How do you

What this country built in
70 years was destroyed
in 8 years. There is no
democracy in India today!
There is a dictatorship

want to raise the issue of

the society being divided.
We (Opposition) are not

We are arrested on the

Jaipur: The aviation
sector was hit by the
Covid pandamic for the
last two years. Now that
thesituationhasbecome
normal across the coun-

, the number of air
travellersremainslowat
the Jaipur airport. The
numbers are running
low due to increased air-
fares and inflation.
The situation is wor-
rying because in the
last 3 months every
time there is a fall in the
passenger load.
These days, on an av-
erage only 10,000 pas-
sengers are traveling
from Jaipur airport
every day. Whereas in
winter, this figure was
more than 15,000. In
view of the reduction in
passenger load, airlines
like SpiceJet and Air
Asia as well as IndiGo
are now canceling
flights from Jaipur air-
port. On an average 4 to
5 flights are getting
canceled daily
.
Due to lack of passen-

Jaipur airport has also
been stopped. In winter,
flights were available
from Jaipur airport to
26 cities of the country,
whereas now this figure
has been reduced to 20.

he Congress is
at the forefront
of protests
against the gov-
ernment. Even
on Friday its leaders and
workers donned black
cloth and raised slogans
against inflation and GST
which is hurting the poor.
As the Congress intensi-
fied its protests, dramatic
scenes were witnessed in
the national capital. Rahul
Gandhi was detained by
the police and his sister
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra,
who resisted her deten-
tion, was dragged and put
into a police vehicle for
breaking a barricade. Sev-
eral other party workers
were also detained. The
noticeable part was that
despite being in a weak
state, the party was able to
put up a massive show.
Regional outfits in Uttar
Pradesh like the Samajwa-
di Party and the Bahujan
Samaj Party
, which should
havealsotakentothestreet
on inflation and GST, have
stayed put inside their cosy
rooms. The reason could
have been either the fear of
the Enforcement Directo-
rate or they simply avoided
being seen as supporting
the Congress even if it was
for a genuine cause.
The Congress has re-
cently been protesting
against ED’s notices to its
president Sonia Gandhi
and Rahul Gandhi in the
National Herald case. Pro-
tests then followed each
time the two leaders were
summoned for question-
ing. On Thursday the ED
mandated Mallikarjun
Kharge, Leader of Opposi-
tion in the Rajya Sabha, to
be present in the Young In-
dianoffice,whentheHouse
was in session. As Friday’s
protests were staged al-
most in continuation of the
previous ones it appears
that the party is fearing the
worst in the National Her-
ald case and wants to keep
up the pressure.

