EXTREME STEP
Childless contractor kidnaps labourer’s son
Noida (PTI): A con-
struction contractor in
Greater Noida was ar-
rested on Thursday for
allegedly kidnapping a
one-and-a-half-year-old
son of a daily-wage la-
bourer working for
him. The child was res-
cued safely within
three hours from his
possession, police said.
The 39-year-old con-
tractor and his wife
were married for over
eight years but were
unable to have a child
of their own because
of which he took this
step, they said.
Around 12.15 pm
Thursday, an emergen-
cy call was made on
the 112 number from
the Knowledge Park
area of Greater Noida
and the police were
alerted about a child
being kidnapped by an
unidentified person in
a white-coloured car, a
police spokesperson
said.
An FIR was lodged at
the local police station
immediately and a
search was launched
with multiple police
teams led by SHO
Knowledge Park police
station Vinod Kumar
Singh and Sub Inspec-
tor Varun Panwar of
Dadri police station
under supervision of
senior officers, the
spokesperson said.
Within three hours,
the child was traced
near the LG rounda-
bout and it emerged
that he was kidnapped
by contractor Ra-
mashankar Pandey.
The child was rescued
safely and handed over
to his family after due
procedures, he said.
The contractor and
the child’s father work
at the same project in
Greater Noida’s Expo
Mart, SHO Vinod Ku-
mar Singh said. A
Maruti Brezza car,
which was used for
kidnapping the child,

CM YOGI IN HARIDWAR VOWS TO PROTECT RIVER
‘We freed Ganga from sewage of Sisamau, Jajmau drains’
First India Bureau
Haridwar/Lucknow:
Stressing the need to
maintain cleanliness
of river Ganga, Chief
Minister Yogi Adity-
anath on Thursday
said that Uttar Pradesh
and Uttarakhand to-
gether are working to
safeguard the religious
sentiments of millions.
While addressing
the Sparsh Ganga Cam-
paign in Haridwar in
presence of his Uttara-
khand counterpart
Pushkar Singh Dhami,
Yogi Adityanath said,
“River Ganga has an
extreme social, eco-
nomic and spiritual
significance. Even as
the ambitious Namami
Gange project has so
far given some encour-
aging results as far as
cleanliness of Ganga is
concerned, greater
awareness and public
participation is a must
to realise the goal.”
Emphasising that
Uttar Pradesh has a
major role towards en-
suring the cleanliness
of river Ganga, the CM
said, “During its 2550-
km journey across In-
dia, the Ganga covers
the maximum distance
– 1155 km – in Uttar
Pradesh. River Ganga
has not only made our
land fertile and living
easier, but is also the
most important factor
behind the state having
immense resources.”
The CM said it was a
matterof greatconcern
and disappointment to
see the river in such a
bad shape in Kanpur.
“This has hurt both the
faith and the economy
of the state. So, the real
challenge was to clean
it up in Kanpur where a
huge amount of indus-
trial waste was drain-
ing into it,” he said,
adding that “due to the
dedicated efforts today
,
the sewage of drains
like Sisamau and Jaj-
mau no longer empties
into Ganga.”
CM Yogi said that
the fertile Gangetic
plains feed the entire
nation. “The state gov-
ernment is taking eve-
ry possible step to en-
sure the cleanliness of
the Ganga. Public par-
ticipation is also essen-
tial in this resolve. We
have to prevent dirty
drains from falling into
the Ganga through the
cities and villages. If
we work with commit-
ment by setting goals,
then Ganga will be-
come an example in the
country and the
world,” he said.
He also urged the
people to give up the
mentality to harm the
river and give up the
practices of disposing
of dead bodies, dead
animals, waste and
plastic in the Ganga.
“It is our moral respon-
sibility and resolve to
keep all the tributaries
that connect with the
Ganges clean,” he said.
CM Yogi Adityanath performs Ganga Puja in Haridwar on
Thursday along with Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami.
NABBED WHILE TAKING
CHILD HOME IN CAR
During initial inquiry, the contractor told the
police that he and his wife had been married
for over eight years but were unable to have a
child of their own. The contractor lives in Dadri
area and was on his way home with the child in
his Maruti Brezza car when he was nabbed by
the police, police said.

First India Bureau
Lucknow: CM Yogi’s

one of his staunchest

Lucknow’s Munnawar

Rana’s tweet took

sarcastic remarks from

becoming CM again.
Back in January,
speaking to the media,
Munawwar Rana had
said, “If Yogi Aditya-

I will leave Uttar

painful for me, but since
the state in itself is in
danger, I am left with no
other option but to

sight to see senior Congress

the sale of Metro Dairy shares to

.
The case seeking probe into

Apparently, Chidambaram did
not feel embarrassed at his court

The Supreme Court’s judg-

T
he world is no more round we
are surviving in a flat world
now. The economy is flat
world economy. Flat world
economy is characterized by
new-age creativity, new-age
connectivity, workflow soft-
ware, outsourcing, insourc-
ing, off shoring, supply chain
management, search en-
gines, uploading and digital
steroids. All these flatteners
have intermingled now
which were earlier working
independently and outcome
is that economic power is
shifting from west European
countries to BRICS, there is
death of distance and disci-
plines. Economic models,
sustainable development
models are under search and
review.
When we discuss about the
next normal, it means we
have done something wrong
in the past. In a flat world sce-
nario shocks are inevitable
viz. Pandemic or war or pet-
rol prices or supply chains
disruptions geo- economic or
geo- political issues. Econo-
mies have to evolve or devise
certain resilient strategies to
survive among these shocks.
Presently we have adopted
stake holder’s capitalism
model while to reach to next
normal or to devise a strategy
for sustainable future by opt-
ing new model. Cost of transi-
tion from existing model to
new model is very high.
THE ESG STRATEGY
The economy has to be shift-
ed from stake holder’s capi-
talism model to environment,
social and governance model
(ESG model) for sustainable
future. We have to shift from
profit model (greed is good
model) to people, planet and
profit harmony model so that
coexistence may be inculcat-
ed. Carbon reporting, green
investment, waste water
management, forestation,
initiatives to optimum water
uses, ownership of contami-
nated land and moving to
crops which are less water
intensive. Social awareness
consist of social benefits of
investments, socially respon-
sible investments. caring for
local community, gender sen-
sitivity, data security, cus-
tomer satisfaction, anti-sexu-
al harassment laws, work
place conflicts redressal, hu-
man rights at home and
abroad, fare labor practices,
employer of choice , use of
electrical vehicles, LGBTQIA
rights etc.
While governance requires
strict regulatory controls.
Good governance, optimum
performance, social security
,
top line growth, resilient pol-
icies, transparent accounting
system, government inter-
ventions, avoiding conflict of
interest in choices and wom-
en as one of the Director in
company board are few provi-
sions for governance.
FIVE PILLARS
OF SUCCESS
Sustainable future strategy
shall look into how much en-
vironmentally responsible
companies have behaved?
How much corporate sector
gives back to the society?
Corporate have to behave and
function with utmost ethics,
transparency and sufficient
disclosures. A holistic decen-
tralization strategy has to be
devised.
Companies need to devise
ESG based performance indi-
cators and firms like Ama-
zon, IBM , GE , IBP have al-
ready taken steps in the di-
rection . These companies
have also devised environ-
mentally intelligence suite
for risk management and
energy efficiency
.

