PM MODI’S SPEECH FROM PARL
 President Droupadi
Murmu guided the people
of the country in her vision-

 Some leaders displayed
hatred against the Sched-
uled Tribes. The Opposi-
tion had alleged that the
President read a speech
prepared by the Centre.
 Some can’t accept India’s
achievements. In the last
9 years, India has become
home to 90,000 start-ups.
It’s the third biggest in terms
of start-ups. World sees
prosperity in India’s growth.
 Several countries are
suffering from instabil-
ity due to war, others are
facing inflation, unem-
ployment; amid difficult
times, India became the
fifth-largest economy
 Some people have a
craze of Harvard studies. In
the past, an important study
was undertaken at Harvard,
titled the rise and decline of
India’s Congress party.
 Congress’s rule was a
decade of corruption and ter-
ror, while the world was busy
enhancing its technology, the
UPA-II government was busy
with scams like 2G.

THE MNREGA
BUDGETARY CUT
FLUMMOXES
ANALYSTS
he slashing of Ma-
hatma Gandhi Na-
tional Rural Employ-
ment Guarantee
Scheme (MNREGA),
NREGA in short, to Rs 60,000
crore in 2023-24 has taken some
analysts by surprise. There is a
reason why they are trying to
figure out this deep cut - the al-
location in this budget is the
lowest-ever since 2006 and comes
after a record outlay of over Rs
389.09 crore. In 2021-22 also the
allocation was around Rs 300
crore. One obvious reason is that
the worst is behind us. The re-
cord allocations were meant to
help the rural poor during the
pandemicwhenjobswerescarce.
The government also made im-
pressive provision for food sub-
sidy to help the poor during the
Covid period. Incidentally, the
outlay for food subsidy has also
been cut in this year’s budget.
Two other minor aspects of
NREGA also need mention. The
employment scheme was gross-
ly misused for pilfering the ex-
chequer’s funds. The other rea-
son could have been to check
diversion of labour from farm
activity

the politically sen-
sitive issue of

(varna) system Bhagwat said
that everyone was equal be-
fore God. After the statement
raked up a debate, Sangh’s
publicity in-charge issued a
clarification explaining the
term used by the Sarsangh-
chalak meant intellectuals
and not Brahmins.
His remarks, though wel-
come, are not in sync with
the country’s politics which
thrives mainly on caste and
religion. The influence which
upper castes wield is weight-
ier than Bhagwat’s opinion
which explains the contin-
ued bias against Dalits and
backward classes, especially
in rural areas where a Dalit
bridegroom still needs police
protection to ride a horse and
pass through the locality of
superior castes. This hap-
pens despite necessary legis-
lation being in place to pre-
vent such occurrences. With
politics in country aligned to
the caste system it is difficult
to expect a social change de-
spite Bhagwat’s attempts.
The Scheduled Castes and
Backwards got some justice
after Mandal Commission

parties began experimenting

touchability and inequality
do not exist in scriptures. Yet
some chaupais in epic Ram-

