EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
Client Residual Balances Cashier
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer - London December 2014 – Current
● Responsible for reviewing client residual balances from data held within the Practice
Management System
● Assessing client information, and following the firm’s procedures in relation to repaying the
balance or offsetting against costs
● Reviewing data retrieved from archives while following the firm’s process in accordance
with SRAAR 2011
● Responsible for maintaining accurate spreadsheets containing detailed information with
regard to each stage of the process
● Researching client information via ‘Client Matter Search’ to establish the current standing of
the client within the firm, and establishing the appointed partner
● Establish contact with partners advising them of residual balances held, gaining
authorisation to contact the client to return the balance or transfer to Charity.
● Responsible for the completion of payment forms, and arranging authorisation from
partners.
● Processing CHAPS payments to reimburse client money
Having the responsibility of clearing the firm’s residual balances has enabled me to;
● Communicate effectively with partners and management.
● Take ownership of a client balance, calculating any interest due and processing payments
via PMS.
● Provided me with a basic understanding of client accounting.
Cashiering
I have also continued to support the Cashiers function over the past 17 months as follows:
● Responsible for reconciliation of client accounts.
● Ordering and distributing currency requests.
● Processing invoices via the firms accounting package.
● Responsible for the distribution of cashiers post.
● Filing and adhoc duties.
● Processing of the firms Accounts Payable invoices.
Cashiers Assistant

● Responsible for the processing of weekly expenses.
● Dealing with the currency requests and returns.
● Statement updating - Liaising with external clients in respect of missing invoices not
received into the firm.
● Client bank reconciliation - Manual reconciliation of the firm’s client bank accounts, liaising
with the team regarding any outstanding entries.
● Responsible for missing expense reports - Reconciling the paid expense report and
identifying any missing entries.
● General administration duties.