z Green recovery economy

z Reduced internet traffic

z Avoidance of protectionism

z Future proofing/assuring of
MSMEs

z Education to support lifelong
learning
Investors in times to come
will look forward ESG in-
vesting which includes sus-
tainable investment, socially
responsible investment im-
pact centric investment and
investors look at various
other board range of behav-
ior . Cost of transition to ESG
model is very high and this
cost need to be reduced and
controlled. .Shift of model
may create green inflation
initially but it is inevitable.
DRIVERS OF CHANGE

z Physical drivers

z Digital drivers

z Biological drivers
Physical drivers of change
includes autonomous vehi-
cles, driverless cars and
trucks, censors responding
to environmental low cost
availability of drones com-
bined with availability of
agricultural data will bring
sufficient use of water and
fertilizer. 3D printing, hu-
man cells and organ trans-
plantation, 4D printing will
be capable of responding en-
vironmental changes like
heat and humidity. Advance
robotics is not far in areas
like agriculture to medical.
Co-operative robots (CO-
BOTS) will come for team
work. New material are
emergingwhichare200times
stronger than steel called
‘GRAPHENE’. Digital drives
like Internet of things, RFID,
digital clothing has emerged.
Face book does not own any
content of itself. Biological
Drivers like genetics, editing
of inactive genes, GM plants
etc will make transforma-
tional shifts in the society
.
EPILOGUE
New strategy will have great
impact on the economy, GNP,
investment, employment,
competitiveness, planning,
productivity, carbon emis-
sion, green investment etc.,.
Jobs like secretary, referee,
umpire, coffee shop, courier,
messenger would find them-
selves difficult to sustain in
the near future. While jobs
like Surgeon, Doctor, Teach-
er, choreographer, musician,
analysts, bio-statistician
would be able sustain with
some updated versions of the
same.

PM REVIEWS HEATWAVE MANAGEMENT, MONSOON PREPAREDNESS
INDIA CONTINUES TO REEL UNDER
SEVERE HEATWAVE CONDITIONS
New Delhi (ANI):
Prime Minister Naren-
dra Modi on Thursday
chaired a meeting to re-
view heatwave manage-
ment and monsoon pre-
paredness.
Several parts of the
country have been reel-
ing under an intense
heatwaveforthepastfew
weeks with tempera-
tures soaring to an all-
timetimehighinseveral
places. Average maxi-
mum temperatures
reached 35.9 and 37.78
degrees Celsius in the
northwest and central
India respectively with
both the regions of the
country experiencing
the hottest April in 122
years.
A hailstorm and rain-
fall lashed parts of Delhi
on Wednesday bringing
much-neededrelief from
the unrelenting heat.
The heatwave is likely to
return after May 7 as per
the predictions of a sen-
ior scientist at India Me-
teorologicalDepartment
(IMD), RK Jenamani.
The heatwave began
in late March in north-
ern India and spread
into the first weeks of
April. Although heat-
waves are not uncom-
mon in this region dur-
ing the pre-monsoon
season from April to
June, residents and me-
teorologists have noted
that this heatwave was
the earliest they could
remember. The average
temperature in India in
March 2022 was about 33
degrees Celsius, the
warmest March ever re-
corded since records be-
gan in 1902. In major cit-
ies such as Delhi, tem-
peratures went up to
over 45 degrees Celsius.
These temperatures are
10 degrees Celsius
warmerthanthenormal
high temperatures for
April and approached
the all-time record tem-
peratures for the month.
Temperatures in ma-
jor metropolitan areas
can be further exacer-
bated by the urban heat
island effect, increasing
local temperatures a
few degrees higher than
the surrounding coun-
tryside.

Heatwave to return to northwest, central India from May 7: IMD
New Delhi (ANI): The
Director-General of
Meteorology at the
India Meteorological
Department (IMD)
Mrutyunjay Mohapa-
tra said on Thursday
that a fresh spell of
heatwave is likely to
commence in some
parts of northwest
India and central India.
“A fresh heatwave
spell is likely to com-
mence in Rajasthan.
Isolated heatwave con-
ditions are expected
to start in Rajasthan,
Madhya Pradesh, and
Vidarbha especially.
For Rajasthan, it will
be for today and tomor-
row (May 5 and 6), and
on May 7, it (heatwave)
will spread into some
other parts of north-
west India and central
India,” Mohapatra
said.
A heatwave warning
will be issued for iso-
lated places of Ra-
jasthan, Madhya
Pradesh and the Vid-
arbha area, soon.
“The heatwave con-
dition is likely to
spread to some more
parts of northwest and
central India after May
7,” he said.

weather patterns in
South India, the IMD
Andhra Pradesh has is-
sued several guidelines
for the weather for the

“An attempt is being

WHO’s claim of 4.7 million Covid
deaths questionable, says India
New Delhi (Agencies):
India has strongly refut-
ed the World Health Or-
ganisation’s (WHO) use
of mathematical model
to calculate the number
of Covid deaths, saying
the “figure is totally re-
moved from reality”.
Contending that the
countryhasan“extreme-
ly robust” system of
births and deaths regis-
tration, the Union health
ministry
, in its rebuttal,
called the WHO’s system
of data collection “statis-
tically unsound and sci-
entificallyquestionable”.
In a report released
on Thursday, WHO said
between January 2020
and December 2021,
there were 4.7 million
Covid deaths in India —
10 times the official fig-
ures and almost a third
of Covid deaths global-
ly
. The global figure, ac-
cording to the report,
was 15 million — more
than double the official
figure of 6 million.
India has recorded
roughly 520,000 fatali-
ties due to Covid in the
same period.
“India has consistent-
ly questioned WHO’s
own admission that data
in respect of seventeen
Indian states was ob-
tained from some web-
sites and media reports
and was used in their
mathematical model,”
the Ministry of Health
andFamilyWelfaresaid.
“This reflects a statis-
tically unsound and sci-
entifically questionable
methodology of data
collection for making
excess mortality projec-
tions in case of India,”
the statement added.
“Despite India’s ob-
jection to the process,
methodology and out-
come of this modelling
exercise, WHO has re-
leased the excess mor-
tality estimates without
adequately addressing
India’s concerns,” the
ministry said.

