Outcomes of Program
- Describe and evaluate key curriculum approaches.

- Apply outcomes-based approach to student learning
- Appreciate some of the challenges and opportunities in
moving from a teacher centered to a student centered
approach
- Begin to evaluate their teaching through feedback and
self-reflection
- Begin to use the research and literature on teaching and
learning in Higher Education to inform the development of
their practice
6. Components of the NDP programme
1. Core workshops:
• Student centred learning
• Assessment
• Curriculum
• Outcomes based approach to student learning
• Reflection
2. ‘Optional’ workshops (At least two to be completed)
• Creative thinking
• Supporting group work
• In class assessment and student feedback
3. Communities of Practice (CoP):
• Between workshops, participants will meet in their groups as a
‘community of practice’ (CoP)
• Disseminate, share, reflect on and discuss teaching and learning
initiatives they have implemented in their classes
7. Assessment of NDP
Stage 1: Summative Assessment:
- The completion by each participant of a self-reflection template
examining a student centred learning intervention they have tried
out in their teaching.
- Those participants achieving at least a satisfactory grade will be
awarded with a certificate of recognition at the showcase event
Stage 2: Formative Assessment Show Case Event
- Participants will present group posters on their teaching and
learning. Posters will be judged according to the criteria to be
provided.