A previous study reported
that a single shot of the
Jynneos vaccine protected
monkeys infected with
monkeypox and that this
protection lasted for at least
two years. If this holds up in
the real world, it would
support withholding second
doses in favor of immunizing
more Americans. This would
be key as many health
experts expect the virus to
continue spreading,
furthering increasing
demand of the vaccine
onkeypox isn’t going to be
the next Covid-19. But
with the outbreak having
bloomed to thousands of
infections, with cases in
nearly every state, on Au-
gust 4, 2022, the US de-
clared monkeypox a na-
tional public health emer-
gency. One reason health
experts did not expect
monkeypox to become so
widespread is that the US
had previously approved
two vaccines for the virus.
WHAT ARE THE AVAILABLE
MONKEYPOX VACCINES?
Two vaccines are current-
ly approved in the U.S. that
can provide protection
against monkeypox, the
Jynneos vaccine – known
as Imvamune/Imvanex in
Europe – and ACAM2000,
an older smallpox vaccine.
The Jynneos vaccine is
produced by Bavarian
Nordic, a small company
in Denmark. The vaccine
is for the prevention of
smallpox and monkeypox
disease in adults ages 18
and older who are at high
risk for infection with ei-
ther virus. It was approved
in Europe in 2013 and by
the U.S. Food and Drug Ad-
ministration in 2019.
The Jynneos vaccine is
given in two doses four
weeks apart and contains
a live vaccinia virus. Vac-
cinia normally infects cat-
tle and is a type of poxvi-
rus, a family of viruses
that includes smallpox
and monkeypox. The virus
in this vaccine has been
crippled – or attenuated –
so that it is no longer able
to replicate in cells.
This vaccine is good at
protecting those who are at
high risk for monkeypox
fromgettinginfectedbefore
exposure and can also less-
en the severity of disease
post-infection.Itiseffective
against smallpox as well as
monkeypox. Until the re-
cent monkeypox outbreak,
this vaccine was primarily
given to health care work-
ers or people who have had
confirmed or suspected
monkeypox exposure.
The U.S. government
has over 200 million doses
of ACAM2000 stockpiled
in case of a biological
weapon attack of small-
pox. But despite the ade-
quate supply of the vac-
cine, ACAM2000 is not be-
ing used to vaccinate
against monkeypox be-
cause of the risk of seri-
ous adverse side effects.
For now, only designated
U.S. military personnel
and laboratory research-
ers who work with certain
poxviruses may receive
this vaccine.
HOW EFFECTIVE ARE
THESE VACCINES?
According to the U.S. Cent-
ers for Disease Control,
there is not yet any data
available on the effective-
ness of either vaccine in
the current outbreak of
monkeypox. But there is
older data available from
animal studies, clinical tri-
als and studies in Africa.
A number of clinical tri-
als done during the approv-
al process for the Jynneos
vaccine show that when
giventoaperson,ittriggers
a strong antibody response
on par with the ACAM2000
vaccine. An additional
study done in nonhuman
primates showed that vac-
cinated animals that were
infected with monkeypox
survived80%to100%of the
time,comparedwithzeroto
40% survival in unvacci-
nated animals.
Another use of the Jyn-
neos vaccine is as a post-
exposure prophylaxis, or
PEP, meaning the vaccine
can be effective even when
given after exposure to the
virus. Because the monk-
eypox virus incubates in a
person’s body for six to 14
days, the body of someone
who gets the Jynneos vac-
cine shortly after being
exposed will produce anti-
bodies that can help fight
off infection and protect
against a serious monkey-
pox case.
The ACAM2000 data is
older and less precise but
shows strong protection.
Researchers tested the vac-
cine during an outbreak of
monkeypox in central Af-
rica in the 1980s. Although
the study was small and
didn’t directly test vaccine
efficacy, the authors con-
cluded that unvaccinated
people faced an 85% high-
er risk of being infected
than vaccinated people.
DOES A SMALLPOX
VACCINE PROTECT
AGAINST MONKEYPOX?
According to the CDC, a
previous smallpox vacci-
nation does provide some
protection against monk-
eypox, though that protec-
tion wanes over time. Ex-
perts advise that anyone
who had the smallpox vac-
cine more than three years
ago and is at increased
risk for monkeypox get the
monkeypox vaccine.
WHO SHOULD GET
VACCINATED?
At the national level, any-
one who has had close con-
tact with an infected per-
son, who has a weakened
immunesystemorwhohad
dermatitis or eczema is eli-
gible for a Jynneos vaccine.
Somestateandlocalgov-
ernments are also making
vaccines available to peo-
ple in communities at
higher risk for monkey-
pox. For example, New
York City is allowing men
who have sex with men
and who have had multiple
sexual partners in the past
14 days to get vaccinated.
WHAT IS THE SUPPLY LIKE
FOR THE JYNNEOS VACCINE?
As of July 29, 2022, a little
over 300,000 doses have
been shipped to points of
care or administered, with
another 700,000 already al-
located to states across the
U.S.However,demandisfar
outpacing supply
. Public
health officials acknowl-
edge that vaccine supply
shortages have resulted in
long lines and clinics hav-
ing to close when they run
out of vaccines. The issues
have been magnified by
technicalproblemswithon-
line booking systems, par-
ticularly in New York City
.
WHAT ABOUT JUST USING
ONE DOSE OF JYNNEOS?
Although federal health of-
ficials advise against with-
holding the second dose,
some places – including
Washington, D.C., and New
YorkCity–arewithholding
the second dose until more
become available. This
strategy is being used in
Britain and Canada as well
tovaccinateasmanypeople
aspossibleatleastonetime.