Loudspeaker row: Book Raj Thackeray

The PIL also sought
direction to restrain
him from organising

may lead to breach of

speech was aimed at
”creating a divide in
the society”, Thacker-
ay began to implement

ADITYANATH
SPENDS
ANOTHER DAY
WITH RELATIVES
IN ANCESTRAL
VILLAGE
Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanatah, who is on a
three-day visit to his home state
Uttarakhand, spent another day
with his relatives and friends in
his ancestral village and attended
a family function. Before taking
part in the hair tonsure
ceremony of his nephew,
Adityanath went for a walk with
his relatives and friends at
daybreak to revisit his favourite
haunts where loved to play as a
child. As he walked through the
streets with a smile on his face,
people of all age groups greeted
him. Yogi addressed those he
knew by their names and asked
them how they were doing.
Young children came and
touched his feet and took selfies
with him. As he returned from
his early morning stroll, there
was a seemingly endless stream
of visitors from his village and
nearby areas to see him. He met
them and later joined the rest of
the family to watch the hair
tonsure ceremony of his nephew.

NO ACCUSED
CAN BE
SUMMONED
ORALLY TO
POLICE STATION:
ALLAHABAD HC
The Lucknow bench of the
Allahabad High Court has
directed the Uttar Pradesh
government that no person,
including an accused, can be
summoned to a police station
orally by subordinate police
officials without the consent/
approval of the station in-charge.
The bench comprising Justice
Arvind Kumar Mishra and Justice
Manish Mathur on Wednesday
directed that in case a complaint
is made at any police station that
necessitates an investigation and
the presence of the accused, a
suitable course of action as
prescribed under provisions of the
Criminal Procedure Code is to be
followed, which contemplates
serving a written notice upon such
a person, but only after a case has
been registered. The bench
emphasised that a person’s life,
liberty, and dignity cannot be
jeopardised based solely on the
verbal orders of police officers. In
this case, a letter petition was filed
before the High Court in which a
girl (Sarojini) claimed that her
parents (Ram Vilas and Savitri)
were summoned to the Mahila
Thana Police Station in Lucknow
and did not return. The petition
was treated as Habeas Corpus and
was heard on April 8 when the
government counsel informed the
Court that no such occurrence
had taken place at the police
station. On April 13, petitioners
Savitri and Ram Vilas and their
daughter appeared before the
Court and said that some police
personnel summoned them to the
police station, and when they
arrived, they were detained and
threatened by police personnel.
On the same day, the Inspector of
the concerned police station
informed the Court that the
petitioners had visited the police
station on April 8 around 12 noon
in connection with a dispute over
the partition of ancestral property,
and after recording their
statements, they were allowed to
leave the police station around
3.30 p.m. on the same day. In
light of the facts of the case, the
Court emphasised that there is no
provision in either the Indian
Constitution or the CrPC that
requires a police official to
summon and detain a person even
without the filing of an FIR, and
that too orally.—First India Bureau

think twice and went to
Odisha and have been
managing elections in
other states also. I have
got representation in
the Rajya Sabha twice.

z Despite being on re-
sponsible position,
you keep smiling. Do
you never face stress?
Never. There is so much
work, but there is no
stress. Whenever there
is a responsibility or
stress, I write it down in
the diary
. Sometimes it
is tough to sleep during
night but I jot down
tasks at hand in the di-
ary and sleep peacefully
.
After ticket was denied
to me in 2014 from Ma-
thura,IonceaskedAmit
Shah, when he was
about to become nation-
al president, that I
worked so hard but why
was I not given chance
to contest poll. Shah
then told me not to wor-
ry and that he would re-
turn my hard work with
interest. Later, he made
me national general sec-
retary
. His decision
making is fast and and
he has immense clarity
.

z How do you rate
Amit Shah as party
president and deci-
sive Home minister?
I consider myself fortu-
nate to have worked
with him closely from
2015-19 as general secre-
tary headquarter. He is
very hard working and
pays several visits even
to the district level of-
fice bearers. As the par-
ty president, he has vis-
ited every state and
stayed the night there
twice or thrice. Under
his leadership, the BJP
became the largest par-
ty of the World.

z Is the pace same
during JP Nadda’s
tenure?
The pace is good. Nadda
ji is carrying forward
the legacy and also do-
ing innovations. During
Covid,Seva-Hi-Sangath-
an work under guidance
of PM Modi by Nadda ji
brought wonderous (]
results in service of hu-
mans and even animals.

z When did you meet
Amit Shah and Nar-
endra Modi for the
first time?
ImetShahin2013forthe
first time. I met Modi ji
waybackin2002-03when
he was national general
secretary(organisation).
Before becoming CM, he
once addressed a meet-
ing of BJYM and I have
notes of what he said
that time. His vision was
great that time also.

z JP Nadda is fre-
quently visiting Ra-
jasthan. Is Rajasthan
seeming a big chal-
lenge to the BJP?
For us, every state is a
challenge. There is no
major challenge in Ra-
jasthan, but we have to
raise several issues aris-
ing out of anger in the
minds of the public due
to unfulfilled promises.

z Are you going to
form the government
in Rajasthan?
101%, there is no doubt
in it. We will form the
government with three-
fourth majority and
there is no doubt in that.

z What is reason be-
hind this confidence?
There is problem of eve-
rythinginRajasthanbeit
water,electricity
,lawand
order, and even corrup-
tion. Gehlot government
is engaged in saving the
chair. The government,
which is surrounded by
crisis, has put the public
in crisis,therefore, the
ouster of such govern-
ment is sure.

