3. CONCEPT - SPIN
The overall concept of idents that will be produced for the channel, The Grid,
will be to entertain people within a community environment so that everyone
can feel included. This will be visually shown by having within the suite
different representations of people and situations present within the idents.
Just because there will be different representation and scenarios within the
idents it does not mean that you will not be able to recognize the idents as
part both of the suite and the channel that they will represent. This is
because they will all follow a similar colour scheme and the logo, same
colour and font, will be present within each ident. The only difference will be
the continuity announcer within each ident as I wish for that to be varied so
that again due to this being a universal channel people don't feel excluded.
The main concept will feature a single person performing a simple task that
people can relate to in some form and then that transitions to the logo where
it will spin within each ident. It will spin differently in each ident and the logo
will always be shown at the end of the ident. Incdentaliy this is why I have
dubbed the name "Spin 2017" for the ident suite name.
4. LOGO DESIGN 1
This logo is very simplistic but has the potential to become very complicated in an
tasteful way. Using the colours from my research document I incorporated them
within to a logo design. I like the first logo design with the three colours (Yellow,
Black and white) as I feel it stands out more and is bright, which is something
different compared to other universal channels logos out there. Not only that but
the bright colours will also visually appeal to my target audience. The other two
logos work well but I just believe for the channel and the overall theme and concept
of entertainment that they are maybe just a bit to bland. In saying this however they
could work in a concept where the logo is incorporated within the ident with
animation of the smaller cubes/squares.
5. LOGO DESIGN 2
These are more of draft logos and overall I think that that is logo design is the best as it's
simplistic and straightforward. I also believe that this will be the best logo to incorporate within my
ident suite as a whole.
Looking forward I will improve this logo design by adding a gradient on the logo and have more of
a curved edge.
Comparing this logo to the pervious one the colours don't work as well as and this is in reference
to the last logo with the colours, yellow, black and white. Looking at this I will more than likely pick
this logo design as I feel it will fit my target audience and the concept of what the channel is trying
to represent alongside the ident as well. I will most likely pick the first logo with which uses the
colours blue and white. This is because I already know that these colours work in a real life
application with a channel such as Sky One. I have already talked about this in my planning and
research document but I think blue will work best as well as a colour due to the fact that it is a
fairly gender neutral colour. Taking inspiration from the sky one logo, I created this minimalistic
logo. For the animation the word GRID will be split into individual letters and then come together
on screen to make the logo. This could be used for a special ident that just features the logo
similar to channel 4 ident for formula 1, you can have the individual letters zoom onto the screen
with the sound effects of tires breaking and smoke effects on the blocks to complement the sound
effects. However that isn't on of my main ideas for an ident, it's just an expansion of what the logo
could do in the future if this was a real product. The final logo design will be created using the
font Superclarendon.
6. SPIN LOGO TEST
Before I start to go further into the concept of what I wish to produce and how
alongside all the planning. I want to make sure that I can actually make an
object spin in 3D within adobe software, such as after effects. This is a
technique that I haven't done before so therefore I used this time that I have
set aside in my time management, explained later on in the document to test
this out within after effects to see if I can continue the concept. I used both
photoshop and after effects to create this effect on the logo. I tested this out
twice once by trying to make the whole logo spin and other time trying to
make separate parts of the logo spin. I mainly separated the layers and key
framed them to make each part spin.

7. SOUND DESIGN
As mentioned within my planning and research document I stated that I will
most likely create my own background track to go with the ident and then
find royalty free sounds online as part of the diegetic sounds in accordance
to what is happening within the ident. I want to create sound that fits in with
the target audience as well as the tone and theme of what the ident is trying
to portray.
My first concept was to create something similar to channel 4's, however I
would slow it down.
My second concept was to create a mixture a sound bite that is very similar
in terms of tone and pace to BBC but to have the style more vibrant, again
similar to channel 4 to try and appeal to my target audience.
[PLACE SOUND BITE HERE]
I will included ether sound within my ident and it will be throughout the
duration of said ident however I will not have it overpower the visual element
and therefore also the sounds that will be accompanied with that, so I will
more than likely being testing out more sounds later on when I have a
complied all my footage and animation with premier pro.
8. MOTION GRAPHICS AND
COMPOSITING TECHNIQUES
To create my ident and keeping on track with my concept I will be
including different techniques within the ident as that it is visually
appealing to the audience. Therefore I will included within each ident
concept/idea, a motion track, composting shots and I will also try and
include so form of motion graphics. I will use these alongside both
animation and footage that I will film myself.
