Gap Report ranks In-
dia low at 135th place
out of 146 countries
reflecting the gender gap that ex-
ists in the country
. It has, how-
ever, improved upon its 140th
rank of last year. Afghanistan,
where women have no freedom,
Pakistan, Congo, Iran and Chad
are placed below India. Much of
the disparity in India exists due
to patriarchy and discrimination
againstgirls,despitetheprogress
madeon“economicparticipation
and opportunity”. The report
said, “With a female population
of approximately 662 million, In-
dia’s level of attainment weighs
heavily on regional rankings.”
While women’s participation as
legislators, senior officials and
managers increased from 14.6
percent to 17.6 percent, their par-
ticipation in the labour force fell.
The health and survival sub-
index is where India needs to
work hard for improving its
score. In this category India is
among the five countries with
gender gap larger than 5 percent
and is ranked 146th , the lowest,
along with Qatar, Pakistan,
Azerbaijan and China.

National Initiatives to
Curb the Gender Violence.
Setting up National Commis-
sion for Women (1992), Reser-
vation to women in local self
government (73rd Constitu-
tional Amendment Acts
1992), The National Plan of
Action for the Girl Child
(1991-2000), “National Policy
for the Empowerment of
Women” (2001) and National
Mission for Empowerment of
Women (2010) are the major
women friendly initiatives of
our central governments.
The Other Side. Since the
new amendment to the rape
law in 2013, the threat of false
rape cases on one pretext or
the other is increasing. This
fact is evident from the study
of court judgments of fast
track courts constituted
across the country and media
reports. The judiciary is well
aware of the possible misuse
of Section 498A (Women
cruelty).A conviction of a

of gang-rape of her ‘minor’

voking IPC Section 193 (pun-
ishment for false evidence)

across the country strength-
ens the argument for govern-
ment to bring about modifica-
tions in the law that are gen-
der-neutralandtightenshand-

WAY FORWARD
We as a society have failed to
give woman her just place in
our lives and men haven’t ac-
knowledged her strength, ca-
pabilities and ability to work
together. A caring attitude
towards a girl chid in a home
is still taken as a favour to her
whereas it’s seen as a right for
male child. This is where the
change has to begin. The next
stepisgendersensitizationby
parents and teachers regard-
ing the sensitivities and
boundaries of man - woman
relationships. In most educa-
tional institutions the lines of
associations are drawn on
gender basis, be it classes,
play grounds or extracurricu-
lar activities the gender dif-
ferentiation is clearly visible.
The root cause analysis of
the crime against women
needs to be done by the gov-
ernment crime prevention
units and well defined pro-
cesses have to be put in place.
There is need to improve the
investigative infrastructure
and strengthening the police
system where we can have a
security grid system covering
thepotentialriskareas(crime
againstwomen)andearmark-
ing social volunteers to pre-
vent and report the crime to
police ASAP. Active involve-
ment of Police with motto of
good policing and prevention
insteadof punishment.Areal
timecommunicationnetwork
with desirable mobility to po-
lice will make a remarkable
difference in reducing the
crime against women.
The legislation done for
enhanced punishment for
violence perpetrated against
women and at the same time
suitable modifications in the
law to make them gender-
neutral and save avoidable
harassment from either sex.
There is a need have aware-
ness programs such as road
shows, posters, street plays,
wall paintings with an aim to
reduce the cases of gender in-
equality
. Women will be cau-
tious towards their legal
rights through legal aware-
ness camps which will help in
eliminating violence against
women. At the same time we
need to groom moral and reli-
gious values in our children
and strengthen marriage sys-
tem. Efficient and accounta-
ble law enforcement machin-
ery at all levels (administra-
tion, government, police and
judiciary) and a fully aware
and gender equality apprecia-
tive society is a prerequisite
for a crime free society

Friday as their weekly

apparently without any

of Jama Block and Jar-

Fridays. Most of these
institutions sport name
boards suffixing “Urdu

names of the schools.
“We have written a let-
ter to the Block educa-
tion officers of the 33
schools advising them
to enquire into the mat-
ter. All the schools have
Urdu in their names,”
said Sanjay Kumar Das,
District Superinten-

Dumka on Thursday.
The official said that no
instruction to keep
schools closed on Fri-

the department.

