I am a registered urban planner (MSc.) specialized
in port city development, marina development,
coastal master planning and waterfront planning.
Within our Maritime department of RHDHV, I planned,
conceptually designed and coordinated various coastal
, urban waterfront and marina development projects all
over the world. I have the skills to develop integrated
strategies, visions and concepts merging coastal,
maritime engineering, port planning with the traditional
urban planning. By working over 8 years in an
engineering department, I have become a specialist on
the edge between land and water. I have cooperated
with a wide range of clients & architectural firms in
China, Korea, Philippines, Tanzania, Namibia, Bulgaria,
USA, Tunisia, Kuwait, UAE, Qatar, Israel, Ukraine and
the Netherlands. With my enthusiasm, training skills,
knowledge about engineering, planning and the
development of world class waterfront projects, I can
generate and develop innovative solutions.

Salmiya Marina
> 2015-to date, Kuwait
Planner and concept designer of a 1200 berth marina in
Kuwait. The concept is based on the extension of the existing
Salmiya marina. The project was executed in close
cooperation with Gensler architects in Abu Dhabi.
Integrated Spatial concept for barrier in Myanmar
> 2015-to date, Peru
Conceptual designer and planner of the Pan Haing River
Barrier in Yangon Myanmar. The integration of the barrier
being an interface between two various types of city
development was the most important element of the
conceptual design. The barrier will become part of a large
public network, a river front park.
Marina Lima
> 2015-to date, Peru
Planner and concept designer of a 25 berth marina in Lima.
Varna waterfront development.
> 2015-to date, Bulgaria
Master Planner and concept designer for the development of
a marina and cruise terminal for the city of Varna. The
assignment includes the development of an overall vision for
the redevelopment of the port area into urban waterfront
development. The new marina and cruise terminal will be
merged with the future waterfront. The project has been
commissioned by the Ports Authority and executed by a team
of specialists from the Netherlands and Bulgaria.
Modernisation Mwanza North Passenger Terminal
> 2015-to date, Tanzania
Concept designer for the modernization of the Mwanza North
Passenger Terminal. The project has been commissioned by
the Tanzania Ports Authority and executed by a team of
specialists from the Netherlands.
Feasibility study for a floating rowing boat platform in the
river Waal
> 2015-to 2015, Nijmegen
The development of spatial and technical concepts for a
floating platform (70x5 meter) to make a connection between
a boat storage house and the river possible. The concepts are
complex due to large fluctuations of the water levels, slope of
the dike, high currents during wet seasons and user
requirements. The boats up to 18 meters long should easily
being transferred from the boat house (16m+) to the river
(5m+).
Kigoma port extension development project
> 2015-to date, Tanzania
Spatial planner for the development of three conceptual port
layouts. The layouts are designed to be developed in phases
and merged with the municipal and urban context of Kigoma.
The new port layouts are based on market forecast analysis
scenarios and the development of a dry inland terminal along
the national rail system to Dares Salaam. The project has
been commissioned by the Tanzania Ports Authority and
executed by a team of specialists from the Netherlands.
Zliten port development project
> 2015-to date, Libya
Spatial planner for the development of 3 conceptual coastal
port layouts. The layouts will are designed to be developed in
phases. The new port layouts are based on various market
forecast analysis scenarios and considerations to build a port
on the existing land site or claim land into the sea. The project
has been commissioned by the Libyan Ports and Maritime
Transport Authority and executed by a team of specialists
from the Netherlands and Libya.
Kisarawe rail / container terminal development project
> 2015-to date, Tanzania
Spatial planner for the development of 3 conceptual rail /
container terminal layouts. The rail terminal will be developed
in the centre where two rail systems with different track width
dimensions will meet. The conceptual layouts are based on
variable approaches of the different rail systems. The project
has been commissioned by the Tanzania Ports Authority and
executed by a team of specialists from the Netherlands.
Walvis Bay Waterfront and Marina Development Project
> 2014-to 2015, Namibia