I will therefore be using different software programs such as Photoshop,
Premier Pro and After Effects to help me compile, edit and produce these
techniques within the finished product.
10. IDENT 1 – STORYBOARD (ADDED
SHOTS FOR NEW CONCEPT)
This is the
shots/storyboard
for the first section
of the whole ident.
This means that
this will be the
shots/footage
before the other
storyboard and
after this last shot
which is the static
of the text
message on the
phone it will
transition to the
first shot of the
pervious
storyboard to start
the animation.
11. IDENT 1 –
SOUND/ANIMATION
This will be one of the ident's that fits into my ident suite for the channel named Grid. It
will fit into the concept where the logo is the main part of the ident and it has some
element where it spins. In this case of the animation is where items of food are through
off screen that hit the logo. The hits cause the logo to slightly spin before more hits come
at a faster pace, once the logo is hit right in the center of said logo, it will then spin really
fast and this cases all the food to fly of the logo and hit the screen. The food then drips
down the screen reveling the logo again before the ident ends. I thought that by having
the logo only move or start to spin slightly will make the other hits look more impactful.
This will also be reinforced by sound to further emphasize the point. The colour and the
font used within this ident will be the same colour and font that will be used within the
other two ident's this will give the ident's much more of a link alongside the concept and it
will fit into the channel without making it seem to abstract and confusing the audience
rather than just providing information and entertainment.
Royalty free sounds that I have found online:
Splat #1 Spin Static #1 Phone #1
Splat #2 Bus Static #2 Phone #2
I want to have all the ident's as part of a suite similar so that there is a clear connection
while also making them have there own unique element to them. For this particular ident
concept and due to the fact that I am now adding original footage to all the of concept
ideas, I will have someone sitting of a bus. There phone will bleep with a message asking
them what they want to eat and then, the message, done as a 3D tracking shot will start
to become static before it moves to the original storyboard ident where the food fits the
ident and it spins. This keeps the real life context and the animation linked together.
13. IDENT 2 – STORYBOARD (ADDED
SHOTS FOR NEW CONCEPT)
This is the
shots/storyboard for
the first section of
the whole ident. This
means that this will
be the shots/footage
before the other
storyboard and after
this last shot which
is the static of the
text message on the
phone it will
transition to the first
shot of the pervious
storyboard to start
the animation. This
was added so that
this particular ident
fit more into the
overall concept and
ident suite.
14. IDENT 2 – SOUND/ANIMATION
This is the one where the "blocks" come together towards the end. This is the only one
that I have concerns about if it convincingly fits into the ident suite.
In terms of animation the type of techniques that I would use will be composting shots
with the original footage.
The colours and font will be the same as the other idents as mentioned before, this will
be more present within this ident where the different coloured blocks will change to the
same colour that is used throughout to create the logo. The font will remain the same as
well to add consistency.
Sound effects:
Static #1 Rubik Cube
Static #2 Spark
For this I will include original footage of someone playing with a Rubik cube and then all
of a sudden it will spark and move, jump, this will then start the transition of the original
storyboard concept of the blocks moving together. The only thing I would change would
be have the blocks spinning as them come together to change so that they are all
become the same colour, therefore the transition to the logo doesn't look as abstract.
This then fits in with the other idents as part of a suite so that each ident has the logo
spinning in some shape or form in a much more convincing manner as the actual logo
spins.
17. IDENT 3 – SOUND/ANIMATION
This is the one where the logo grid acts as a casino, sound effects will be used to make this
seem more authentic. I will also use motion track with maybe a coin or the pulling of a lever of
the animation. This will add more aspects to the ident overall that will make it visually appealing
for my target audience and fit into the entertainment concept of what I aim for the channel to
represent.
In terms of animation for this particular ident I will be included a motion tracking shot, as well as
composting shot with the original footage that I will have filmed as well as animation that I will
have created myself.
Throughout all the idents the font and the colours will be the same so that not only do the
ident's link together as part of a concept but also in visual elements as well. The only thing that I
would change is if I where to develop this ident suite fuller, as in create them to a brief for a
specific channel I would have different commentators to add more variety alongside the ident's
more so because this will be a universal channel and therefore watched by a much wider and
diverse general audience compared to an arts and progressive channel for example.