z But how will your
party win Rajasthan
with a divided house?
I look at it from another
perspective. Congress
party is a leaderless
party. Rahul Gandhi
cannot give direction,
guidance, and inspira-
tion to any state unit as
he is himself confused
on every issue.

z But this election is
in Rajasthan and not
of Rahul Gandhi?
Now, consider Sachin
Pilot and Ashok Gehlot
are fighting then who
will handle them. There
has to be guidance or in-
spiration or discipline
of a national leader over
the state leadership.

z Why is there so
much ambiguity about
leadership? Why can-
not parties give clarity
about the leadership
so that workers are
not confused?
I have repeated it hun-
dred times that our par-
liamentary board will
take right decision at
the right time and it has
happened in other
states also. In 2017, no
CM faces were declared
in UP and Uttarakhand
and those whose photos
were carried on ban-
ners, none of them were
made the CM. However,
during this election the
CM face was declared.
The highest decision
making body of the par-
ty will decide about it.

z So do you feel that
this uncertainty and
divided house will not
cause loss to the party?
Not at all. A large num-
ber of party workers
work dedicatedly and
they do not have cour-
age to ask such ques-
tion. They work for a
mission, for an ideology
.

z Do you think that
in 2023, the party
workers of different
factions will work to-
gether? Or at the last
moment Modi, Shah,
and you will sweep
the elections?
We work on the concept
of samuhikta (together-
ness) and there is no
manbhed (mental differ-
ences) among us. There
may be differences and
that should be there.
Since you are a knowl-
edgeableperson,youtell
us whose face will click
and we will convey the
feedback to the party
high command.
JC: As far as CM face
isconcerned,wehavein-
formation that the party
has decided that in com-
ing elections in MP
,
Chhatisgarh and Ra-
jasthan, the party will
contest with a local face.
The overall face of Nar-
endra Modi and strategy
of AmitShaharealready
there. At the local level,
during the 3.5 years pe-
riod the party had got
feedback and surveys
were also conducted. It
has been considered that
the party could not cre-
atealternativetofacesof
Raman Singh, Shivraj
Singh Chouhan and
Vasundhara Raje in
these states so accept the
reality and the CM face
may be declared in Octo-
ber end or November be-
ginning.Thisisinforma-
tion. As far as analysis is
concerned,Madamisfar
ahead in terms of being
crowd puller in Ra-
jasthan. There is also in-
formation that state BJP
President Satish Poonia
and Leader of Opposi-
tion Gulab Chand Ka-
taria will also change
and there will be a new
team. As you gave me
privilege to tell the CM
face, I think there are
two options. First, if the
electionistobecontested
on the lines of UP and
the face of Narendra
Bhai and strategy of
Amit Shah with a little
projection of Yogi, then
no face is required and
all faces become irrele-
vant whether it is Mad-
am, GajendraSingh,Sat-
ish Poonia or Om Birla.
But if you want to win
2024, which you have
seemingly already won,
and to avoid the minor
issues at the state level,
then you may go ahead
with your survey
. The
choice is yours whether
to want to win through
struggle from Delhi or
through the local leader-
ship. But I will say that
the amount of challenge
that the BJP faces from
internal factionalism,
the similar amount of
challenge is from Ashok
Gehlot is still there.
Arun: Yes, your anal-
ysis is correct. When
the central leadership
will sit, they will con-
sider all aspects as they
have whole feedback.
But making a guess is
very tough at present
time and the parliamen-
tary board will have the
final say
. You have very
good judgement about
Rajasthan and I con-
gratulate you for that.
JC: I also wish to give
acomplimenttoyouand
through you to Naren-
dra Bhai and Amit Bhai
that youth feedback sys-
tem is wonderful. You
never compromise with
information and facts.
You go by your survey
and adjust as per the
situation. In such situa-
tion, if you go by the CM
face in the states, it may
be a welcome decision.
Choosing the CM face is
your prerogative.

z JC: Aditi, how big a
threat Ashok Gehlot
is for the BJP?

z Aditi: In UP
, when
we went to the grass-
root, the people men-
tioned about the ben-
eficial schemes. As
Narendra Modi’s
schemes are there, in
Rajasthan the Ashok
Gehlot government
has several schemes
benefiting the people.
Two big are OPS and
Free treatment
scheme. How will you
face these schemes
and their popularity?
Arun: PM’s image is of
messiah for poor, farm-
ers and downtrodden.
The people are benefit-
ing from the Central
schemes. The biggest
challenge there is of law
and order. 16 rape cases
are happening daily in
Rajasthan. Criminalisa-
tion is also strong in Ra-
jasthan and Ashok Ge-
hlot cannot provide an-
swer for it. Sand mafia,
mining mafia, and even
corruption in transfers
isprevalent.Eventeach-
ers mentioned this in
front of the CM. His
MLAs consider them-
selves as not less than
the CM and the CM can-
not control them. There
is no governance.

z Aditi: Does Ashok
Gehlot have any
threat from Sachin
Pilot or from some
other party?
Arun: He (Gehlot) has
accepted that his gov-
ernment will not repeat.
I think he is frightened
more from Hindutva
andHindus.AfterRahul
gaveastrangedefinition
of Hindu and Hindutva
in Rajasthan, several
communalincidentsare
happening there.
JC: Ashok Gehlot has
been repeating that BJP
is instigating people and
is dividing the country
on the name of religion,
on the name of Hindu-
Muslim.Butmyanalysis
is that just like Amit
Shah, who is strategy
master in Delhi and
works hard and consid-
erseachandeveryvoteas
important, Similarly
, if
there is anyone in Con-
gress who can make any
strategy of that same
level, it is Ashok Gehlot.
He has prepared a de-
tailed strategy
. The level
of threat that you face
from internal faction,
which may be solved by
October-November; an
almost same level of
threat is posed by Ashok
Gehlot.Itisalsotruethat
Ashok Gehlot has less of
a threat from BJP and
morefromhisownMLAs
due to his political com-
pulsionandtherearesev-
eral complaints against
the MLAs in the field.
Ashok Gehlot is worried
about this and he faces
samethreatfromthisfact
as much as from the BJP