Friday said that Jammu
and Kashmir’s Kisht-
war will become North
India’s major “power
hub” generating nearly
6,000 MW of power after
the completion of the
ongoing power projects.
Addressing a public
rally through virtual
mode from Jammu, as
he could not make it to
Kishtwar due to inclem-
ent weather, Dr Jiten-
dra Singh said, the sur-
plus power from Kisht-
war will not only be
utilised for other parts
of the UT, but will also
be sold to other States.
He lamented that the
rich natural resources
of Chenab were not ex-
ploited by the previous
governments which
ruled JK for 60-65
years. Pertinent to
mention that 1000 MW
Pakal Dul Project, 624

930 MW Kirthai Project
are all located in close
vicinity of each other,
along with 850 MW Ra-

been revived as a Joint

This, the Minster
said, makes Kishtwar

nounced 100 percent
reservation for locals in

projects and promised

been saved but we have
not been able to set in
Congress culture. Don’t
know what is the cul-
ture of Congress, but we
came in it according to
our will. Chief Minister
Ashok Gehlot knows
what men we are, the
rest of them, we know
nothing about,” Gudha
said while interacting
with the journalists af-
ter the public hearing at
the state Congress head-
quarters.
The Minister further
said, “We can’t under-
stand Congress’ culture.
We work hand in hand
with the people. Our
only thing is that when
we hold public hearings
every day, 1000 to 500
people come, this is a
routine work. I feel very
light in the state Con-
gress office. I alone do
publichearingsof about
thousand and five hun-
dred people in my area
and there are very few
people here. If people’s
problems are provided
solution in the Congress
office, then it will
strengthen the party
, its
result will be great.”
Gudha said that the
work raised by him and
his5otherpeersisbeing
done. “We are getting
stuck a bit due to wrong
alignment but we will
amicably sort it out.
There is no minister
whose alignment has
beenmessedup,”Gudha
said and added further,
“It is my suggestion that
if thereisagovernment,
then the officials should
be restrained. People
should work hand in
hand. Time boundation
should be on officers,
tighten them. Be it IAS
or IPS, they should work
immediately
. Request-
ing will not work.”
After Gudha’s state-
ments, political observ-
ers believe that he has
given a political signal
for the coming times by
giving a statement that
he is not set in the cul-
tureof Congress.Gudha
has given rise to politi-
cal discussions by ques-
tioning the style of func-
tioning of the govern-
ment and the party
.
Even during the pre-
vious Congress govern-
ment, six BSP MLAs in-
cluding Rajendra Gud-
ha had joined the Con-
gress. Later he lost on
Congress ticket and left
the party
. He contested
the last election with
BSP and after winning
merged with Congress.

party as per the political
need.

far. Apart from this, 1.25
lakh jobs have been giv-
en by the present gov-

Bikaner: Chief Minis-
ter Ashok Gehlot said
on Friday that the
drinking water prob-
lem of about 13 lakh
people of Bikaner city
and 32 surrounding vil-
lages would be perma-
nently resolved through
the Urban Restructured
Water Supply Scheme.
Gehlot addressed the
foundation stone laying
ceremony of water sup-
ply scheme at Ravindra
Rangmanch Auditori-
um in Bikaner. He said
that this scheme would
prove to be extremely
beneficial for Bikaner.
He directed to ensure
its timely implementa-
tion and regular moni-
toring of it.
The Chief Minister
said that the people of
Rajasthan understand
the value of water and
have been managing it
effectively. Describing
the Indira Gandhi Ca-
nal Project as the life-
line of western Ra-
jasthan, he said, “The
Central Government
should declare the East-
ern Canal Project as a
national project. This
will directly benefit 13
districts of the state.
Only 1 percent surface
water is available in Ra-
jasthan having 10 per-
cent land area in the
country. Therefore, its
effective management
is a big challenge. De-
spite this, effective
work is being done by
the state government in
the direction of reach-
ing door-to-door water
supply
.”
Meanwhile, Educa-
tion Minister Dr BD
Kalla, said, “According
to the master plan of
the scheme, works
worth Rs 614.9 crore
will be done in the first
phase and Rs 798 crore
in the second phase.
Work orders worth Rs
176 crore have been is-
sued for the first pack-
age of water supply
scheme. He urged the
CM for a permanent so-
lution to problem of
railway gates of Bikan-
er. PHED Minister Dr.
Mahesh Joshi said
“Providing drinking
water to every house-
hold is the top priority
of the government and
efforts are being made
to meet every demand
related to drinking wa-
ter in a time bound
manner. Notably, Chair-
man of Rajasthan Agro
Industry Development
Board, Rameshwar
Dudi said that under
CM’s leadership, State
Govt has tried to bring
revolution in every
field. MoS for Power,
BhanwarS Bhati said
that sanctioning water
supply scheme on basis
of plan for the coming
25 years reflects the far-
reaching thinking of
the government.

is invisible to the eye, which is
precisely what is the power of love.