Project Leader, Master Planner for the development of a
feasible waterfront and marina development plan in Walvisbay
Namibia. The project has been commissioned by Namport
and executed by a team of specialists from the Netherlands
and MLA architects.
Xiamen Yachting Industrial Master plan
> 2014-to 2014, China
Project Leader, Master Planner for the development of an
Industrial yachting master plan for the city of Xiamen. The
assignment includes the analysis of the total industrial chain,
development of a routing network and the development of 3
integrated marina concepts. The project has been
commissioned by the Xiamen municipal planning bureau and
executed by a team of specialists from the Netherlands and
China.
Feasibility study for a dry / wet yachting network
connection between the river `Oude Rijn` and North Sea.
> 2014-to 2014, Katwijk
The development of spatial and technical concepts to make a
connection for yachts between the Oude Rijn and north sea
coast possible. The concepts are complex due to the dense
urban, ecological environment and the complexity of coastal
and river water systems. The river is closed off by a barrier
that will only be opened to discharge large volumes of fresh
water when necessary. For the development of the concepts
dry (slipways & cranes) and water (locks with by passes)
connections have been developed and assessed by a swot
analysis. The project has been commissioned by the province
of South Holland.
Master Plan Abonnema Development
> 2014-to date, Nigeria
Spatial Planner for the development of a free zone in
Port Harcourt in Nigeria.
Consultancy services for the Construction of Amiri
Yachts Marina (Design Competition)
> 2013-to 2014, Qatar
Conceptual designer for the marina and nautical program for
the development of the design of the front of house (FOH)
and Back of House (BOH) of the Amiri Yachts Marina in
Qatar. The project is executed by a team of specialists of
Royal HaskoningDHV and Architects from UN Studio.
Integrated Flood Control and Coastal Defense Project of
Manila Bay
> 2013-to date, Philippines
Lead Master Planner for the development of an integrated
flood control and urban waterfront scheme for the key note
area of the project (10 km2), Identification of opportunities and
preparation a land use plan for the port development and the
development of a visionary regional coastal defence ann
waterfront plan.
New York Rebuilt by Design Competition
> 2013-to 2014, USA
Strategic Waterfront and Water Resilient Development
Advisor for the `Rebuilt by Design Competition` to make the
hurricane Sandy affected region more resilient, specifically
focusing on New York City itself. The team led by OMA
consist of specialists of RHDHV, R/GA, Balmori Associates
and HR&A Advisors. The project has been commissioned by
The Hurricane Sandy Rebuilding Task Force in America the
U.S. Department of Housing and Development (HUD).
Portsmouth Coastal Scheme Development
> 2013-to date, United Kingdom
Design, Creativity and Innovation Manager for the Appraisal
and design of preferred Coastal Flood and Erosion Risk
Management scheme options for the South sea and North
Portsea Island Coastline. The main task it to merge the
scheme with the revitalisation of the city urban waterfront,
creating a safe environment and added value living and
recreation.
Port Mole Fishing Port Development
> 2013-to 2013, Gabon
Conceptual Designer & Planner of a temporary fishing port in
the southern marina in Port Môle. The design is based to offer
the right facilities and structures to support the local fishermen
in landing their catch and providing safe berthing. The design

is based on a structure to be re-used in the future for the
development of a luxurious urban marina.
RDM Shipyard Rotterdam Revitalisation
> 2012-to 2013, Netherlands
Conceptual designer for the redevelopment of two old finger
piers in the formal RDM shipyard. The design will strengthen
the waterfront boulevard functions. The design will be robust
in order to suit the local port identity.
Mauritius Coastal Development
> 2012-to 2012, Mauritius
Coastal and Waterfront Development Advisor for the
development of 400 hectares urban development in Mauritius.
Red Line underground Stations Tel Aviv
> 2011-to 2013, Israel
Project Coordinator and (in Tel Aviv) for the `Red Line
Subway Project`. The assignment consists of the design of 10
underground stations. NTA selected the DHV and Canada's
IBI Group Inc. to plan and engineer the underground stations.
The scope of work consists of preliminary and final design of
the 10 underground stations, to be integrated with the
development of the tunnel, tunnel services including the civil
works. The approach is based on an integrated perspective
where planning, design and engineering go hand in hand with
research, analysis and the decision-making process.
International Cruise Terminal Design Guidelines,
Brussels
> 2011-to date, Belgium
Strategic Advisor in an international team of expert
consultants responsible for the development of the
international design guidelines for cruise terminals. The
guidelines will be developed for PIANC, the world association
for waterborne transport infrastructure.
Development of 9 `Coastal Havens` Kuwait
> 2010-to date, Kuwait
Project leader, master planner and conceptual designer for
the development of a master plan and spatial concepts for
nine coastal havens `NIKAS` along the coast of Kuwait. The
main purpose of the new coastal ports will be to facilitate
private yachts, as well as private and commercial fishing
vessels. Next to that, the Coastal ports will provide facilities to
receive and handle coastal passenger ships and serve as a
homeport for a variety of state-owned public service crafts.
Water Resilient Development Principles
> 2012, Netherlands
Strategic urban development advisor for water resilient
development concepts/solutions for the Ministry of Transport
and Environment.
Urban Marina Development along the Desna Riverfront
> 2011-to 2012,Ukraine
Project leader and conceptual designer of a marina integrated
in urban Master Plan along the Desna River. The design is
based on the implementation of a marina in an urban
waterfront, dealing with spatial aspects and water systems.
The plan also offers the necessary yachting facilities and can
be developed in phases.
Urban Desna Riverfront Development
> 2011-to 2012,Ukraine
Project leader for the integration of an urban master plan with
the Desna River in Kiev. The project area is about 50 ha and
will accommodate residential units, varying between
apartments and luxurious villas. It is a site with a strong
relation with the river offering waterfront and recreational
opportunities for its future residents.