Govt to hold exhibitions on ‘horrors of
Partition’ at railway stations, airports
New Delhi (PTI): The
government is set to
hold exhibitions on
“horrors of the Parti-
tion” at key public plac-
es such as railway sta-
tions, airports and
malls between August
10 and August 14.
The Ministry of Cul-

Railway Ministry to
hold such exhibitions
on station premises to
reach out to a maxi-
mum number of people.
Other than railway
stations, such exhibi-
tions to highlight the
“tragedy of the Parti-

ised at important public
places such as banks,
post offices, airports,
shopping malls, educa-
tional institutions and
vocational training in-
stitutes.
In his Independence
Day speech last year,
PM Modi declared Au-
gust 14 to be observed as
“Partition Horrors Re-
membrance Day”.
Partition Horrors Re-
membrance Day has
been envisaged to bring
to light the agony, suf-

lions of people who
were the sufferers. It is
to remind the country
of the largest displace-
ment of human popula-
tion in the last century,
which also claimed the
lives of a large number
of people.
The exhibition will be held between August 10 and August 14.

Didi seeks WB’s dues worth crores
From Pg 1...
It may be recalled, as
exclusively reported in
First India, that the
Assam CM recently met
Mamata Didi in Kolkata
along with then WB
Governor Jagdeep

tea, where he informed
the Chief Minister of
WB of the President of
India’s decision to with-
draw the governor from

mediately after the Kol-

Didi had indicated that
she would abstain from
voting against
Dhankhar’s candida-
ture for VP, as proposed
by NDA headed by PM
Narendra Modi.
The initiative for Fri-
day’s meeting with the
PM, however, is be-
lieved to have come
from Didi’s end further
cementing the Assam
CM’s rising profile as
not only the right hand
of HM Shah but also,
emissary of PM Modi.
WB CM also raised
the issue of rechristen-

The WB CM was also
scheduled to meet with

Barmer: The Barmer

is alleged that instead of

Jaipur: An approxi-
mately 20- minute long
meeting between Chief
Minister Ashok Gehlot
and Director General
of the Anti Corrup-
tion Bureau BL Soni
has raised the curiosi-
ty of the ‘bureaucratic
realm’ and particular-
ly of the IPS commu-
nity of the state. The
meeting that took
place on Friday morn-
ing, when the Chief
Minister was on his
way to the State hang-
er, has left officials
making wild guesses
about what might have
transpired during
those 20 minutes. Soni
reached CMR in the
morning to meet Ge-
hlot from where CM
took Soni with him
from his residence to
the State hanger. Usu-
ally Gehlot sits on the
front seat of the car
but on Friday morn-
ing, CM sat with Soni
on the back seat of the
car and on the way, the
duo held an important
discussion.
After the meeting,
there was a fresh
grapevine that Gehlot
must have offered him
some suitable post re-
tirement offer, which ,
is also likely to happen
when Soni retires on
December 31 this year.
However, according
to reliable input, there
was only some ‘person-
al issue,’ which was
discussed between the
two during the meet-
ing.
Gehlot-Soni’s 20 minute meet leaves babudom ‘perplexed’!