POSTAL REG NO. JPC/004/2022-24
 You have laid the
foundation stone of
the water supply
scheme ERCP issue
is pending?
Look, I have said that
already
, the JJM scheme
which is a plan to reach
every household, is a
very ambitious project,
50% of it belongs to Raj
government, a project
of Rs 66,000 crore has
been completed, but the
time limit till 2024 by
Centre is less. Their
share is 50%, we have
demanded to increase
the scheme till 2026 be-
cause there are long dis-
tances between villages
in state. Not a single
scheme of Rajasthan
falls under national pro-
jects. So we have de-
manded that at least
ERCP should be de-
clared as such.
 It wasn’t included
in the meeting of the
North Zonal Council?
No. It is not their fault
because it is a matter of
MP Rajasthan and MP
didn’t come for the re-
gional council. So I
briefed Home Minister
separately about it.
 The Centre is talk-
ing about GST on
flour and pulses...
This scheme was intro-
duced by UPA govt with
a single tax, but
they made 4-5
slabs.The en-
tire scheme is
wrong. So it has
been changed. Already
inflation has increased,
if more GST is imposed,
then it will increase fur-
ther. So this is the poli-
cy of Modi ji because of
which the country is
suffering. They want
that the entire country
should be ruled by one
party and that is the
BJP the RSS, this is
their dangerous inten-
tion.The entire nation
is worried. People
aren’t speaking
out of fear of
ED, Income Tax
and CBI.
 Incidents disturb-
ing communal har-
mony happened in
Rajasthan. What do
you think will hap-
pen in next election?
Look, the way we have
tackled them, the ac-
cused were immediate-
ly caught, after that
NIA came into the pic-
ture we are cooperat-
ing with them. It was an
unfortunate incident, a
heinous crime, there is
no pardon for it. Govt
left no stone unturned
in doing what it could
after the incident oc-
curred.
 Kataria is saying
that the name you are
taking that BJP
members tried to save
these men, these alle-
gations are wrong
and baseless?
There are photographs
of BJP leaders and Ka-
taria ji along with the
main accused. There
was word that when
case was registered,
then BJP leaders called
up at the police station.
Thismeansthataccused
was in contact with
these men. The depth of
this connect should be
probed by NIA.
 Shekhawat is say-
ing that Gehlot govt
is stalling ERCP
that he will tell the
truth to people...
So, tell them the truth.
That is what we want.
Send us in writing, but
how can you say that
the project will be
shelved? Our water, our
catchment area, our
money, we are investing
all the money in
Navnera dam and this
time, I have kept more
than Rs 9,000 cr for fu-
ture projects related to
Bisalpur and Isarda. As
of now the Central gov-
ernment has nothing,
so why are they object-
ing? This is beyond our
comprehension. We
will welcome, if he
himself goes and de-
clares the ERCP as a
‘National Project.’ We
will welcome him the
same day
.
We are ready for ERCP, Union govt should make a move now: CM

of optimism in life. Here are some excerpts of that chit-chat

Describe yourself for us.
My name is Kashish
Ashwani and I am from
Bharatpur. I am pursuing
an undergraduate course at
Maharani College. My hob-
bies are sketching and
dancing because creativity
attracts me to the core.
What would you say are
some vital skills to make
it in the modelling world?
I believe that a certain
set of skills is necessary to
make it to the modelling
world. I think my biggest
strength is my positive at-
titude. I accept challenges
with optimism. I believe
that’s what makes me suc-
cessful in everything that I
do. I keep motivating my-
self to achieve more in life.
I am a disciplined person
who is flexible enough to
adapt to change. I am both
a good listener as well as a
quick learner.
If you could go in future
and tell yourself one
thing about your career
what would it be?
Yes, there is a dream that I
am working towards and I
shall remind myself of the
same in future. I wish to
represent Rajasthan on a
higher platform at the Miss
India beauty pageant.
What inspired you to
become a supermodel?
What challenges did you
face in this journey?
I am a self-made girl who
comes from a small place in
Rajasthan. Yogesh Sir and
Nimisha ma’am inspired
and supported me in my
journey. I faced multiple
challenges in my journey
and even my relatives made
fun of me. It demotivated

that I won’t be able to
make it to Miss Ra-
jasthan. However, it all
changed after I attended
the 7-day training ses-
sion which changed my
life.
What was the
biggest rookie
mistake you
made?
The biggest
rookie mis-
take I com-
mittedwas
that I
turned un-
derconfi-
dent and didn’t believe in
myself. It is very important
to have strong faith in your
abilities.
What has been the most
memorable moment in