Coastal Marina Waterfront development, Caofeidian
> 2010-to 2011, China
Conceptual designer and master planner for a coastal
restaurant and marina in Caofeidian China. This restaurant
and marina will be located along the Bohai sea and will
become a landmark of the future urban waterfront.

Development of Marina Tarara. Consultancy to provide
specific expertise on development of the marina for luxury
yachts, including infrastructure aspects and marina
management exploitation model
Brooklyn Rotterdam Waterfront Exchange Workshop
> 2010, USA
Conceptual designer and master planner of the Atlantic Basin
for the New York Brooklyn Rotterdam Waterfront Exchange
workshop. The design was based on the transformation and
regeneration of an old port into a new integrated urban
waterfront hub.
Program development for the Rotterdam Urban Summit
> 2009, Netherlands
Concept and program Developer of the sustainable city
planning strategy (9 items) for the Urban Summit Conference
in Rotterdam. This strategy was developed for the Rotterdam
Climate Initiative and presented by the Rotterdam
Government on a C40 conference in Seoul in May 2009.
Yonguam Barrier Bridge and Waterfront
> 2009-to 2010, Korea
Conceptual designer and master planner of the `Yongam
Barrier Bridge` in the South of Korea. The integration of the
barrier bridge with the surrounding landscape and future
waterfront of the city was the most important element of the
conceptual design.
Paramaribo Waterfront Development
> 2009, Suriname
Conceptual designer and master planner for the development
of a waterfront concept for the city of Paramaribo in Suriname.
The concept combines an urban waterfront program with flood
prevention. A new small dike will become a new urban
network along the river combined with recreational programs.
Cangzhou Port City Development
> 2009, China
Conceptual designer and master planner of a strategy for the
port city of Cangzhou in the Hebei province. Water, phasing
and the integration of the port and the city is the main
strategy.
River Water management and Waterfront Development,
Korea
> 2010-to 2011, Korea
Conceptual designer of three integral river waterfront
concepts. The integration of waterfront development and
water management was the starting point for the concepts.
Urban Floating Development Rijnhaven
> 2009, Netherlands
Development of a vision and strategy for floating urban
development in the historical ports in the city of Rotterdam.
The vision is based to create added value from the
perspective of the waterfront.
Sustainable Challenges for Metropolitan Cities, Seoul
> 2009, Korea
Theoretical designer of the theme for the C40 working
conference in Rotterdam (Dec 2009). The Rotterdam Climate
Initiative presented this theme, in May 2009, on the C40
conference in Seoul.
Shenzhen Cruise Industrial Masterplan
> 2008-to 2009, China
The Municipality of Shenzhen is investigating new economic
drivers to further strengthen its position in the Pearl River
Delta. Cruise and yachting are capital intensive economic
activities with a modern and leisure exposure profile. The
ports Administration Bureau of Shenzhen Municipal
Government assigned DHV to investigate the domestic
market, to benchmark Shenzhen with international and
regional cases and to earmark challenges and potential for
Shenzhen to develop the industries. The result of the study is
a practical and dedicated Action Plan for Shenzhen
Government.
Urban Waterfront Program NDSM Shipyard, Amsterdam
> 2008, Netherlands
Advisor and conceptual designer for the waterfront program of
NDSM Amsterdam. The existing plan was reviewed from a