New Delhi/Jaipur:
Chief Minister Ashok
Gehlot while taking a
review meeting of Ani-
mal Husbandry Dept
via VC from Bikaner
House in Delhi, said
that like corona in hu-
mans, now the lumpy
skin disease is spread-
ing very fast in animals.
“The way exemption
was given in the devel-
opment fund of MLAs
during the time of Co-
rona, it had a good ef-
fect. Right now some
MLAs like Mevaram
Jain and Hemaram
Choudhary have of-
fered money from the
fund in order to save the
lives of animals. I will
direct Animal Hus-
bandry Minister Lal-
chand Kataria that
MLAs can give Rs 10
lakh in CM Relief Fund
so that there is no short-
age of funds. We have to
save the cow. It is a big
decision of the state
government to give
grant of 9 months in-
stead of 6 in a year. At
the time of long illness,
our duty increases,” Ge-
hlot said.
He said that lumpy skin
disease has suddenly
spread very fast in the
last 2-4 days. “We should
take it as a challenge,”
he said.
From P1...
Gehlot said that when
the assembly session is
going on, no such meet-
ing can be held in the
districts where, the
MLA has to participate.
“This is the first time
that Parliament is in
session and in between,
Mallikarjun Kharge
and Sonia Gandhi are
being called for ques-
tioning. That’s why I
said that there is ED. If
National Herald news-
paper can be attacked
and then it can happen
to anyone,” he said.
Gehlot further added,
“I want to remind what
the ideologue Martin
Nimole had said about
Hitler’s dictatorship in
Germany. During Hit-
ler’s dictatorship, when
the opposition, etc
started targeting them,
people were silent.
thinking that there is a
political fight. When
Germany was ruined
by Hitler’s dictatorship
in 1945, people had to
repent. If voice for de-
mocracy was raised in
time, the country would
not have been ruined.
Similarly, if we remain
silent today

Jaipur: A ‘million-dollar’ question, ‘Who will be the new
Election Commissioner of Rajasthan’ has been doing
the rounds in state bureaucracy, the answer to which,
no one knows. After the retirement of PS Mehra, the
round of discussions about this prime position has
come to life. Interestingly, one of Gehlot’s favourite
officers, IPS BL Soni’s name is on top. Meanwhile, a
recently retired IAS has also become active in the mat-
ter to the extent that lobbying for the position is being
done from Delhi. IAS and its equivalent All India service
officers are eligible for the post. Notably, if an officer is
made Election Commissioner while in service, then the
officer would be considered deemed retired. Now, CM

Friendship
Day
. Actually
,
there is no
such “day”
in true
friendship. With a
close friend, you may
celebrate life togeth-
er every day. The
bonds of friendship
are things we devel-
op with other people.
For the majority of
us, friends come and
go frequently during
our lives. Some,
though, are here to
stay. These are the
real pals we have.
Every true connec-
tion is unique. We all
need some inspiring,
thought-provoking,
and life-changing
movies on friendship
as Friendship’s Day
approaches to make
up for the fact that
our close friends are
still thousands of
miles away. As you
become older, you re-
alise that keeping
friendships takes
time and effort but
you also realise how
important it is to
keep up with the im-
portant people in
your life. City First