TOP TWEETS INDIA’S GENDER GAP NARROWS BUT WOMEN STILL REMAIN UNEQUAL orld Economic Fo- rum’s annual Gender Gap Report ranks In- dia low at 135th place out of 146 countries reflecting the gender gap that ex- ists in the country . It has, how- ever, improved upon its 140th rank of last year. Afghanistan, where women have no freedom, Pakistan, Congo, Iran and Chad are placed below India. Much of the disparity in India exists due to patriarchy and discrimination againstgirls, despitetheprogress madeon“economicparticipation and opportunity”. The report said, “With a female population of approximately 662 million, In- dia’s level of attainment weighs heavily on regional rankings.” While women’s participation as legislators, senior officials and managers increased from 14.6 percent to 17.6 percent, their par- ticipation in the labour force fell. The health and survival sub- index is where India needs to work hard for improving its score. In this category India is among the five countries with gender gap larger than 5 percent and is ranked 146th , the lowest, along with Qatar, Pakistan, Azerbaijan and China. W he venerable Ti- betan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, reached Leh on Friday af- ter a stopover at Jammu. The visit comes a day before the scheduled meeting of com- manders of the Indian Army and the People’s Liberation Army on Sunday to resolve the dispute over the Line of Actual Control (LAC). By fa- cilitatingDalaiLama’svisitto Lehacoupleof daysbeforethe border talks, India has sent a strong message to China which raises objections every time the Government of India extendsthesmallestof courte- sies to the spiritual leader. LastweekwhenPrimeMin- ister Narendra Modi greeted the Dalai Lama on his 87th birthday prompted China to tell India not to interfere in its internal affairs using Tibet as an issue. When the Dalai Lama visited the Rashtrapati Bhawanonaninvitationfrom the then President Pranab Mukherjeein2016andhisvis- its to Arunachal Pradesh in 2009 and 2017 invited sharp reactions from Beijing. India has always brushed aside the Chinese objections as the Ti- betan monk is regarded as New Delhi’s honoured guest. Beijing considers the Dalai Lama as a separatist leader who wants to break China when all that the spiritual leader has been asking for is autonomy for Tibet under the Chinesestate.“Moreandmore Chinesepeoplerealizethatthe Dalai Lama is not seeking in- dependence but a meaningful autonomyandpreservationof Tibetan Buddhist culture withinChina,”thehighlyven- erated monk said at Jammu. By facilitating the Dalai Lama’s two-day visit to Ladakh India has only as- serted its position on the ter- ritory along LAC. CHINA’S PROTESTS ARE MEANINGLESS Beijing considers the Dalai Lama as a separatist leader who wants to break China when all that the spiritual leader has been asking for is autonomy for Tibet under the Chinese state. More and more Chinese people realize that the Dalai Lama is not seeking independence but a meaningful autonomy T irbhaya, Unnao, Hathras, and Unnao again - these have be- come shorthand references to crimes of rape and murder committed against girls and women in India. Cases of vio- lence against women are steadily increasing in the country .ThedatafromtheNa- tional Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) reveals that a total of 4, 05,861 cases of crimes against women were regis- tered during 2019 of which most cases under crime against women were regis- tered under ‘Cruelty by Hus- band or His Relatives’, fol- lowed by ‘ Assault on Women with Intent to Outrage her Modesty’, ‘Kidnapping Ab- ductionof Women’and‘Rape’. But these data may not really representtheactualpictureas so many crimes against wom- en go unreported. The local news pages of newspapers and the social media have a different story to reveal as they are flooded with real pic- ture of crime against women prevailinginoursocietytoday . InHinduism,manandwom- an represent the two halves of the divine body . Yet the cus- toms and values are favouring men and women eternally suf- fer this discrimination in si- lence. The Risk factors attrib- utingtoviolenceagainstWom- en are: Psychiatric Morbidity , High consumption of alcohol by the men, Socio-demograph- icfactorslikePatriarchy ,Fam- ily environment with cruelty on women, Married women with Triple Tragedy of the fe- malestatus, fearpsychosisand separated / divorced status, Socio- cultural factors like ste- reotyped gender roles and dowry over the ages, Modern life style of living, rapid tech- nological advances and avail- ability of pornographic mate- rial, Elements of insensitivity , inefficiency , corruption and heavily worked and under staffedjudicialsystemandlaw enforcement machinery and Weaker, decayed social fabric with diminishing respect for women. National