Sound effects:
Static #1 Slot Machine #1
Static #2 Slot Machine #2
I would change the concept slightly to fit in so that I can include original footage, for his ident I
will have someone walking into a room and the TV starts to become static and then it transition
to the original ident storyboard. This still links in with the other two idents as part of a suite by
having the logo spin. Due to the fact that I am know including original footage I wont include the
coin concept within the ident or the lever, it will literally just be logo acting by itself, sound
effects will be added to make it sound more authentic and so the audience will have a better
understanding of what they are being told visually.
18. FINAL IDENT TO PRODUCE
The final ident that I intend to produce is ident 3 however I will change the idea slightly so that I
actually am using the start of ident 1 with the concept of a person looking at a phone as I feel
this will allow be to be more creative and show of a variety of skills within adobe. When looking
back at my original idea and planning I realized that all my ident's are 100% animation and that
they don't include any original footage. This meant that I couldn't include any motion track or
compositing shots therefore I have adjusted the sequence so that it now includes an original
footage alongside the animation, however keeping in form with my original ideas and
considering that it is based on Sky One ident suites. (I have added more notes to fit in with the
this new concept and how I would implement them into the suite, those notes are wrote in red)
I will also include a motion graphic/parallax within the ident as well.
This means that I will now have a much broader range of techniques present within the ident.
The sounds such as the background music will be the kept the same as well to fit into the
consistency of the ident suite package. Meaning that if I where to produce all three idents that I
would include the same sound track to all three idents. As I mentioned on pervious slides the
font and colours will be the same to keep consistency throughout the idents as part of a suite.
The final colours and fonts that I will be using in this ident as part of the final project are the
same of that of the logo, this is considering that the logo is at the main focal point of this ident.
This means that the main colours that I will be using are blue and white and this is because
they are gender neutral colours so that they will appeal to my target audience but also because
I know that they work well in a rather like application. In terms of the original footage that I will
be using in the ident I will be keeping the colours and the dress codes as well as the mise-en-
scene as neutral as possible so that I can try and convey a universal concept that will not
exclude certain demographics and people this is one of the reasons in which why I am not
including the actors face in the footage, completely that is, you will see the back and side of his
face but creatively I have chosen not to show a complete front body shot, mainly because I
didn't feel the need to include this as by visually denoting the person wont add or change
anything to the narrative and the concept of the ident.
21. STORYBOARD/SEQUENCE
PLANNING – FINAL IDENT
Overall there are 12 shots that will make up my final ident that intend to produce.
Five, just under half, of the whole shots will be original footage that I will film
while the other shots will be animation that I will be creating/producing within
adobe software which will be the focal point of the ident as it includes the logo
and the majority of all the animation, visually appeal for the audience.
22. STORYBOARD/SEQUENCE
PLANNING – FINAL IDENT
Basic notes for each part of the storyboard about different shot types used:
1 – Establishing shot – Someone sat down
2 – Long shot – Someone sat down and their phone bleeps
3 – Close up – Message on phone
4 – Close up – Message on phone (Static Transition to animation)
5 – Animation - Logo
6 – Animation – Logo "I" Spin all the letters and then the letter I stops.
7 – Animation – Logo "G" Spins all the other letters apart from I, stops on G
8 – Animation – Logo "D" Spins all the other letters apart for I and G, stops on D
9 – Animation – Logo "R" Spins the last letter or block then final stops on the letter R so that
the logo is complete spelling the word GRID
10 – Animation – Logo Complete Spins, on final time all together
11 – Animation – Logo dings, sound effects as if you have won on an actual slot machine.
Logo slightly pulses.
12 – Long shot – Ends on shot of logo before it cuts out into darkness.
(New concept – blocks overflow at the end like it overflows in a slot machine, it then overflows
on the person at the end)
23. SOUND PLANNING
I was thinking for this sound planning that I was going to create and collect a
collection of sounds that I think are appropriate ident in which I am wanting to
produce and make but hold of on actually adding any sounds until the whole
production, filming and editing process is complete. This is so that once I
have a complete finished visual ident I can then break down said ident into
time sections and certain parts to where I want said sounds to go rather than
trying to create and make the ident in time and pace to the sound. I would
much rather that the ident make more sense to the audience in terms of a
visually style rather than an acoustically so that is fits more with the concept. I
think that by doing this process that it will be much easier for me. This also
works out better due to the fact that by have more than once sound effect for
the same sounds means I have much more creativity to develop the final
ident.
Here are a few of the sounds that I am considering using with the ident.
Slot Machine #1
Static #2
Jackpot
Phone #2
I will also be including a backing track to play over the duration of the ident.
