2. Before the interview
– Research the company on the internet. This can be
done by typing the company name into a search
engine and reading the company website. Make sure
you know what the company does and think about
why you want to work for that specific company
– Prepare a list of questions you might be asked and
plan your answers
– Plan your journey, make sure you arrive at lest 10
minuets early for the interview.
– Decide what you are going to wear the night before.
Dress to impress, make sure your outfit is clean,
ironed and ready to wear
3. At the Interview
• Offer a handshake to your interviewer on arrival
and departure
• Look the interviewer in the eye
• Smile and be enthusiastic
• Avoid saying negative comments about your
previous employer or colleagues
• Ask a question about the company at the end of
the interview as it shows you’re interested. Such
as what level of training is involved or what is the
company’s culture.
4. How to Control Your Nerves
• Practise answering interview questions in a
mirror or better still ask a friend or family
member to interview you
• Write notes and take them along to the interview
• If you don’t know how to answerer a question
straight away, don’t panic! Ask for a minuet to
think and take your time
• If offered a glass of water, take it. Taking a sip of
water allows time to think and calm down.