program.
Dutch Perspective New Orleans
> 2008, USA
Strategic Urban Planning and Coastal Development Advisor
in the Dutch Dialog II workshop in New Orleans. Dutch and
American engineers have worked in New Orleans to improve
the flood protection infrastructure around New Orleans in
combination with urban development.
Saemangeum Coastal Development Masterplan
> 2008, Korea
Strategic Urban Coastal Development Advisor for the Berlage
institute with the Saemangeum master plan design
competition. The Korean government asked eight knowledge
institutes to design a master plan for the Saemengeum area.
The concept was based on sustainable land reclamation,
fresh, brackish and salt water management systems
diversifying the delta landscape, public uses of the waterfront.

Development of the Dynamic Waterfront Concept
> 2008, Netherlands
Concept Developer for waterfront development dealing with
dynamic water systems. The concept is a strategy to integrate
water in complex urban and natural environments. The
Concept was presented at the `Jonge Delta Commissie` in
The Hague and praised as one of the most innovative
solutions to deal with water in complex environment.
Caofeidian Eco Port City Master Plan
> 2007-to 2008, China
Conceptual designer and master planner for an eco-port city
of Caofeidian. The plan is based on the development of a
coastal dike, development islands and a controlled water
system. Caofeidian can be considered as the largest port city
development in the North of China
Shenzhen Cruise Terminal Master Plan
> 2007, China
Development of a vision for the waterfront and cruise terminal
in Shenzhen Shekou. The plan consisted of the integration of
land and water based infrastructure, public and port
operational spaces. The new building should be
multifunctional to support urban uses and be able to operate
and support cruise liners.
Yachting and maritime Tourism Development Plan, Al
Raha Beach Project
2007-2008, United Arab Emirates
Abu Dhabi. Waterfront Development Advisor for the
elaboration of a new strategic development plan for yachting
in Abu Dhabi assigned by the major project developer of Abu
Dhabi.
Hangang Renaissance International Symposium, Seoul
> 2007, Korea
Development of the key success factors for urban waterfront
development. These factors were presented by RHDHV on
the Hangang Renaissance International Symposium.
The Hangang Renaissance Project is based on the idea of a
“Creative Seoul,” a central goal pursued by the Seoul
Metropolitan Government.
Tianjin Delta Diamonds Master Plan
> 2007-to 2009, China
Strategic Urban Planning, Coastal & Waterfront Development
Advisor for the Tianjin Coastal Development Masterplan. The
plan was based on an integrated coastal and urban
development strategy optimizing the spatial quality, water
management systems, water uses, landscape development,
civil and coastal reclamation works.

Shanghai Jiao Tong Campus Master Plan (TU Delft)

Final TU Delft graduation project. The project consisted of the
development of a Master Plan for the historic campus,
situated in the city center of Shanghai. The project was part of

One month research project between the TU Delft, IUAV and
the municipality of Venice Italy. The research project was
about improving the infrastructure around the city of Mestre.
Urban planning strategies were also introduced to relieve the