24. TIMESCALE
Date Task
01/11/2017 - 14/11/2017 Complete idea generation and planning
document.
15/11/2017 - 3/12/2017 Complete final idea document, consisting
of 3 ident ideas as part of a ident suite,
while also complete planning and pre-
production for a final ident concept/idea.
Create some test footage for concept.
4/12/2017 - 8/12/2017 Film all footage needed for the ident. I
will most likely have the help of other
people, peers in my class to help me
with this part of the process.
9/12/2017 - 20/12/2017 Production – this is the actual process of
making the ident combining the original
footage as well as animation.
21/12/2017 Submission
25. RISK ASSESSMENT

of reach and don't obstruct walk
ways.
Dropping the camera The Equipment –

Both Make sure to pack all the
equipment away safely so that it
is okay to travel. So be aware of
other people and be aware of

so when using public transport
such as a bus.
26. CONTINGENCY PLAN
What Could Happen? Contingency Plan
Memory card is full or lost Ensure I have a backup card so I can
continue shooting.
Battery dies I will bring a spare battery and I will also
make sure that I have full charge before I
leave to shoot.
Lens could be damaged (scratch
from dust, dropping the camera
or a crack from negligence)
Use lens cap or put the camera away when
not using it for long periods of time. Be
cautious when using the camera and make
sure they you use the bag or neck straps and
if you are to use a tripod taken the camera of
every time you move position.
For some reason the location I
want is not accessible
I would find another location that is similar to
the first one and shoot there. I will of course
make sure that I can shoot there on the same
day if not that I will make sure to arrange
another day in which I can.
28. PRODUCTION LOG – PREMIER PRO
Due to unforeseen circumstance it meant that I couldn't film outside of college like I had
original tended to however still filmed but within the studio instead, this meant that I
couldn't film my footage in the way that I had planned, therefore I have less footage than I
instead to have and it deviates from the storyboard slightly. The concept and the motion
are still there however I have changed the shot and shot type to fit within the situation that
I was in. I filmed all of my footage within the a studio on a white background. I only had to
four shots that I need to included within the ident however I took more than that, for many
reasons such as wanting to experiment with different angles and shot types, to also taking
each shot twice so that I had another back up just in case for contingency reasons. Once
I had sorted and gone through all the footage, I then placed in within a timeline in
Premier Pro ready for the next stage of production.
29. PRODUCTION LOG – ANIMATION
PHOTOSHOP
I made the template of the logo within Photoshop. For the animation I wanted to make each
layer and letter spin so that it resembled a slot machine, as time went I wanted one letter at a
time to be releveled, this is explained visually in my storyboard. So therefore I had to separate
the logo into four separate parts, one part for each letter. I had great difficulty at first with this
animation more so when I was trying to separate the different words of the "GRID" so that they
could spin individually. For some reason why I was importing all the files from photoshop to
After Effects they were importing as single layers so that meant that the letters and the blocks
were not linked together this made it very confusing and near impossible for my to work using
key frames and layers within after effects. So I went back to the photoshop file and I merged
together both the blue block/rectangle together with the corresponding letter. Then when I
imported the photoshop file into after effects the layers were linked or merged together so I
had 4 separate layers rather than 8.
30. PRODUCTION LOG – AFTER
EFFECTS - SPIN
When I transferred each layer onto my timeline in after effects the first thing that I did was rename the layers with the
corresponding letter, this is so that it would be easier to refer back to as I add more layers to the timeline. The second thing that I
did was change the scale of each layer so that they were all the same size, which meant that it was much easer to join them
together towards the end of the sequence. I made each layer a square 80% so that they would all fit on the screen and be the
same size. To make each layer spin I first made to made each layer 3D to make it appear more smooth and authentic once I had
done this I could then just the rotation tool after testing it out, see slide 7, I found that the rotation tool to not be as sharp and
precise as I wish it could be so therefore to make the layers rotate I instead went to transformation and then orientation and use
that tool as part of a key frame, this meant that I could enter the numbers manually so that each layer could be edited to move at
the same time and the same angle degree.
When working in after effects I made the logo spin and be in time in the near exact way that I visualized in my storyboard planning
however it was to fast, the animation lasted 6 seconds. So this meant that I had go back and change the space between each key
frame so that it lasted longer, this wasn't as time consuming as I thought it would be as I just copied and pasted each key frame
and just adjusted the position on the timeline.