ohamRockstarEnter-
tainment launched
the song, “She’s On
Fire” from their up-
coming action spy
thriller, Dhaakad in
Jaipur’s Raj Mandir
theatre on Thursday
.
Amidst a lot of cheering, the
leading lady
, Kangana Ranaut
made an entry and sent the
crowd into a tizzy. A resound-
ing rapturous round of ap-
plause welcomed Kangana
Ranaut and Arjun Rampal. It
was no ordinary launch. The
makers set the scene by erect-
ing a 25-feet cut out of Kan-
gana and Arjun, which was
unveiled at the event.
Along with producer
Deepak Mukut and di-
rectorRazneeshGhai,
the special guest who
unveiled the poster
was none other than
veteranfilmdistrib-
utor Raj Bansal.
Thegrandeventatoneof themost
popular single-screen theatres in
the city saw 25 bikes being de-
ployed to announce the arrival of
the film’s star cast. Keeping the
theme of high-octane action in
mind, the event was designed to
highlight the film’s much-talked-
about action choreography which
has won high praise after the
film’s trailer launch recently
.
Talking about the song Kan-
gana Ranaut said, “It’s a song
which has some great beats and
highlights what Agent Agni is all
about. The fire within her to de-
struct her enemies is very strong
and the song captures her never-
say-die attitude and undying
spirit beautifully
. Kangana won
the hearts of many as usual with
her quirkiness and
her never to fear
attitude.”
Arjun Ram-
pal added,
“This is the
most stylish
and stylised song I have shot.
Kangana rocks different avatars.
It was a pleasure reuniting with
Remo, who had choreographed
the first song of his career with
me. The sets are insane, cos-
tumes are killer. This song’s on
fire. “She’s On Fire”, is a must
on everyone’s playlist.”
FICCI FLO Jaipur Chair-
person Mudrika Dhoka in-
teracted with the star cast on
the occasion. While address-
ing the crowd, Rampal said,
Kangana is surely the fire
and I am the extinguisher,
while the man behind the
film, Razneesh said,
Dhaakad film has seen
Kangana's 14 minutes ac-
tion sequence which is so
powerful and graceful.
Badshah brings an infec-
tious groove to “She’s on
fire.” He’s got “Da Beat,”
the mad lyrics and it’s go-
ing to rock the nation.
And, I have tried to bring
a visual aesthetic that’s
new to our audience. The
video itself is moodily fu-
turistic and wildly imagi-
native. Arjun Rampal
brings a slick ruthless
force to the video.”
Deepak Mukut said,
“It’s a peppy and upbeat
song which will appeal
to the younger genera-
tion. Badshah has com-
posed a number which
reflect the battle be-
tween Kangana and Ar-
jun’s characters in the
film. What’s also impor-
tant for us as a pro-
duction house is
that, with this
film, we are also
launching our
music label,
SRE Music. I
hope the song
is loved by
everyone.”

lthough most
people don't
regard narcis-
sism or psy-
chopathy to be
desirable at-
tributes in friends,
many of us are drawn
to individuals who
have these personality
traits.
What is it about
men with antisocial
personality disorders
with the lack of fear
and dominance that
draws women to them?
According to new
research, those with
dark personality
qualities are physi-
cally more beautiful
than others.
There can be vari-
ous factors that cause
women to get attracted
to men with darker
personality traits.
This article, however,
talks only about three.
1.	Biological need to
find a stronger
mate,
2. Attraction to people
with similar per-
sonality traits,
3. D e ve l o p m e n t a l
trauma caused by
childhood neglect.
Psychologists from
the University of Liv-
erpool, in collabora-
tion with their col-
leagues in Poland and
Finland, recently con-
ducted a study where-
in they found that it is
not the love of danger
that attracts women
to Wuthering
Heights Heathcliff-
like characters, as
previously believed.
Instead, it is a primi-
tive desire to find a
mate who appears
mentally strong, con-
fident and physically
attractive to have
healthier children.
According to the
journal 'Evolution and
Human Behaviour'
these men display
sharper features and
portray the character-
istics of a Dark Tri-
ad personality, i.e.,
Machiavellianism,
narcissism and psy-
chopathy
.
A total of 2,370 adult
female volunteers
were shown two sets
of computer-simulat-
ed men's faces, one of
which had more or
less Dark Triad traits
than the other. Women
were asked which of
the two drew them the
most. The results
showed that most
women were attracted
to men with features
associated with the
Dark Triad person-
ality
. These women, in
turn, have a higher
chance of reproduc-
ing, further confirm-
ing the biological as-
pect of the attractive-
ness of men with
darker personality
traits, according to
'The Daily Telegraph'.
Another study on
the topic 'The Dark
Triad personality: At-
tractiveness to women'
was conducted in 2013
by renowned psychol-
ogists Gregory Louis
Carter, Anne C. Camp-
bell, and Steven Munc-
er at the University of
Durham and Univer-
sity of Teesside, Unit-
ed Kingdom. The
study aimed to explore
the attractiveness of
the DT (Dark Triad)
personality to the oth-
er sex 128 women rat-
ed created (male) char-
acters designed to cap-
ture high DT facets of
personality or a con-
trolling personality.
The results suggested
that women rated the
high DT character as
significantly more at-
tractive.
Exploring other ar-
eas of this topic, a
study conducted by
Vlad Burtaverde at
the University of Bu-
charest, Romania,
suggested that Wom-
en high on the Dark
Triad traits are more
attracted to narcis-
sistic males if they
are oriented to long
term mating and had
fewer experiences
with unfaithful men.
During the study,
they investigated if
women high on the
Dark Triad Traits are
attracted to males
with high levels of
narcissism and test-
ed the moderation ef-
fect of women's mat-
ing orientation and
experience with un-
faithful men.
Women’s Attraction to Men with
DEVANSHI MUDGAL
cityfirst@firstindia.co.in
A
Through the study,
it was shown that:
1.	Women who
ranked high on the
'Dark Triad' quali-
ties were drawn to
men who scored
high on narcis-
sism.
2.	Women who were
oriented to long-
term mating and
had high degrees
of Machiavellian-
ism, narcissism,
or psychopathy
were more attract-
ed to narcissistic
males.
3.	Women with high
degrees of psy-
chopathy and his-
tory of unfaithful
men were less at-
tracted to men
with high levels of
narcissism.
As a result, the study
endorses the hypoth-
esis of positive as-
sortative mating for
women with high
Dark Triad features,
but only if they had
had prior infidelity
experience display-
ing that these women
are attracted to simi-
larities between
themselves and their
mate.
Digging further, a
study was conducted
by professors Xuji
Jia, Quingjin Wang,
and Lin Lin at the
Tianjin Normal Uni-
versity, China in the
year 2020, on the top-
ic 'The Relationship
Between Childhood
Neglect and Malevo-
lent Creativity: The
Mediating Effect of
the Dark Triad Per-
sonality.
It aimed to explore
the the environmen-
tal and individual
predictors of malev-
olent creativity, i.e.,
the association be-
tween childhood ne-
glect, Dark Triad
personality traits,
and malicious crea-
tivity, as well as the
function of the per-
sonality traits as a
mediating factor.
The study discov-
ered, those who have
a significant amount
of DT personality
characteristics, also
have a significant
amount of malevo-
lent inventiveness.
While this study
holds no significant
value in this particu-
lar article when it
stands alone, it does
explain the attrac-
tion correlation be-
tween childhood
trauma, neglect and
attraction to men
with 'Dark Triad'
personalities.
If we connect the
studies conducted at
the University of Bu-
charest and Tianjin
Normal University, it
is safe to say that
childhood trauma
can also be related to
attractiveness to
men with darker per-
sonality traits such
as narcissism, psy-
chopathy, etc.