Within our Maritime department of RHDHV, I planned, conceptually designed and coordinated various coastal , urban waterfront and marina development projects all over the world. I have the skills to develop integrated strategies, visions and concepts merging coastal, maritime engineering, port planning with the traditional urban planning. By working over 8 years in an engineering department, I have become a specialist on the edge between land and water. The concept is based on the extension of the existing Salmiya marina. The project was executed in close cooperation with Gensler architects in Abu Dhabi. Integrated Spatial concept for barrier in Myanmar > 2015-to date, Peru Conceptual designer and planner of the Pan Haing River Barrier in Yangon Myanmar. The integration of the barrier being an interface between two various types of city development was the most important element of the conceptual design. The barrier will become part of a large public network, a river front park. Marina Lima > 2015-to date, Peru Planner and concept designer of a 25 berth marina in Lima. Varna waterfront development. > 2015-to date, Bulgaria Master Planner and concept designer for the development of a marina and cruise terminal for the city of Varna. The assignment includes the development of an overall vision for the redevelopment of the port area into urban waterfront development. The new marina and cruise terminal will be merged with the future waterfront. The project has been commissioned by the Ports Authority and executed by a team of specialists from the Netherlands and Bulgaria. Modernisation Mwanza North Passenger Terminal > 2015-to date, Tanzania Concept designer for the modernization of the Mwanza North Passenger Terminal. The project has been commissioned by the Tanzania Ports Authority and executed by a team of specialists from the Netherlands. Feasibility study for a floating rowing boat platform in the river Waal > 2015-to 2015, Nijmegen The development of spatial and technical concepts for a floating platform (70x5 meter) to make a connection between a boat storage house and the river possible. The concepts are complex due to large fluctuations of the water levels, slope of the dike, high currents during wet seasons and user requirements. The boats up to 18 meters long should easily being transferred from the boat house (16m+) to the river (5m+). Kigoma port extension development project > 2015-to date, Tanzania Spatial planner for the development of three conceptual port layouts. The layouts are designed to be developed in phases and merged with the municipal and urban context of Kigoma. The new port layouts are based on market forecast analysis scenarios and the development of a dry inland terminal along the national rail system to Dares Salaam. The project has been commissioned by the Tanzania Ports Authority and executed by a team of specialists from the Netherlands. Zliten port development project > 2015-to date, Libya Spatial planner for the development of 3 conceptual coastal port layouts. The layouts will are designed to be developed in phases. The new port layouts are based on various market forecast analysis scenarios and considerations to build a port on the existing land site or claim land into the sea. The project has been commissioned by the Libyan Ports and Maritime Transport Authority and executed by a team of specialists from the Netherlands and Libya. Kisarawe rail / container terminal development project > 2015-to date, Tanzania Spatial planner for the development of 3 conceptual rail / container terminal layouts. The rail terminal will be developed in the centre where two rail systems with different track width dimensions will meet. The conceptual layouts are based on variable approaches of the different rail systems. The project has been commissioned by the Tanzania Ports Authority and executed by a team of specialists from the Netherlands. Walvis Bay Waterfront and Marina Development Project > 2014-to 2015, Namibia

The project has been commissioned by Namport and executed by a team of specialists from the Netherlands and MLA architects. Xiamen Yachting Industrial Master plan > 2014-to 2014, China Project Leader, Master Planner for the development of an Industrial yachting master plan for the city of Xiamen. The assignment includes the analysis of the total industrial chain, development of a routing network and the development of 3 integrated marina concepts. The project has been commissioned by the Xiamen municipal planning bureau and executed by a team of specialists from the Netherlands and China. Feasibility study for a dry / wet yachting network connection between the river `Oude Rijn` and North Sea. > 2014-to 2014, Katwijk The development of spatial and technical concepts to make a connection for yachts between the Oude Rijn and north sea coast possible. The concepts are complex due to the dense urban, ecological environment and the complexity of coastal and river water systems. The river is closed off by a barrier that will only be opened to discharge large volumes of fresh water when necessary. For the development of the concepts dry (slipways & cranes) and water (locks with by passes) connections have been developed and assessed by a swot analysis. The project has been commissioned by the province of South Holland. Master Plan Abonnema Development > 2014-to date, Nigeria Spatial Planner for the development of a free zone in Port Harcourt in Nigeria. Consultancy services for the Construction of Amiri Yachts Marina (Design Competition) > 2013-to 2014, Qatar Conceptual designer for the marina and nautical program for the development of the design of the front of house (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) of the Amiri Yachts Marina in Qatar. The project is executed by a team of specialists of Royal HaskoningDHV and Architects from UN Studio. Integrated Flood Control and Coastal Defense Project of Manila Bay > 2013-to date, Philippines Lead Master Planner for the development of an integrated flood control and urban waterfront scheme for the key note area of the project (10 km2), Identification of opportunities and preparation a land use plan for the port development and the development of a visionary regional coastal defence ann waterfront plan. New York Rebuilt by Design Competition > 2013-to 2014, USA Strategic Waterfront and Water Resilient Development Advisor for the `Rebuilt by Design Competition` to make the hurricane Sandy affected region more resilient, specifically focusing on New York City itself. The team led by OMA consist of specialists of RHDHV, R/GA, Balmori Associates and HR&A Advisors. The project has been commissioned by The Hurricane Sandy Rebuilding Task Force in America the U.S. Department of Housing and Development (HUD). Portsmouth Coastal Scheme Development > 2013-to date, United Kingdom Design, Creativity and Innovation Manager for the Appraisal and design of preferred Coastal Flood and Erosion Risk Management scheme options for the South sea and North Portsea Island Coastline. The main task it to merge the scheme with the revitalisation of the city urban waterfront, creating a safe environment and added value living and recreation. Port Mole Fishing Port Development > 2013-to 2013, Gabon Conceptual Designer & Planner of a temporary fishing port in the southern marina in Port Môle. The design is based to offer the right facilities and structures to support the local fishermen in landing their catch and providing safe berthing. The design