of the best Bolly-

3 IDIOTS
We find ourselves watching Rancho, Raju,
and Farhan’s adventure over and over
again because it is simultaneously painful
and funny. Their relationship captivates us
with its sweetness and makes us think of
our college friends and that one eccentric
buddy who always dared to think outside
the box.
AE DIL HAI
MUSHKIL
Alizeh (Anushka
Sharma) and Ayaan
(Ranbir Kapoor),
albeit somewhat com-
plicated, do not end
up together. Ayaan
does develop feelings
for his friend, but
the film’s high point
is undoubtedly her
assertion that “Pyar
mein junoon hai, par
dosti mein sukoon
hain.”
VEERE DI WEDDING
Women were thrilled to see a movie on female friendship
after decades of movies celebrating male camaraderie.
Kareena Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar, and
Shikha Talsania, our “Veeres,” demonstrated to us that no
matter what happens in life, you can always trust on your
gal buddies!
ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA
The trio of closest friends. They have an
old duty to uphold as well as a bet to fulfil.
which is to do out three terrifying acts
simultaneously while on vacation, as in-
structed by each. Will we be together till the
end of time? Well…? Yes, in some ways.
Without a question, the movie is a ‘bro-
mance,’ or a hard-core male-bonding story.
SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY
You must see the humorous story of “Bromance
vs. Romance”! Kartik Aaryan, Nushrat Bharucha,
Sunny Nijar, Alok Nath, and Ishita Raj Sharma
are a few of the actors that appear in it. The
movie will make you laugh until your cheeks
ache, but it also has just the right amount of
sadness to make you value your real friends.
DIL
CHAHTA HAI
This movie is like a breath
of fresh air. Does the movie still
qualify as one of the best bro-
mances 20 years after its release?
Everybody is in pain, and occa-
sionally everyone is crying. Eve-
ryone is also romantic. You’ll
see the significance of Dil
Chahta Hai if you ac-
cept it.
One such movie that really portrays friendship and love is Angry Indian Goddesses. Angry
Indian Goddesses, dubbed “India’s first buddy female picture,” addresses a variety of problems
that Indians must deal with, including gender inequality, the objectification of women for sex,
gay-straight friendships, big business versus tribal rights, rape issues, caste prejudice, and leni-
ent justice. Excellent performers like Sandhya Mridul, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Sarah-Jane Dias,
Anushka Manchanda, Amrit Maghera, and Rajshri Deshpande appear in this movie.
DEAR ZINDAGI
The story of how Kaira (Alia Bhatt), who has seen a
string of romantic and professional setbacks, devel-
ops insomnia is rather interesting and a welcome
change from the usual Bollywood mood. She eventu-
ally makes touch with psychotherapist Jehangir Khan
(Shah Rukh Khan), who treats her using unusual
techniques. Although most people would anticipate
the two of them would eventually start to fall in love,
it’s lovely to watch them maintain only a loving friend-
ship until the very end.