Initiatives to Curb the Gender Violence. Setting up National Commis- sion for Women (1992), Reser- vation to women in local self government (73rd Constitu- tional Amendment Acts 1992), The National Plan of Action for the Girl Child (1991-2000), “National Policy for the Empowerment of Women” (2001) and National Mission for Empowerment of Women (2010) are the major women friendly initiatives of our central governments. The Other Side. Since the new amendment to the rape law in 2013, the threat of false rape cases on one pretext or the other is increasing. This fact is evident from the study of court judgments of fast track courts constituted across the country and media reports. The judiciary is well aware of the possible misuse of Section 498A (Women cruelty).A conviction of a 45-year-oldwomanforturning hostile after filing a false case of gang-rape of her ‘minor’ daughter by three people in- voking IPC Section 193 (pun- ishment for false evidence) and rise in such cases seen across the country strength- ens the argument for govern- ment to bring about modifica- tions in the law that are gen- der-neutralandtightenshand- cuffs against harassment. WAY FORWARD We as a society have failed to give woman her just place in our lives and men haven’t ac- knowledged her strength, ca- pabilities and ability to work together. A caring attitude towards a girl chid in a home is still taken as a favour to her whereas it’s seen as a right for male child. This is where the change has to begin. The next stepisgendersensitizationby parents and teachers regard- ing the sensitivities and boundaries of man - woman relationships. In most educa- tional institutions the lines of associations are drawn on gender basis, be it classes, play grounds or extracurricu- lar activities the gender dif- ferentiation is clearly visible. The root cause analysis of the crime against women needs to be done by the gov- ernment crime prevention units and well defined pro- cesses have to be put in place. There is need to improve the investigative infrastructure and strengthening the police system where we can have a security grid system covering thepotentialriskareas(crime againstwomen)andearmark- ing social volunteers to pre- vent and report the crime to police ASAP. Active involve- ment of Police with motto of good policing and prevention insteadof punishment.Areal timecommunicationnetwork with desirable mobility to po- lice will make a remarkable difference in reducing the crime against women. The legislation done for enhanced punishment for violence perpetrated against women and at the same time suitable modifications in the law to make them gender- neutral and save avoidable harassment from either sex. There is a need have aware- ness programs such as road shows, posters, street plays, wall paintings with an aim to reduce the cases of gender in- equality . Women will be cau- tious towards their legal rights through legal aware- ness camps which will help in eliminating violence against women. At the same time we need to groom moral and reli- gious values in our children and strengthen marriage sys- tem. Efficient and accounta- ble law enforcement machin- ery at all levels (administra- tion, government, police and judiciary) and a fully aware and gender equality apprecia- tive society is a prerequisite for a crime free society . THE VIEWS EXPRESSED BY THE AUTHOR ARE PERSONAL Crime Against Women in India: A Realistic and Rational Approach N There is a need have awareness programs such as road shows, posters, street plays, wall paintings with an aim to reduce the cases of gender inequality. Request- ing will not work.” After Gudha’s state- ments, political observ- ers believe that he has given a political signal for the coming times by giving a statement that he is not set in the cul- tureof Congress.Gudha has given rise to politi- cal discussions by ques- tioning the style of func- tioning of the govern- ment and the party . Even during the pre- vious Congress govern- ment, six BSP MLAs in- cluding Rajendra Gud- ha had joined the Con- gress. Later he lost on Congress ticket and left the party . He contested the last election with BSP and after winning merged with Congress. Gudhahasgivenclear indications that he may go ahead with the old party as per the political need. Laxman Raghav Bikaner: Chief Minis- ter Ashok Gehlot said on Friday that the drinking water prob- lem of about 13 lakh people of Bikaner city and 32 surrounding vil- lages would be perma- nently resolved through the Urban Restructured Water Supply Scheme. Gehlot addressed the foundation stone laying ceremony of water sup- ply scheme at Ravindra Rangmanch Auditori- um in Bikaner. He said that this scheme would prove to be extremely beneficial for Bikaner. He directed to ensure its timely implementa- tion