EXTREME STEP Childless contractor kidnaps labourer’s son Noida (PTI): A con- struction contractor in Greater Noida was ar- rested on Thursday for allegedly kidnapping a one-and-a-half-year-old son of a daily-wage la- bourer working for him. The child was res- cued safely within three hours from his possession, police said. The 39-year-old con- tractor and his wife were married for over eight years but were unable to have a child of their own because of which he took this step, they said. CM YOGI IN HARIDWAR VOWS TO PROTECT RIVER ‘We freed Ganga from sewage of Sisamau, Jajmau drains’ First India Bureau Haridwar/Lucknow: Stressing the need to maintain cleanliness of river Ganga, Chief Minister Yogi Adity- anath on Thursday said that Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand to- gether are working to safeguard the religious sentiments of millions. While addressing the Sparsh Ganga Cam- paign in Haridwar in presence of his Uttara- khand counterpart Pushkar Singh Dhami, Yogi Adityanath said, “River Ganga has an extreme social, eco- nomic and spiritual significance. Even as the ambitious Namami Gange project has so far given some encour- aging results as far as cleanliness of Ganga is concerned, greater awareness and public participation is a must to realise the goal.” Emphasising that Uttar Pradesh has a major role towards en- suring the cleanliness of river Ganga, the CM said, “During its 2550- km journey across In- dia, the Ganga covers the maximum distance – 1155 km – in Uttar Pradesh. River Ganga has not only made our land fertile and living easier, but is also the most important factor behind the state having immense resources.” The CM said it was a matterof greatconcern and disappointment to see the river in such a bad shape in Kanpur. “This has hurt both the faith and the economy of the state. So, the real challenge was to clean it up in Kanpur where a huge amount of indus- trial waste was drain- ing into it,” he said, adding that “due to the dedicated efforts today , the sewage of drains like Sisamau and Jaj- mau no longer empties into Ganga.” CM Yogi said that the fertile Gangetic plains feed the entire nation. “The state gov- ernment is taking eve- ry possible step to en- sure the cleanliness of the Ganga. Public par- ticipation is also essen- tial in this resolve. We have to prevent dirty drains from falling into the Ganga through the cities and villages. If we work with commit- ment by setting goals, then Ganga will be- come an example in the country and the world,” he said. He also urged the people to give up the mentality to harm the river and give up the practices of disposing of dead bodies, dead animals, waste and plastic in the Ganga. “It is our moral respon- sibility and resolve to keep all the tributaries that connect with the Ganges clean,” he said. Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, MP from Kaiserganj Lok Sabha constituency and one of the leaders of the Ram Mandir movement, in a tweet said, Will not allow Raj Thackeray, who humil- iates north Indians, enter the Ayodhya bor- der . Before coming to Ayodhya, Raj Thack- eray should apologise to all North Indians with folded hands, he said. In a series of tweets, the MP also requested Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adity- anath not to meet Thackeray till he apolozie to the North Indians. ‘‘From the move- ment for Ram temple to its construction only Rashtriya Sway- amsevak Sangh, Vish- wa Hindu Parishad, and the common man have had a role. TOP TWEETS IN CONG V CONG IT IS THE PARTY WHICH ENDS UP WITH LOSS OF FACE t can happen only in the Congress. Two senior members of the party engaged in a face-off in a high court is unlikely to happen in any other party . It was a strange sight to see senior Congress leader PC Chidambaram appear- ing in the Calcutta High Court to defend the Trinamool Congress government in a case relating to the sale of Metro Dairy shares to an agro-processing company . The case seeking probe into the sale was filed by none other than the West Bengal PCC presi- dent Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury . Apparently, Chidambaram did not feel embarrassed at his court appearance in defence of the TMC government putting Chowdhury in an awkward situ- ation. He also seemed uncon- cerned about the embarrass- ment he may have caused to the party high command, unless he had their blessing. Even as a law- yer his action is inexplicable. The Congress v Congress is yet anotherexampleof thepartylead- ership’slackof holdonitsleaders who do whatever they want. I hese days all eyes are on the Su- preme Court of the United States where conserva- tive judges, who are in major- ity , are set to declare abortion unconstitutional. A rare leakedreportfromtheAmeri- can Supreme Court said that it was preparing to overturn the Roe v Wade verdict which allowed abortions. The deci- sion allowed abortions be- tween24and28weeksof preg- nancy . Judge Alito’s draft opinion reportedly said, “The Constitutiondoesnotprohibit citizens of each state from regulating or prohibiting abortion.”Alito’sopinionwas backed by four other judges all of whom are appointees of the Republican government. The Supreme Court’s judg- ment is expected in July but women are already raising their voice against the possi- ble SC verdict. Even before the Roe v Wade judgment is reversed, several states have gone ahead and banned abortions. While Mis- sissipi,aRepublican-governed state, is planning to ban abor- tions, Oklahoma and Florida havebannedabortionsevenat 15weeksof gestation.Instates like Texas, the onus for an abortionwillbeonanyoneaid- ingorabettingabortion. Some of thestateshaveevenbanned abortion pills. All this sounds strange when one looks at Catholic Ireland which legal- ized abortions in 2018. The leaked opinion, which has been confirmed as “au- thentic” has led to angry pro- tests by American women against the overturning of the Roe law. “I am mad as hell and ready to fight,” Senator Elizabeth Warren said. It has also brought Republicans and Democrats face to face as the country prepares for mid- term elections. If the draft ruling stays, Democrats hope to win the polls. US ABORTION LAW TAKES CENTRE STAGE A rare leaked report from