Even on Friday its leaders and workers donned black cloth and raised slogans against inflation and GST which is hurting the poor. As the Congress intensi- fied its protests, dramatic scenes were witnessed in the national capital. Rahul Gandhi was detained by the police and his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who resisted her deten- tion, was dragged and put into a police vehicle for breaking a barricade. Sev- eral other party workers were also detained. The noticeable part was that despite being in a weak state, the party was able to put up a massive show. Regional outfits in Uttar Pradesh like the Samajwa- di Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party , which should havealsotakentothestreet on inflation and GST, have stayed put inside their cosy rooms. The reason could have been either the fear of the Enforcement Directo- rate or they simply avoided being seen as supporting the Congress even if it was for a genuine cause. The Congress has re- cently been protesting against ED’s notices to its president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case. Pro- tests then followed each time the two leaders were summoned for question- ing. On Thursday the ED mandated Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposi- tion in the Rajya Sabha, to be present in the Young In- dianoffice, whentheHouse was in session. As Friday’s protests were staged al- most in continuation of the previous ones it appears that the party is fearing the worst in the National Her- ald case and wants to keep up the pressure. TOP TWEETS A previous study reported that a single shot of the Jynneos vaccine protected monkeys infected with monkeypox and that this protection lasted for at least two years. If this holds up in the real world, it would support withholding second doses in favor of immunizing more Americans. This would be key as many health experts expect the virus to continue spreading, furthering increasing demand of the vaccine onkeypox isn’t going to be the next Covid-19. But with the outbreak having bloomed to thousands of infections, with cases in nearly every state, on Au- gust 4, 2022, the US de- clared monkeypox a na- tional public health emer- gency. One reason health experts did not expect monkeypox to become so widespread is that the US had previously approved two vaccines for the virus. WHAT ARE THE AVAILABLE MONKEYPOX VACCINES? Two vaccines are current- ly approved in the U.S. that can provide protection against monkeypox, the Jynneos vaccine – known as Imvamune/Imvanex in Europe – and ACAM2000, an older smallpox vaccine. The Jynneos vaccine is produced by Bavarian Nordic, a small company in Denmark. The vaccine is for the prevention of smallpox and monkeypox disease in adults ages 18 and older who are at high risk for infection with ei- ther virus. It was approved in Europe in 2013 and by the U.S. Food and Drug Ad- ministration in 2019. The Jynneos vaccine is given in two doses four weeks apart and contains a live vaccinia virus. Vac- cinia normally infects cat- tle and is a type of poxvi- rus, a family of viruses that includes smallpox and monkeypox. The virus in this vaccine has been crippled – or attenuated – so that it is no longer able to replicate in cells. This vaccine is good at protecting those who are at high risk for monkeypox fromgettinginfectedbefore exposure and can also less- en the severity of disease post-infection.Itiseffective against smallpox as well as monkeypox. Until the re- cent monkeypox outbreak, this vaccine was primarily given to health care work- ers or people who have had confirmed or suspected monkeypox exposure. The U.S. government has over 200 million doses of ACAM2000 stockpiled in case of a biological weapon attack of small- pox. But despite the ade- quate supply of the vac- cine, ACAM2000 is not be- ing used to vaccinate against monkeypox be- cause of the risk of seri- ous adverse side effects. For now, only designated U.S. military personnel and laboratory research- ers who work with certain poxviruses may receive this vaccine. HOW EFFECTIVE ARE THESE VACCINES? According to the U.S. Cent- ers for Disease Control, there is not yet any data available on the effective- ness of either vaccine in the current outbreak of monkeypox. But there is older data available from animal studies, clinical tri- als and studies in Africa. A number of clinical tri- als done during the approv- al process for the Jynneos vaccine show that when giventoaperson, ittriggers a strong antibody response on par with the ACAM2000 vaccine. An additional study done in nonhuman primates showed that vac- cinated animals that were infected with monkeypox survived80%to100%of the time, comparedwithzeroto 40% survival