and regular moni- toring of it. The Chief Minister said that the people of Rajasthan understand the value of water and have been managing it effectively. Describing the Indira Gandhi Ca- nal Project as the life- line of western Ra- jasthan, he said, “The Central Government should declare the East- ern Canal Project as a national project. This will directly benefit 13 districts of the state. Only 1 percent surface water is available in Ra- jasthan having 10 per- cent land area in the country. Therefore, its effective management is a big challenge. De- spite this, effective work is being done by the state government in the direction of reach- ing door-to-door water supply .” Meanwhile, Educa- tion Minister Dr BD Kalla, said, “According to the master plan of the scheme, works worth Rs 614.9 crore will be done in the first phase and Rs 798 crore in the second phase. Notably, Chair- man of Rajasthan Agro Industry Development Board, Rameshwar Dudi said that under CM’s leadership, State Govt has tried to bring revolution in every field. MoS for Power, BhanwarS Bhati said that sanctioning water supply scheme on basis of plan for the coming 25 years reflects the far- reaching thinking of the government. A loving heart sees so much of what is invisible to the eye, which is precisely what is the power of love. —Dr Jagdeesh Chandra, CEO Editor-in-Chief, First India JAIPUR | SATURDAY, JULY 16, 2022 www.firstindia.co.in I https://firstindia.co.in/epapers/jaipur I twitter.com/thefirstindia I facebook.com/thefirstindia I instagram.com/thefirstindia 08 2NDFRONT POSTAL REG NO. JPC/004/2022-24  You have laid the foundation stone of the water supply scheme ERCP issue is pending? Look, I have said that already , the JJM scheme which is a plan to reach every household, is a very ambitious project, 50% of it belongs to Raj government, a project of Rs 66,000 crore has been completed, but the time limit till 2024 by Centre is less. Their share is 50%, we have demanded to increase the scheme till 2026 be- cause there are long dis- tances between villages in state. Not a single scheme of Rajasthan falls under national pro- jects. So we have de- manded that at least ERCP should be de- clared as such.  It wasn’t included in the meeting of the North Zonal Council? No. It is not their fault because it is a matter of MP Rajasthan and MP didn’t come for the re- gional council. So I briefed Home Minister separately about it.  The Centre is talk- ing about GST on flour and pulses... This scheme was intro- duced by UPA govt with a single tax, but they made 4-5 slabs. The en- tire scheme is wrong. So it has been changed. Already inflation has increased, if more GST is imposed, then it will increase fur- ther. So this is the poli- cy of Modi ji because of which the country is suffering. They want that the entire country should be ruled by one party and that is the BJP the RSS, this is their dangerous inten- tion. The entire nation is worried. People aren’t speaking out of fear of ED, Income Tax and CBI.  Incidents disturb- ing communal har- mony happened in Rajasthan. What do you think will hap- pen in next election? Look, the way we have tackled them, the ac- cused were immediate- ly caught, after that NIA came into the pic- ture we are cooperat- ing with them. It was an unfortunate incident, a heinous crime, there is no pardon for it. Govt left no stone unturned in doing what it could after the incident oc- curred.  Kataria is saying that the name you are taking that BJP members tried to save these men, these alle- gations are wrong and baseless? There are photographs of BJP leaders and Ka- taria ji along with the main accused. There was word that when case was registered, then BJP leaders called up at the police station. Thismeansthataccused was in contact with these men. The depth of this connect should be probed by NIA.  Shekhawat is say- ing that Gehlot govt is stalling ERCP that he will tell the truth to people... So, tell them the truth. That is what we want. Send us in writing, but how can you say that the project will be shelved? Our water, our catchment area, our money, we are investing all the money in Navnera dam and this time, I have kept more than Rs 9,000 cr for fu- ture projects related to Bisalpur and Isarda. As of now the Central gov- ernment has nothing, so why are they object- ing? This is beyond our comprehension. We will welcome, if he himself goes and de- clares the ERCP as a ‘National Project.’ We will welcome him the same day . We are ready for ERCP, Union govt should make a move now: CM CM Ashok Gehlot lays the foundation stone of the Urban Restructured Water Supply Scheme during a programme at Ravindra Rangmanch in Bikaner on Friday. Also seen here are Dr Mahesh Joshi, Bhanwar S Bhati, Dr BD Kalla, Rameshwar Dudi, Subodh Agarwal and others.