the American Supreme Court said that it was preparing to overturn the Roe v Wade verdict which allowed abortions. The decision allowed abortions between 24 and 28 weeks of pregnancy T he world is no more round we are surviving in a flat world now. The economy is flat world economy. Flat world economy is characterized by new-age creativity, new-age connectivity, workflow soft- ware, outsourcing, insourc- ing, off shoring, supply chain management, search en- gines, uploading and digital steroids. All these flatteners have intermingled now which were earlier working independently and outcome is that economic power is shifting from west European countries to BRICS, there is death of distance and disci- plines. Economic models, sustainable development models are under search and review. When we discuss about the next normal, it means we have done something wrong in the past. In a flat world sce- nario shocks are inevitable viz. Pandemic or war or pet- rol prices or supply chains disruptions geo- economic or geo- political issues. Econo- mies have to evolve or devise certain resilient strategies to survive among these shocks. Presently we have adopted stake holder’s capitalism model while to reach to next normal or to devise a strategy for sustainable future by opt- ing new model. Cost of transi- tion from existing model to new model is very high. THE ESG STRATEGY The economy has to be shift- ed from stake holder’s capi- talism model to environment, social and governance model (ESG model) for sustainable future. We have to shift from profit model (greed is good model) to people, planet and profit harmony model so that coexistence may be inculcat- ed. Carbon reporting, green investment, waste water management, forestation, initiatives to optimum water uses, ownership of contami- nated land and moving to crops which are less water intensive. Social awareness consist of social benefits of investments, socially respon- sible investments. caring for local community, gender sen- sitivity, data security, cus- tomer satisfaction, anti-sexu- al harassment laws, work place conflicts redressal, hu- man rights at home and abroad, fare labor practices, employer of choice , use of electrical vehicles, LGBTQIA rights etc. While governance requires strict regulatory controls. Good governance, optimum performance, social security , top line growth, resilient pol- icies, transparent accounting system, government inter- ventions, avoiding conflict of interest in choices and wom- en as one of the Director in company board are few provi- sions for governance. FIVE PILLARS OF SUCCESS Sustainable future strategy shall look into how much en- vironmentally responsible companies have behaved? How much corporate sector gives back to the society? Corporate have to behave and function with utmost ethics, transparency and sufficient disclosures. A holistic decen- tralization strategy has to be devised. Companies need to devise ESG based performance indi- cators and firms like Ama- zon, IBM , GE , IBP have al- ready taken steps in the di- rection . These companies have also devised environ- mentally intelligence suite for risk management and energy efficiency . z Green recovery economy z Reduced internet traffic z Avoidance of protectionism z Future proofing/assuring of MSMEs z Education to support lifelong learning Investors in times to come will look forward ESG in- vesting which includes sus- tainable investment, socially responsible investment im- pact centric investment and investors look at various other board range of behav- ior . Cost of transition to ESG model is very high and this cost need to be reduced and controlled. .Shift of model may create green inflation initially but it is inevitable. DRIVERS OF CHANGE z Physical drivers z Digital drivers z Biological drivers Physical drivers of change includes autonomous vehi- cles, driverless cars and trucks, censors responding to environmental low cost availability of drones com- bined with availability of agricultural data will bring sufficient use of water and fertilizer. 3D printing, hu- man cells and organ trans- plantation, 4D printing will be capable of responding en- vironmental changes like heat and humidity. Advance robotics is not far in areas like agriculture to medical. Co-operative robots (CO- BOTS) will come for team work. New material are emergingwhichare200times stronger than steel called ‘GRAPHENE’. Digital drives like Internet of things, RFID, digital clothing has emerged. Face book does not own any content of itself. Biological Drivers like genetics, editing of inactive genes, GM plants etc will make transforma- tional shifts in the society . EPILOGUE New strategy will have great impact on the economy, GNP, investment, employment, competitiveness, planning, productivity, carbon emis- sion, green investment etc.,. Jobs like secretary, referee, umpire, coffee shop, courier, messenger would find them- selves difficult to sustain in the near future. While jobs like Surgeon, Doctor, Teach- er, choreographer, musician, analysts, bio-statistician would be able sustain with some updated versions of the same. THE VIEWS EXPRESSED BY THE AUTHOR ARE PERSONAL THE NEXT NORMAL: STRATEGY FOR THE SUSTAINABLE FUTURE T PROFESSOR ND MATHUR The writer is a Dean of School of Humanities and Social Sciences JECRC University, Jaipur Environment (E) has direct implication on cost, Social (S) has direct implication on firm where you get your talent from and Governance (G) is given which includes government policy, interventions and performance based governance. Strategy for environment and society is corporation centric while government is state- centric. Business models and processes has to go under a rapid change transformation for the sustainable future Green recovery, supply shortages, pandemic, Russia- Ukraine war, petrol price, wholesale price index are shocks to economy but in the next normal economy requires to be much sound. It bears such shocks which require resilient strategy for sustainable future. Economy cannot be transfixed in present normal but it must be made stronger to bear any kind of shocks whether it is war centric or sanction centric or supply disruption-centric or recovery centric or inflation centric