Using the key frame to get all the layers to move in time and as well as transition from a blank block to a block with a letter was
extremely time-consuming. I had to redo the whole sequence again as I forgot that the playback within After Effects isn't in real
time so therefore the speed in which I thought the first attempt wasn't actually the speed and it went nearly twice as fast which
meant that I then had to rearrange all the key frames so that the sequence was a fairly reasonable time.
31. PRODUCTION LOG
To create my text message animation I first created the layers within photoshop and then
imported the files into a new after effects compilation. At first I tired to use the 3d camera
track to make the layers move in sync with movement however this wouldn't work as it would
analyses the background but then fail the synchronization so therefore I moved onto another
method instead. This involved creating null objects to select the area of movement that I wish
to sync the layer and then linking them together. This my first time using this method so it
took several attempts to figure out how to sync all three layers together in time, as that was
the most difficult concept to try and work around but in the end I was happy with the sync and
the movement that I created within after effects
32. PRODUCTION LOG –
I then wanted to create a transition that would allow for the audience not only acoustically but
also visually see the transition between the animations. This was diffuclt to plan out at first
because I didn’t know how to replicate what I wanted Into physical form. I then settled for the
transition that is within the final product where the motion track than fades (due to me lower the
opcaity) so that the logo animation created within after effects can then be brought forward. This
was as mentioned before using the opacity and sync them in time so that as I lower the
opacity of the motion track (text messages) that the logo is brought forward however I didn't like
the first initial look of how this turned out but I concept was similar to what I envisioned so
therefore I add more movement by zooming into the phone then involved increasing the scale
but also using the puppet pin tools to move the text messages as individual across. So that it
look authentic when the zoom happened. This was with the intention that the you were being
transported within to the phone.
33. PRODUCTION LOG –
To create this flow of particles was one of the most easiest concepts of this whole project as I
just used the partial playground and then altered the different settings to create the desired
effect that I wanted. I created two different layers on for the block blocks and the other for the
letters. They were both used create particle playground however to create the letters I changed
the initial settings so that the particles would be the letters GRID. I then layered them up and
then imported this new composition within to the main project.
34. PRODUCTION LOG – SEQUENCE
Once I had edited and adjusted all of the changes to the footage I then imported them back into
Premier Pro, this was straightforward as I just substituted the old unedited footage with the new
clip within the timeline. One of the easiest things that I found when transfer the files over was
that when making the sequence it was a lot easier to make the transition appear in a smooth
motion between the real footage and the animation due to not have to adjust the colour gradient
as the footage was done within a studio setting and on a white background.
Once the footage was placed within the time the rest of the work was straightforward enough all
I had to do was adjust the time length of the animation, I made it longer than necessarily on
purpose and slot that into the timeline, because I had already added the first footage that I filmed
and edited into the document and therefore onto the timeline, it was very easily just to import the
last clips.
Once I had a completed timeline and an ident in terms of visually presentation that I was happy
within it then meant that I could move forward onto the last step which would be to add sound. I
did this by breaking down the clip within the timeline and writing down the time that I wished for a
new sound to start and end, as well as noting the duration of the sound effect as well.
Once I had complied a list, this was a rough guideline, I could then transfer them into premier
pro and incorporate them into the ident. By doing it this way I found it to be much easier, as I
already had all the clips ready and I knew where I wanted them and how long for. There was
some adjustments needed such as the time line and the crossover of different sound effects
however the majority of it surprisingly was near exact to the sound document.
35. PRODUCTION LOG - SOFTWARE & FILE
MANAGEMENT
In terms of file management for this project it was fairly straight forward as I kept everything in
the same file online in Google Docs as part of my college email. This made it a lot more easier
for me to access all my work both in and out of college but also to be able to access planning
document to ether reference or to edit and change as Microsoft products such as PowerPoints
and Word are available online. I kept all my footage online as well as a folder on my desktop,
it was much easier to keep the footage on my desktop when I was editing at college as it
meant that I wouldn't lose any footage when editing in adobe applications such as After Effects
and Premier Pro.
The software in which I have used for the projects are:
Photoshop
After Effects
Premier Pro
I also used YouTube to upload my work as well as YouTube and a converter to get sound clips
that I wished/used within the project.
