THE EARLIEST SWEET FLOWING BREAST
A TREE THAT LOOK AT GOD ALL DAY
AND LIFTS HER LEAFY ARMS TO PRAY
2. A TREE THAT MAY IN SUMMER WEAR
A NEST OF ROBINS IN HER HAIR
UPON WHOSE BOSOM SNOW HAS LAIN
WHO INTIMATELY LIVES WITH RAIN
POEMS ARE MADE BY FOOLS LIKE ME
BUT ONLY GOD CAN MAKE A TREE
4. PLANTS
• a living thing that grows in earth,
in water, or on other plants, usually has
a stem, leaves, roots, and flowers,
and produces seeds
• is any organism in the kingdom Plantae.
• general definition of a plant is any
organism that contains chlorophyll (a
green pigment contained in a specialized
cell called a chloroplast) and can
manufacture its own food
• Is an organism with cellulose cell walls,
which grows by synthesis of inorganic
substances.
6. VINE
A crawling
plant
Its body and
stem are not
hard enough
to make it
stand.
Its either
spreads on the
ground or
clings to some
structures for
support.
7. TREE
Is a permanent woody plant that has a self
supporting stem.
8. HERB
A non woody and non permanent plant
are plants with savory or aromatic properties that are
used for flavoring food, in medicine, or as fragrances.
9. SHRUB
A woody plant that has a number of stems are
growing from the soil.
It does not grow very tall
11. ROOTS
They provide the plant with food.
Absorbs water and food materials from the
soil.
It holds the plants in place
There are two different kinds of roots;
fibrous and taproot
12. Fibrous Roots
Composed of many fiber-like
structure
It is usually formed by thin,
moderately
branching roots growing from
the stem
It is usually formed by thin,
moderately
branching roots growing from
the stem
Taproot
Has one main root from
which other roots
emerge.
It grows vertically
downward.
From the taproot arise
smaller
lateral roots(secondary
roots), which in turn
produce even smaller
lateralroots (tertiary
roots).
13.
14.
15. STEM
Has tube – like cells that carry food
materials from the roots to leaves and
distribute the food manufactured by the
leaves to all parts of the plants.
There are two classifications; woody stems
and herbaceous stems.
19. Leaves
The main food making organs of the
plant.
Manufacture starch and carbohydrates
20.
21. Chlorophyll
Green pigment found in the plant
Stomata
Tiny openings found in the leaves
It absorbs carbon dioxide
22. Photosyhthesis
is a process used by plants and other organisms to convert light energy
into chemical energy that can later be released to fuel the organisms'
activities (energy transformation)
is largely responsible for producing and maintaining the oxygen content of
the Earth's atmosphere, and supplies all of the organic compounds and most
of the energy necessary for life on Earth.
23.
24. FLOWERS
Bear the reproductive organs called
pistils and stamen.
sometimes known as a bloom or blossom
25.
26. Pollination
A process of transferring pollen from an anther of a flower to the stigma of
the same flower or another flower.
is the process by which pollen is transferred to the female reproductive
organs of a plant, thereby enabling fertilization to take place.
27.
28. FRUIT
Is the ripened ovary of a flower.
A result of the flowers reproduction
29. SEED
Is the ripened ovule of a flowering plant.
It contains the embryo and some stored food.
It is the young plant
It has three parts; seed coat, embryo ,the
endosperm