in unvacci- nated animals. Another use of the Jyn- neos vaccine is as a post- exposure prophylaxis, or PEP, meaning the vaccine can be effective even when given after exposure to the virus. Because the monk- eypox virus incubates in a person’s body for six to 14 days, the body of someone who gets the Jynneos vac- cine shortly after being exposed will produce anti- bodies that can help fight off infection and protect against a serious monkey- pox case. The ACAM2000 data is older and less precise but shows strong protection. Researchers tested the vac- cine during an outbreak of monkeypox in central Af- rica in the 1980s. Although the study was small and didn’t directly test vaccine efficacy, the authors con- cluded that unvaccinated people faced an 85% high- er risk of being infected than vaccinated people. DOES A SMALLPOX VACCINE PROTECT AGAINST MONKEYPOX? According to the CDC, a previous smallpox vacci- nation does provide some protection against monk- eypox, though that protec- tion wanes over time. Ex- perts advise that anyone who had the smallpox vac- cine more than three years ago and is at increased risk for monkeypox get the monkeypox vaccine. WHO SHOULD GET VACCINATED? At the national level, any- one who has had close con- tact with an infected per- son, who has a weakened immunesystemorwhohad dermatitis or eczema is eli- gible for a Jynneos vaccine. Somestateandlocalgov- ernments are also making vaccines available to peo- ple in communities at higher risk for monkey- pox. For example, New York City is allowing men who have sex with men and who have had multiple sexual partners in the past 14 days to get vaccinated. WHAT IS THE SUPPLY LIKE FOR THE JYNNEOS VACCINE? As of July 29, 2022, a little over 300,000 doses have been shipped to points of care or administered, with another 700,000 already al- located to states across the U.S.However,demandisfar outpacing supply . Public health officials acknowl- edge that vaccine supply shortages have resulted in long lines and clinics hav- ing to close when they run out of vaccines. The issues have been magnified by technicalproblemswithon- line booking systems, par- ticularly in New York City . WHAT ABOUT JUST USING ONE DOSE OF JYNNEOS? Although federal health of- ficials advise against with- holding the second dose, some places – including Washington, D.C., and New YorkCity–arewithholding the second dose until more become available. This strategy is being used in Britain and Canada as well tovaccinateasmanypeople aspossibleatleastonetime. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha JK PARTIES SLAM CENTRE, SEEK ROLLBACK OF MOVE OVER 88 PC DROP IN LAW AND ORDER INCIDENTS IN KASHMIR Srinagar (PTI): The National Conference and the Peoples Democratic Party on Friday flayed the Centre for “robbing” the people of Jammu and Kashmir of their special status on this day three years ago and demanded rollback of the move. Former CM and PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, along with her supporters, tried to take out a march from party headquarters but were stopped by police. Srinagar (PTI): Law and order incidents in Kashmir have dropped by over 88% in three years since the revocation of the erstwhile state’s special status compared to the preced- ing 3 years, police said. From August 5, 2016, to August 4, 2019, as per the data shared by the police. The police said while 124 civilians were killed in law and order situations in Kashmir in 3 years prior to August 5, 2019, no civilian was killed since then. ABROGATION OF SPECIAL STATUS Didi seeks WB’s dues worth crores From Pg 1... It may be recalled, as exclusively reported in First India, that the Assam CM recently met Mamata Didi in Kolkata along with then WB Governor Jagdeep Dhahkhar over high tea, where he informed the Chief Minister of WB of the President of India’s decision to with- draw the governor from her state. The TMC CM had a very turbulent re- lationship with Dhankhar till then and was believed to be on the verge of initiating impeachment proceed- ings against him. Im- mediately after the Kol- kata meeting Mamata Didi had indicated that she would abstain from voting against Dhankhar’s candida- ture for VP, as proposed by NDA headed by PM Narendra Modi. The initiative for Fri- day’s meeting with the PM, however, is be- lieved to have come from Didi’s end further cementing the Assam CM’s rising profile as not only the right hand of HM Shah but also, emissary of PM Modi. WB CM also raised the issue of rechristen- ingWBasBanglaacross all language formats besides another issue with PM Modi during her meeting on Friday. The WB CM was also scheduled to meet with the newly elected Presi- dent of India Droupadi Murmu. Mamata Banerjee