M
IS YOUNG INDIA
JOB READY?
he real purpose of education
is to make youth socially re-
sponsible, economically via-
ble and emotionally bal-
anced. But the truth be told
that industry perceives that
65 to 70 per cent degree hold-
ers do not possess employa-
bility conditions. However,
neither the industry has
clearly specified the factors
that decide these numbers
nor has mentioned the crite-
ria or the required skills in
an un ambiguous manner.
Having been on the re-
cruiting panel of defence ser-
vices in my military career
and now for over a decade
involved with hiring in cor-
porate world, I hold a firm
conviction that much is de-
sired to prepare our youth for
skills that Gandhi termed as
education for life along with
education for living.
The current economic cri-
sis has further augmented
the problem of employment
in India. Our country which
was already facing an ‘unem-
ployed growth’ has suddenly
been pushed into a job reces-
sion scenario in recent years.
According to the latest data,
India’s jobless rate rested at
8.63% per cent in December
2022 which is a thing of grave
concern in a country that
boasts of 65 % youth popula-
tion below 35 years of age.
In my opinion, not only
have job opportunities less-
ened courtesy AI, but the na-
ture of jobs has also under-
gone a dramatic change in
last decade or so in the world.
Greater digital representa-
tion of work, paramount
shift in buying behaviours
and the volatile markets have
given rise to the need for mul-
tiple skill sets among the
younger generation looking
for job opportunities. There-
fore, with the changing land-
scape of recruitment, influ-
ence of technology and a
very dynamic and fast chang-
ing market, job readiness is
something that can be the
differentiator between job
search and job seeking.
Though, the job readiness
covers a plethora of factors,
the important ones that can
be summarised are just three.
Number one, understanding
your job. It really should be
an obvious thing but it is
alarming that many aspir-
ants do not have an iota of
understanding of the role
they are to perform within
organisations. This means
that they also are not aware
of what skills are needed to
be acquired for the job today
or, in the future to be able to
continue to effectively per-
form their role.
Number two is develop-
ment of the skill sets to suit
the job profile. That is, iden-
tifying the gaps and areas of
development and articulat-
ing it with appropriate skill
sets to bridge the existing
gaps. One glaring thing that
is irksome is that job hunters
are not able to demonstrate
during an interview that
they have the skills required
to immediately transition in
to a role they are being inter-
viewed for.
And lastly
, the most impor-
tant one is the expertise of
presentation and communi-
cation which holds key to
your success at the interview.
If one can reflect understand-
ing of the role and the level of
professionalism coupled with
personal etiquettes and com-
municational proficiency,
well, the job is within reach.
To be honest, I would say
that in present day, job readi-
ness is more important than
ever before in the corporate
world. Competition is fierce
and employers have become
less willing to invest in learn-
ing and development of their
employees as it is not cost-
effective and employee turno-
ver reduces return on invest-
ment. In such a scheme, the
students should realise that
there is little correlation be-
tween having a degree and
being qualified for a job.
My advice to all would be
to evolve and flourish with
the cutting edge of competi-
tive job skills to promote
professional career. Even if
a candidate is not sure about
the choice of career, pursu-
ing a few qualities that are
universally desired by em-
ployers and which are
termed as transferable skills
may allow for exploration of
job options in times to come.
Every job needs different ex-
pertise, yet, the employers
seek out candidates with
transferable skills like team
work strategic thinking
because they showcase ap-
plicant’s range of flexibility
and adaptability.
Indeed, there is a great
deal more to job readiness
for YOUNG INDIA than what
is so far discussed. For all
individuals, who are em-
ployed, they need to remain
employable by learning the
transferable skills. Whilst
those jobless need to demon-
strate employability by up-
skilling and upscaling skills
that make them desirable.
Indeed, planning for future
employment also needs de-
veloping new levels of oper-
ability as learning remains a
lifelong imperative for ca-
reer development. Therefore,
accepting ownership of your
own career is the only key to
achieving job worthiness for
sustainable growth.

Infrastructure holds the
key to any nation’s pre-
paredness, External Af-
fairs Minister S Jais-
hankar once again un-
derscored how security
at the borders including
at the India-China bor-
der is closely linked
with the infrastructure
developed in the area.
“We have focused on
the rapid development
of infrastructure along
Northern Borders with
China for obvious stra-
tegic reasons. We have
focused on rapidly de-
veloping border con-
nectivity with our
friendly neighbours to
enhance trade, energy
and other people-to-
people exchanges.”
Jaishankar says
The key focus of the
Modi government since
coming to power in
2014 has been to ensure
development-linked co-
operation. “The facts
are there for all to see.
During the period 2008-
14 the budget allocated
for the China border
projects stood at a mere
Rs 3000-4000 cr which
has taken a multi-fold
jump to Rs14000 at pre-
sent,” Jaishankar told
ANI during an interac-
tion with reporters
during the ongoing ses-
sion of Parliament.
Further elaborating
on the road and bridge
building focus, EAM
Jaishankar says, “be-
tween 2008-14 roads built
stood at 3610 km which
has between 2014-22 at
6806 kms. Bridges built
in the period before 2014
was7.3kmwhichduring
the Modi govt regime
stands at 23.5 km.”
One cannot do a thing
without investing in in-
frastructure to ensure
our forces are prepared
better, says Jaishankar.
“Behind the debate that
we often witness on In-
dia China border in-
cluding that of ques-
tions asked by opposi-
tion, one needs to look
at what goes into our
border preparedness.
It’s the quality of our
structures, the technol-
ogy involved its main-
tenance,” the EAM said.
While China has
transgressedatmultiple
locations and the stand-
off continues, infra-
structure is being devel-
oped across both sides.