RDM Shipyard Rotterdam Revitalisation > 2012-to 2013, Netherlands Conceptual designer for the redevelopment of two old finger piers in the formal RDM shipyard. The design will strengthen the waterfront boulevard functions. The design will be robust in order to suit the local port identity. Mauritius Coastal Development > 2012-to 2012, Mauritius Coastal and Waterfront Development Advisor for the development of 400 hectares urban development in Mauritius. Red Line underground Stations Tel Aviv > 2011-to 2013, Israel Project Coordinator and (in Tel Aviv) for the `Red Line Subway Project`. The assignment consists of the design of 10 underground stations. NTA selected the DHV and Canada's IBI Group Inc. to plan and engineer the underground stations. The scope of work consists of preliminary and final design of the 10 underground stations, to be integrated with the development of the tunnel, tunnel services including the civil works. The approach is based on an integrated perspective where planning, design and engineering go hand in hand with research, analysis and the decision-making process. International Cruise Terminal Design Guidelines, Brussels > 2011-to date, Belgium Strategic Advisor in an international team of expert consultants responsible for the development of the international design guidelines for cruise terminals. The guidelines will be developed for PIANC, the world association for waterborne transport infrastructure. Development of 9 `Coastal Havens` Kuwait > 2010-to date, Kuwait Project leader, master planner and conceptual designer for the development of a master plan and spatial concepts for nine coastal havens `NIKAS` along the coast of Kuwait. The main purpose of the new coastal ports will be to facilitate private yachts, as well as private and commercial fishing vessels. Next to that, the Coastal ports will provide facilities to receive and handle coastal passenger ships and serve as a homeport for a variety of state-owned public service crafts. Water Resilient Development Principles > 2012, Netherlands Strategic urban development advisor for water resilient development concepts/solutions for the Ministry of Transport and Environment. Urban Marina Development along the Desna Riverfront > 2011-to 2012,Ukraine Project leader and conceptual designer of a marina integrated in urban Master Plan along the Desna River. The design is based on the implementation of a marina in an urban waterfront, dealing with spatial aspects and water systems. The plan also offers the necessary yachting facilities and can be developed in phases. Urban Desna Riverfront Development > 2011-to 2012,Ukraine Project leader for the integration of an urban master plan with the Desna River in Kiev. The project area is about 50 ha and will accommodate residential units, varying between apartments and luxurious villas. It is a site with a strong relation with the river offering waterfront and recreational opportunities for its future residents. Department Quality Manager > 2008-to 2011, Netherlands Quality Manager (ISO:9001) for the RHDHV department of Ports, Waterways and Coastal Development. Coastal Marina Waterfront development, Caofeidian > 2010-to 2011, China Conceptual designer and master planner for a coastal restaurant and marina in Caofeidian China. This restaurant and marina will be located along the Bohai sea and will become a landmark of the future urban waterfront.