The meeting that took place on Friday morn- ing, when the Chief Minister was on his way to the State hang- er, has left officials making wild guesses about what might have transpired during those 20 minutes. Soni reached CMR in the morning to meet Ge- hlot from where CM took Soni with him from his residence to the State hanger. Usu- ally Gehlot sits on the front seat of the car but on Friday morn- ing, CM sat with Soni on the back seat of the car and on the way, the duo held an important discussion. After the meeting, there was a fresh grapevine that Gehlot must have offered him some suitable post re- tirement offer, which , is also likely to happen when Soni retires on December 31 this year. However, according to reliable input, there was only some ‘person- al issue,’ which was discussed between the two during the meet- ing. Gehlot-Soni’s 20 minute meet leaves babudom ‘perplexed’! I will direct Animal Hus- bandry Minister Lal- chand Kataria that MLAs can give Rs 10 lakh in CM Relief Fund so that there is no short- age of funds. We have to save the cow. It is a big decision of the state government to give grant of 9 months in- stead of 6 in a year. At the time of long illness, our duty increases,” Ge- hlot said. He said that lumpy skin disease has suddenly spread very fast in the last 2-4 days. “We should take it as a challenge,” he said. From P1... Gehlot said that when the assembly session is going on, no such meet- ing can be held in the districts where, the MLA has to participate. “This is the first time that Parliament is in session and in between, Mallikarjun Kharge and Sonia Gandhi are being called for ques- tioning. That’s why I said that there is ED. If National Herald news- paper can be attacked and then it can happen to anyone,” he said. Gehlot further added, “I want to remind what the ideologue Martin Nimole had said about Hitler’s dictatorship in Germany. During Hit- ler’s dictatorship, when the opposition, etc started targeting them, people were silent. thinking that there is a political fight. When Germany was ruined by Hitler’s dictatorship in 1945, people had to repent. If voice for de- mocracy was raised in time, the country would not have been ruined. Similarly, if we remain silent today , history will not forgive us.” First India Bureau Jaipur: In the transfer case of Rajasthan’s fa- mous IPS Pankaj Choudhary, the Princi- pal Judicial Authority, New Delhi issued no- tice to Raj CS, Princi- pal Secre- tary Home, Principal Secretary Personnel, DGP Rajasthan Raj- kumar Gupta IPS on Friday . Actually , there is no such “day” in true friendship. With a close friend, you may celebrate life togeth- er every day. The bonds of friendship are things we devel- op with other people. For the majority of us, friends come and go frequently during our lives. Some, though, are here to stay. These are the real pals we have. Every true connec- tion is unique. We all need some inspiring, thought-provoking, and life-changing movies on friendship as Friendship’s Day approaches to make up for the fact that our close friends are still thousands of miles away. As you become older, you re- alise that keeping friendships takes time and effort but you also realise how important it is to keep up with the im- portant people in your life. City First brings to you some of the best Bolly- wood movies you can stream with your friends and make it a weekend full of memories and nos- talgic talks. SHUBHANSHI PATHAK cityfirst@firstindia.co.in I 3 IDIOTS We find ourselves watching Rancho, Raju, and Farhan’s adventure over and over again because it is simultaneously painful and funny. Their relationship captivates us with its sweetness and makes us think of our college friends and that one eccentric buddy who always dared to think outside the box. AE DIL HAI MUSHKIL Alizeh (Anushka Sharma) and Ayaan (Ranbir Kapoor), albeit somewhat com- plicated, do not end up together. Ayaan does develop feelings for his friend, but the film’s high point is undoubtedly her assertion that “Pyar mein junoon hai, par dosti mein sukoon hain.” VEERE DI WEDDING Women were thrilled to see a movie on female friendship after decades of movies celebrating male camaraderie. Kareena Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar, and Shikha Talsania, our “Veeres,” demonstrated to us that no matter what happens in life, you can always trust on your gal buddies! ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA The trio of closest friends. They have an old duty to uphold as well as a bet to fulfil. which is to do out three terrifying acts simultaneously while on vacation, as in- structed by each. Will we be together till the end of time? Well…? Yes, in some ways. Without a question, the movie is a ‘bro- mance,’ or a hard-core male-bonding story. SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY You must see the humorous story of “Bromance vs. Romance”! Kartik Aaryan, Nushrat Bharucha, Sunny Nijar, Alok Nath, and Ishita Raj Sharma are a few of the actors that appear in it. The movie will make you laugh until your cheeks ache, but it also has just the right amount of sadness to make you value your real friends. DIL CHAHTA HAI This movie is like a breath of fresh air. Does the movie still qualify as one of the best bro- mances 20 years after its release? Everybody is in pain, and occa- sionally everyone is crying. Eve- ryone is also romantic. You’ll see the significance of Dil Chahta Hai if you ac- cept it. One such movie that really portrays friendship and love is Angry Indian Goddesses. Angry Indian Goddesses, dubbed “India’s first buddy female picture,” addresses a variety of problems that Indians must deal with, including gender inequality, the objectification of women for sex, gay-straight friendships, big business versus tribal rights, rape issues, caste prejudice, and leni- ent justice. Excellent performers like Sandhya Mridul, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Sarah-Jane Dias, Anushka Manchanda, Amrit Maghera, and Rajshri Deshpande appear in this movie. DEAR ZINDAGI The story of how Kaira (Alia Bhatt), who has seen a string of romantic and professional setbacks, devel- ops insomnia is rather interesting and a welcome change from the usual Bollywood mood. She eventu- ally makes touch with psychotherapist Jehangir Khan (Shah Rukh Khan), who treats her using unusual techniques. Although most people would anticipate the two of them would eventually start to fall in love, it’s lovely to watch them maintain only a loving friend- ship until the very end.