Valentine’s Day, which

. But social

believe that this is not a
coincidence.
For several years

Rajendra Chhabra
Jaipur: A statement of
Rajasthan Congress in-
charge Sukhjinder Sin-
gh Randhawa has
shocked the state bu-
reaucracy and officials
are surprised as to why
is Randhawa ‘hard’ on
the state bureaucracy?
On Tuesday, Randha-
wa said in Kota, “Offi-
cials should fear the
government. It is wrong
to sit on the same sofa
as minister in the cham-
bers. Be it any officer,
they should sweat be-
fore entering CM or
ministers’ chambers. If
there will be fear in of-
ficials, only then will
they better administer.
Officials dont give
weightage to workers,
which is not right.”
Now, knowledgeable
sources claim that in
comparison to other
states, Chief Minister
Ashok Gehlot’s relation
with state bureaucracy
is strong and good. The
officials do not work un-
der fear, but with ut-
most will to do better
and stay committed to
work. Whereas the
truth is that the Chief
Minister does not shy
away from patting the
backs of bureaucrats.
In such a good situa-
tion, Randhawa’s

YARDS
GRACE
OF
o matter how
much you
love your
breezy dress-
es and airy
skirts, noth-
ing combines
elegance and ease,
quite like sarees. A
true classic, an Indian
wardrobe is incom-
plete without it.
Though mostly
thought of as an occa-
sion wear piece, or as
a wedding outfit– by
choosing the right fab-
ric and colour, you can
find a saree for just
about any occasion.
From opting for
breathable cot-
tons that score
high on comfort,
that can be
worn to a casu-
al lunch, to
light-as-air
chiffons and
beautiful or-
ganzas that
drape like a
dream, that
are perfect for
evening affairs – this
piece of fabric is as
versatile as it gets.
If you are looking to
revisit the timeless
drape with a fresh
twist on Valentine's
Day, pair your saree
with a contemporary
blouse, think off-
shoulder silhouettes
or modern necklines
or even a silk shirt.
Ahuja's Fashion pho-
tography is about who
you want tobe, not
who you
are.
City
F i r s t
brings to you
an exclusive
collection by De-
vesh Ahuja, director
Ahuja’s Productions,
as they prove that six
yards of grace should
not just be reserved
for the wedding sea-
son. Choose an off-
shoulder or sleeveless
blouse to add length to
your body if you are
petite. Go for a (Ba-
nasri) silk saree with
long sleeves if your
body is hourglass or
pear-shaped as it will
accentuateyourwaist-
line and give you
curves. A straight-cut
saree will help bal-
ance out a
curvier body
shape. For
the perfect blend of
style and elegance,
choose plain sarees or
a bordered saree with
a designer blouse rath-
er than heav-
ily embellished sarees.
Your saree is how you
make an entrance,
how you express your
style and an extension
of yourself.