Consultancy to provide specific expertise on development of the marina for luxury yachts, including infrastructure aspects and marina management exploitation model Brooklyn Rotterdam Waterfront Exchange Workshop > 2010, USA Conceptual designer and master planner of the Atlantic Basin for the New York Brooklyn Rotterdam Waterfront Exchange workshop. The design was based on the transformation and regeneration of an old port into a new integrated urban waterfront hub. Program development for the Rotterdam Urban Summit > 2009, Netherlands Concept and program Developer of the sustainable city planning strategy (9 items) for the Urban Summit Conference in Rotterdam. This strategy was developed for the Rotterdam Climate Initiative and presented by the Rotterdam Government on a C40 conference in Seoul in May 2009. Yonguam Barrier Bridge and Waterfront > 2009-to 2010, Korea Conceptual designer and master planner of the `Yongam Barrier Bridge` in the South of Korea. The integration of the barrier bridge with the surrounding landscape and future waterfront of the city was the most important element of the conceptual design. Paramaribo Waterfront Development > 2009, Suriname Conceptual designer and master planner for the development of a waterfront concept for the city of Paramaribo in Suriname. The concept combines an urban waterfront program with flood prevention. A new small dike will become a new urban network along the river combined with recreational programs. Cangzhou Port City Development > 2009, China Conceptual designer and master planner of a strategy for the port city of Cangzhou in the Hebei province. Water, phasing and the integration of the port and the city is the main strategy. River Water management and Waterfront Development, Korea > 2010-to 2011, Korea Conceptual designer of three integral river waterfront concepts. The integration of waterfront development and water management was the starting point for the concepts. Urban Floating Development Rijnhaven > 2009, Netherlands Development of a vision and strategy for floating urban development in the historical ports in the city of Rotterdam. The vision is based to create added value from the perspective of the waterfront. Sustainable Challenges for Metropolitan Cities, Seoul > 2009, Korea Theoretical designer of the theme for the C40 working conference in Rotterdam (Dec 2009). The Rotterdam Climate Initiative presented this theme, in May 2009, on the C40 conference in Seoul. Shenzhen Cruise Industrial Masterplan > 2008-to 2009, China The Municipality of Shenzhen is investigating new economic drivers to further strengthen its position in the Pearl River Delta. Cruise and yachting are capital intensive economic activities with a modern and leisure exposure profile. The ports Administration Bureau of Shenzhen Municipal Government assigned DHV to investigate the domestic market, to benchmark Shenzhen with international and regional cases and to earmark challenges and potential for Shenzhen to develop the industries. The result of the study is a practical and dedicated Action Plan for Shenzhen Government. Urban Waterfront Program NDSM Shipyard, Amsterdam > 2008, Netherlands Advisor and conceptual designer for the waterfront program of NDSM Amsterdam. The existing plan was reviewed from a

Dutch Perspective New Orleans > 2008, USA Strategic Urban Planning and Coastal Development Advisor in the Dutch Dialog II workshop in New Orleans. Dutch and American engineers have worked in New Orleans to improve the flood protection infrastructure around New Orleans in combination with urban development. Saemangeum Coastal Development Masterplan > 2008, Korea Strategic Urban Coastal Development Advisor for the Berlage institute with the Saemangeum master plan design competition. The Korean government asked eight knowledge institutes to design a master plan for the Saemengeum area. The concept was based on sustainable land reclamation, fresh, brackish and salt water management systems diversifying the delta landscape, public uses of the waterfront. July 2008 to October 2008 Development of the Dynamic Waterfront Concept > 2008, Netherlands Concept Developer for waterfront development dealing with dynamic water systems. The concept is a strategy to integrate water in complex urban and natural environments. The Concept was presented at the `Jonge Delta Commissie` in The Hague and praised as one of the most innovative solutions to deal with water in complex environment. Caofeidian Eco Port City Master Plan > 2007-to 2008, China Conceptual designer and master planner for an eco-port city of Caofeidian. The plan is based on the development of a coastal dike, development islands and a controlled water system. Caofeidian can be considered as the largest port city development in the North of China Shenzhen Cruise Terminal Master Plan > 2007, China Development of a vision for the waterfront and cruise terminal in Shenzhen Shekou. The plan consisted of the integration of land and water based infrastructure, public and port operational spaces. The new building should be multifunctional to support urban uses and be able to operate and support cruise liners. Yachting and maritime Tourism Development Plan, Al Raha Beach Project 2007-2008, United Arab Emirates Abu Dhabi. Waterfront Development Advisor for the elaboration of a new strategic development plan for yachting in Abu Dhabi assigned by the major project developer of Abu Dhabi. Hangang Renaissance International Symposium, Seoul > 2007, Korea Development of the key success factors for urban waterfront development. These factors were presented by RHDHV on the Hangang Renaissance International Symposium. The Hangang Renaissance Project is based on the idea of a “Creative Seoul,” a central goal pursued by the Seoul Metropolitan Government. Tianjin Delta Diamonds Master Plan > 2007-to 2009, China Strategic Urban Planning, Coastal & Waterfront Development Advisor for the Tianjin Coastal Development Masterplan. The plan was based on an integrated coastal and urban development strategy optimizing the spatial quality, water management systems, water uses, landscape development, civil and coastal reclamation works.