The final sequence was saved as follows: 1920x1080 25fps and the file format was .MOV
However when I exported the project/sequence so that I could upload it onto YouTube as a
form of distribution I exported the film as 1080x720 25fps and the file format was .MP4
Final sequence(s) saved must be in 1920x1080 25fps .MOV
Export for YouTube in 1080x720 25fps .MP4
36. PRODUCTION LOG - QUALITY
CONTROL
How have you gone about maintaining a high quality product through your
process and production?
I believe that the way in which I was able to create a product in this case an ident to the
standard in which I have is through time management which has allowed for me much
more time to be able to go over the process and production with much more attention
and detail. What I mean by this is that by breaking down the overall production process
into sections such as pre-production this included planning, where I also created the logo
in which I used in the ident as well as finding the sound effects to help me visualize in a
clearer way about how I wanted the ident to look. Then I also broke the whole process
down into another section which was the filming. Do to my planning I knew what I
wanted to film and the type of shots that I wanted so it was easier to go out and get said
footage, to keep up with the high standards that I wanted for the product I also had
someone look over all my footage before I exported onto the MAC to make sure that it
was all clear and the shots where in focus. I then created the first part of the ident with
the original footage and then once that was complete and my peer within my class
throughout that it was also up to a good standard of work I moved onto the final part of
the visual element of the project which was the animation. Once I had done the
animation I then added the sound. The reason that I believe that this was one of the
smoothest projects to make and produce was because I broke the process down into
sections and got other people to peer access and help me to develop each section
before I moved on so that the consistency in the work was the same throughout and I
wouldn't need to go back on myself towards the end of the project. Export at the correct
settings so that it fits the cliental and audience brief.
37. PRODUCTION LOG - TIME
MANAGEMENT
As mentioned before I spilt up the project into different sections, this wasn't time managed as
much as the overall sections such as production though it did fall into that category. The
overall time management did allow for my to separate the pre-production and production so
that I had an understanding and idea of what I wanted to create so that when I went into the
actual production process of making and editing the ident I wasn't going in blind and creating
it of a whim, I had a detailed plan. This helped me, especially with elements where I was
filming my original footage as I gave myself a week longer than other peers in my class for
my planning and pre-production so that I could go into more detail. This meant that I could
create a detailed shot by shot list of what I wanted to film so it only took my 2 hours as I
filmed each shot more than once just for contingency purposes. I also found it much easier to
just create the ident and then because I had worked to my timeline that I set out I had two
days where I could then add sound to fit the ident and due to the fact that I broke that down
into a time scale and I had already found sound effects, again more than one for contingency
purposes, it made it a lot less time consuming to create the final ident with sound.
This style in which worked with by breaking down each section is something that I will
implement and use moving forward with other projects as I found this has worked much
better for me.
38. PRODUCTION LOG - FITNESS FOR
PURPOSE
Looking back at the overall sequence and the general ideas that I had didn't match the end product in the
way that I wished for them to look for various reasons. This meant that when reviewing the end product
that for me the concept and the theme fit and worked well for the demographic and also the target
audience but when everything came together and if it where to be broadcasted it would fit more for an
art/abstract cliental.
If I had more time or I could come back to improve this pecie than one of the things I would do would be
to make the animation a lot more smoother in transition and at the end of the animation make the blocks
move up so that the fill the screen.
I wanted to incorporate some for of motion or camera track and I tried to do this via a text message
animation I felt that it worked well for a first attempt but looking back it don't work for this project due to
the excuation, which again is something I could look on to further improve now that I have learnt that skill
within Photoshop and After Effects.
In contrast the ident is not as clean cut if you were to compare it to the likes of overall ident packages on
a more professional scale such as Sky One and BBC One. My ident features a lot more motion graphics
and less live action shot elements to it as well. This makes it more unique and can therefore be a plus
when trying to stand out within the target market you can also argue though by having it more unique
compared to other idents already distributed that it could alienate to a more niche market rather than a
universal one.
39. PRODUCTION LOG - LEGAL &
ETHICAL
In regards to legal and ethical issues I have tried to worked around
and componsate them as much as possible and to do this I have
done it by creating my own sounds/backing track using garage band
but I have also used sounds found online but I have used websites
where the sounds that are download are royalty free and have been
specified that they can be used for distribution, this is the same for
the font that I have used as well.
I made everything myself so there is not issue over copyright and I
also made sure to research if the concept was already available I
have found idents with similar style that I have used for inspiration
but nothing that could be later classed as plagiarism.
Due to the fact that the ident will be uploaded not only onto YouTube
but also my blog I made sure that the actors involved within the ident
were informed and okay with the way in which I intened to broadcast
the end product.