YOUR LOVE
YOUR LOVE
YOUR LOVE
WITH
WITH
he activities leading up to Val-
entine's Day, which is ob-
served on February 14, in-
clude the celebration of Choc-
olate Day on February 9. Most
of us would like to celebrate
Chocolate Day every day
. Eve-
ryone has a sweet tooth for chocolate,
and it also aids in the formation of
memories. Therefore, don't let Choco-
late Day pass you by and spend it with
someone precious in your life. This
person might be one of your friends,
family, your spouse, your girlfriend, or
anybody else you care about.
Everyone wishes to make this kind,
of chocolatey gesture so that it makes
your better half grin broadly and gor-
geously. Almost everyone like choco-
late, so give your loved ones some unu-
sual chocolate presents to make
them more special. To find
some suggestions for amaz-
ing Chocolate Day pre-
sents, scroll down.
CHOCOLICIOUS
BOUQUET:
One of the artistic
presents that will
win over your
partner's heart is
a beautiful Chocolate
Bouquet. Give your
loved ones a unique
chocolate bouquet. It
is the perfect method to
make today special and un-
forgettable. Beautiful chocolate
bouquets are offered solely from the
hands of creative flower producers
online. Depending on the kind of
chocolate bouquet you choose, it
may also be tailored to your prefer-
ences. This chocolate-theme pre-
sent is a way to show your loved
ones how much you appreciate
them. When you are not present,
surprise your spouse with a box of
chocolates; when they call, you can
almost hear the excitement in their
voice.
EMBELLISHED CHOCO
MASON JAR:
It is among the original methods to
honour Chocolate Day
. It is a result
of the artistic portrayal associated
with it. These jars are filled with
texts that convey your emotions.
Mason jars are readily found on-
line. Get the mason jar and some of
your loved ones' favourite choco-
late. The creative part now is to list
all the reasons in as many brief
notes as you can why you adore your
lover. Fill the Mason jar with the choc-
olates after attaching those tiny mes-
sages. Make your own decorations for
it using hearts, glitter, and ribbons.
Giving this to your loved ones will
amaze them and make them smile.
PREPARE YOUR
OWN CHOCOLATE:
Better than any chocolate you can buy
at the store is a chocolate treat created
with love. While some of your work
may be required, you can be confident
that it won't be in vain. Your lover may
sense your love through the effort you
have made, even when it doesn't take
up much of your time. Make sure your
spouse enjoys chocolate before you
start making it for them. Don't pre-
sume since doing so might sour the
day's festivities. This time, give choc-
olate-making a try for your loved ones.
One of the thoughtful acts that might
surprise and delight your loved ones
is this one.
PERSONALIZED BOX
OF CHOCOLATES:
Add a special touch of memories to
your chocolates to make the occasion
more touching. You may order a cus-
tomised chocolate box with a photo of
yourself. You may have the box print-
ed with the name and image of your
loved ones. It is offered in enticing
tastes that can make the circumstanc-
es spectacular. Make a special
remark for your loved one and
choose any unforgettable
photos of them.
Print the im-
age and the
message
on the
chocolate-filled box. This present
cheers people up and serves as a re-
minder of your love and concern for
your family
.
CHOCOLATE EXPLOSION
BOX WITH A GIFT:
Explosion boxes are one of the great-
est options if you're seeking some-
thing special to surprise your loved
ones. The opening of this box reveals
many layers of scrumptious choco-
lates. By including a picture of your
loved ones, you may further customise
these boxes. Give this to the people
you love most in the world. Choose a
heart-shaped box, then write your tiny
love notes on the cards. Make an ex-
ploding box using the favourite choco-
lates of all your special recipients.
With this present, you may increase
their love for you and make them feel
on top of the world.

There is a reason why they are trying to figure out this deep cut - the al- location in this budget is the lowest-ever since 2006 and comes after a record outlay of over Rs 389.09 crore. In 2021-22 also the allocation was around Rs 300 crore. One obvious reason is that the worst is behind us. The re- cord allocations were meant to help the rural poor during the pandemicwhenjobswerescarce. The government also made im- pressive provision for food sub- sidy to help the poor during the Covid period. Incidentally, the outlay for food subsidy has also been cut in this year’s budget. Two other minor aspects of NREGA also need mention. The employment scheme was gross- ly misused for pilfering the ex- chequer’s funds. The other rea- son could have been to check diversion of labour from farm activity . TOP TWEETS T ohan Bhagwat, the RSS chief, has once again raised the politically sen- sitive issue of castes.Bhagwatblamed“pun- dits” for the creation of castes and sects. Attacking the caste (varna) system Bhagwat said that everyone was equal be- fore God. After the statement raked up a debate, Sangh’s publicity in-charge issued a clarification explaining the term used by the Sarsangh- chalak meant intellectuals and not Brahmins. His remarks, though wel- come, are not in sync with the country’s politics which thrives mainly on caste and religion. The influence which upper castes wield is weight- ier than Bhagwat’s opinion which explains the contin- ued bias against Dalits and backward classes, especially in rural areas where a Dalit bridegroom still needs police protection to ride a horse and pass through the locality of superior castes. This hap- pens despite necessary legis- lation being in place to pre- vent such occurrences. With politics in country aligned to the caste system it is difficult to expect a social change de- spite Bhagwat’s attempts. The Scheduled Castes and Backwards got some justice after Mandal Commission report was made public and parties began experimenting with social engineering and political empowerment. In 2022, Samvada, an RSS website, quoted Bhagwat as saying that problems like un- touchability and inequality do not exist in scriptures. Yet some chaupais in epic Ram- charitmanas by Tulsidas continue to stir up emotions for its reference to shudras and women. Drastic change in mindsets is needed for so- ciety’s transformation. FOR A SOCIETY WITHOUT CASTES Mohan Bhagwat, the RSS chief, has once again raised the politically sensitive issue of castes. Bhagwat blamed “pundits” for the creation of castes and sects. Attacking the caste (varna) system Bhagwat said that everyone was equal before God M IS YOUNG INDIA JOB READY? he real purpose of education is to make youth socially re- sponsible, economically via- ble and emotionally bal- anced. But the truth be told that industry perceives that 65 to 70 per cent degree hold- ers do not possess employa- bility conditions. However, neither the industry has clearly specified the factors that decide these numbers nor has mentioned the crite- ria or the required skills in an un ambiguous manner. Having been on the re- cruiting panel of defence ser- vices in my military career and now for over a decade involved with hiring in cor- porate world, I hold a firm conviction that much is de- sired to prepare our youth for skills that Gandhi termed as education for life along with education for living. The current economic cri- sis has further augmented the problem of employment in India. Our country which was already facing an ‘unem- ployed growth’ has suddenly been pushed into a job reces- sion scenario in recent years. According to the latest data, India’s jobless rate rested at 8.63% per cent in December 2022 which is a thing of grave concern in a country that boasts of 65 % youth popula- tion below 35 years of age. In my opinion, not only have job opportunities less- ened courtesy AI, but the na- ture of jobs has also under- gone a dramatic change in last decade or so in the world. Greater digital representa- tion of work, paramount shift in buying behaviours and the volatile markets have given rise to the need for mul- tiple skill sets among the younger generation looking for job opportunities. There- fore, with the changing land- scape of recruitment, influ- ence of technology and a very dynamic and fast chang- ing market, job readiness is something that can be the differentiator between job search and job seeking. Though, the job readiness covers a plethora of factors, the important ones that can be summarised are just three. Number one, understanding your job. It really should be an obvious thing but it is alarming that many aspir- ants do not have an iota of understanding of the role they are to perform within organisations. This means that they also are not aware of what skills are needed to be acquired for the job today or, in the future to be able to continue to effectively per- form their role. Number two is develop- ment of the skill sets to suit the job profile. That is, iden- tifying the gaps and areas of development and articulat- ing it with appropriate skill sets to bridge the existing gaps. One glaring thing that is irksome is that job hunters are not able to demonstrate during an interview that they have the skills required to immediately transition in to a role they are being inter- viewed for. And lastly , the most impor- tant one is the expertise of presentation and communi- cation which holds key to your success at the interview. If one can reflect understand- ing of the role and the level of professionalism coupled with personal etiquettes and com- municational proficiency, well, the job is within reach. To be honest, I would say that in present day, job readi- ness is more important than ever before in the corporate world. Competition is fierce and employers have become less willing to invest in learn- ing and development of their employees as it is not cost- effective and employee turno- ver reduces return on invest- ment. In such a scheme, the students should realise that there is little correlation be- tween having a degree and being qualified for a job. My advice to all would be to evolve and flourish with the cutting edge of competi- tive job skills to promote professional career. Even if a candidate is not sure about the choice of career, pursu- ing a few qualities that are universally desired by em- ployers and which are termed as transferable skills may allow for exploration of job options in times to come. Every job needs different ex- pertise, yet, the employers seek out candidates with transferable skills like team work strategic thinking because they showcase ap- plicant’s range of flexibility and adaptability. Indeed, there is a great deal more to job readiness for YOUNG INDIA than what is so far discussed. For all individuals, who are em- ployed, they need to remain employable by learning the transferable skills. Whilst those jobless need to demon- strate employability by up- skilling and upscaling skills that make them desirable. Indeed, planning for future employment also needs de- veloping new levels of oper- ability as learning remains a lifelong imperative for ca- reer development. Therefore, accepting ownership of your own career is the only key to achieving job worthiness for sustainable growth. Therefore, don't let Choco- late Day pass you by and spend it with someone precious in your life. This person might be one of your friends, family, your spouse, your girlfriend, or anybody else you care about. Everyone wishes to make this kind, of chocolatey gesture so that it makes your better half grin broadly and gor- geously. Almost everyone like choco- late, so give your loved ones some unu- sual chocolate presents to make them more special. To find some suggestions for amaz- ing Chocolate Day pre- sents, scroll down. CHOCOLICIOUS BOUQUET: One of the artistic presents that will win over your partner's heart is a beautiful Chocolate Bouquet. Give your loved ones a unique chocolate bouquet. It is the perfect method to make today special and un- forgettable. Beautiful chocolate bouquets are offered solely from the hands of creative flower producers online. Depending on the kind of chocolate bouquet you choose, it may also be tailored to your prefer- ences. This chocolate-theme pre- sent is a way to show your loved ones how much you appreciate them. When you are not present, surprise your spouse with a box of chocolates; when they call, you can almost hear the excitement in their voice. EMBELLISHED CHOCO MASON JAR: It is among the original methods to honour Chocolate Day . It is a result of the artistic portrayal associated with it. These jars are filled with texts that convey your emotions. Mason jars are readily found on- line. Get the mason jar and some of your loved ones' favourite choco- late. The creative part now is to list all the reasons in as many brief notes as you can why you adore your lover. Fill the Mason jar with the choc- olates after attaching those tiny mes- sages. Make your own decorations for it using hearts, glitter, and ribbons. Giving this to your loved ones will amaze them and make them smile. PREPARE YOUR OWN CHOCOLATE: Better than any chocolate you can buy at the store is a chocolate treat created with love. While some of your work may be required, you can be confident that it won't be in vain. Your lover may sense your love through the effort you have made, even when it doesn't take up much of your time. Make sure your spouse enjoys chocolate before you start making it for them. Don't pre- sume since doing so might sour the day's festivities. This time, give choc- olate-making a try for your loved ones. One of the thoughtful acts that might surprise and delight your loved ones is this one. PERSONALIZED BOX OF CHOCOLATES: Add a special touch of memories to your chocolates to make the occasion more touching. You may order a cus- tomised chocolate box with a photo of yourself. You may have the box print- ed with the name and image of your loved ones. It is offered in enticing tastes that can make the circumstanc- es spectacular. Make a special remark for your loved one and choose any unforgettable photos of them. Print the im- age and the message on the chocolate-filled box. This present cheers people up and serves as a re- minder of your love and concern for your family . CHOCOLATE EXPLOSION BOX WITH A GIFT: Explosion boxes are one of the great- est options if you're seeking some- thing special to surprise your loved ones. The opening of this box reveals many layers of scrumptious choco- lates. By including a picture of your loved ones, you may further customise these boxes. Give this to the people you love most in the world. Choose a heart-shaped box, then write your tiny love notes on the cards.