A hailstorm and rain- fall lashed parts of Delhi on Wednesday bringing much-neededrelief from the unrelenting heat. The heatwave is likely to return after May 7 as per the predictions of a sen- ior scientist at India Me- teorologicalDepartment (IMD), RK Jenamani. The heatwave began in late March in north- ern India and spread into the first weeks of April. Although heat- waves are not uncom- mon in this region dur- ing the pre-monsoon season from April to June, residents and me- teorologists have noted that this heatwave was the earliest they could remember. The average temperature in India in March 2022 was about 33 degrees Celsius, the warmest March ever re- corded since records be- gan in 1902. In major cit- ies such as Delhi, tem- peratures went up to over 45 degrees Celsius. These temperatures are 10 degrees Celsius warmerthanthenormal high temperatures for April and approached the all-time record tem- peratures for the month. He said it was a spec- ulation that this tunnel was used by the terror- ists to infiltrate into In- dia for carrying out the attack in Sunjwan ahead of Prime Minis- ter Narendra Modi’s visit to Jammu in April. “An attempt is being made to link this tunnel to the Sunjwan attack, but that is just a specula- tion, and there is no evi- dence yet,” he said. Contending that the countryhasan“extreme- ly robust” system of births and deaths regis- tration, the Union health ministry , in its rebuttal, called the WHO’s system of data collection “statis- tically unsound and sci- entificallyquestionable”. In a report released on Thursday, WHO said between January 2020 and December 2021, there were 4.7 million Covid deaths in India — 10 times the official fig- ures and almost a third of Covid deaths global- ly . The global figure, ac- cording to the report, was 15 million — more than double the official figure of 6 million. India has recorded roughly 520,000 fatali- ties due to Covid in the same period. “India has consistent- ly questioned WHO’s own admission that data in respect of seventeen Indian states was ob- tained from some web- sites and media reports and was used in their mathematical model,” the Ministry of Health andFamilyWelfaresaid. “This reflects a statis- tically unsound and sci- entifically questionable methodology of data collection for making excess mortality projec- tions in case of India,” the statement added. “Despite India’s ob- jection to the process, methodology and out- come of this modelling exercise, WHO has re- leased the excess mor- tality estimates without adequately addressing India’s concerns,” the ministry said. He met them and later joined the rest of the family to watch the hair tonsure ceremony of his nephew. —PTI NO ACCUSED CAN BE SUMMONED ORALLY TO POLICE STATION: ALLAHABAD HC The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has directed the Uttar Pradesh government that no person, including an accused, can be summoned to a police station orally by subordinate police officials without the consent/ approval of the station in-charge. The bench comprising Justice Arvind Kumar Mishra and Justice Manish Mathur on Wednesday directed that in case a complaint is made at any police station that necessitates an investigation and the presence of the accused, a suitable course of action as prescribed under provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code is to be followed, which contemplates serving a written notice upon such a person, but only after a case has been registered. The bench emphasised that a person’s life, liberty, and dignity cannot be jeopardised based solely on the verbal orders of police officers. In this case, a letter petition was filed before the High Court in which a girl (Sarojini) claimed that her parents (Ram Vilas and Savitri) were summoned to the Mahila Thana Police Station in Lucknow and did not return. The petition was treated as Habeas Corpus and was heard on April 8 when the government counsel informed the Court that no such occurrence had taken place at the police station. On April 13, petitioners Savitri and Ram Vilas and their daughter appeared before the Court and said that some police personnel summoned them to the police station, and when they arrived, they were detained and threatened by police personnel. On the same day, the Inspector of the concerned police station informed the Court that the petitioners had visited the police station on April 8 around 12 noon in connection with a dispute over the partition of ancestral property, and after recording their statements, they were allowed to leave the police station around 3.30 p.m. on the same day. In light of the facts of the case, the Court emphasised that there is no provision in either the Indian Constitution or the CrPC that requires a police official to summon and detain a person even without the filing of an FIR, and that too orally.—First India Bureau SUMMER SIGHTSEEING Tourists cover their heads with the help of umbrellas to protect themselves from the sun on a hot summer day, at the Taj Mahal in Agra on Thursday. —PHOTO BY ANI 6-YEAR-OLD DIES AFTER BEING HITBYBUS;DRIVERARRESTED THUNDERSTORM, LIGHTNING KILL 2 AT DIFFERENT PLACES The incident took place at Royal Convent Inter College in Chamrawal village Driving rashly, the driver of the bus hit the boy first and then ran over him Baghpat (PTI): A bus hit a six-year-old stu- dent on the premises of a private school in the district on Thursday morning, killing him on the spot, police said. Arun Singh: I was a studious youth and had no interest in joining politics in the initial stage. When I did gradu- ation from Allahabad university , I did not even know how many parties were there in the coun- tryasIhasnointerestin politics. Then I came to Delhi to pursue CA and travelled across the country for audit etc. In 1995-96, I entered poli- tics and before that I had been active in RSS. In BJP , I started directly in the Bharatiya Janta Yuva Morcha when ShivrajChouhanwasits president, and I became national treasurer. Chouhan had once asked me to take over national responsibility and I agreed after think- ing over the proposal. I remained MP in-charge of the BJYM. z Did you never con- test assembly or par- liamentary polls? In 2014, I was completely preparedtocontestfrom Mathura but I was co-in- charge of Odisha and the party wanted me to focus there. I did not think twice and went to Odisha and have been managing elections in other states also. I have got representation in the Rajya Sabha twice. z Despite being on re- sponsible position, you keep smiling. Do you never face stress? Never. There is so much work, but there is no stress. Whenever there is a responsibility or stress, I write it down in the diary . Sometimes it is tough to sleep during night but I jot down tasks at hand in the di- ary and sleep peacefully . After ticket was denied to me in 2014 from Ma- thura,IonceaskedAmit Shah, when he was about to become nation- al president, that I worked so hard but why was I not given chance to contest poll. Shah then told me not to wor- ry and that he would re- turn my hard work with interest. Later, he made me national general sec- retary . His decision making is fast and and he has immense clarity . z How do you rate Amit Shah as party president and deci- sive Home minister? I consider myself fortu- nate to have worked with him closely from 2015-19 as general secre- tary headquarter. He is very hard working and pays several visits even to the district level of- fice bearers. As the par- ty president, he has vis- ited every state and stayed the night there twice or thrice. Under his leadership, the BJP became the largest par- ty of the World. z Is the pace same during JP Nadda’s tenure? The pace is good. Nadda ji is carrying forward the legacy and also do- ing innovations. During Covid,Seva-Hi-Sangath- an work under guidance of PM Modi by Nadda ji brought wonderous (] results in service of hu- mans and even animals. z When did you meet Amit Shah and Nar- endra Modi for the first time? ImetShahin2013forthe first time. I met Modi ji waybackin2002-03when he was national general secretary(organisation). Before becoming CM, he once addressed a meet- ing of BJYM and I have notes of what he said that time. His vision was great that time also. z JP Nadda is fre- quently visiting Ra- jasthan. Is Rajasthan seeming a big chal- lenge to the BJP? For us, every state is a challenge. There is no major challenge in Ra- jasthan, but we have to raise several issues aris- ing out of anger in the minds of the public due to unfulfilled promises. z Are you going to form the government in Rajasthan? 101%, there is no doubt in it. We will form the government with three- fourth majority and there is no doubt in that. z What is reason be- hind this confidence? There is problem of eve- rythinginRajasthanbeit water, electricity ,lawand order, and even corrup- tion. Gehlot government is engaged in saving the chair. The government, which is surrounded by crisis, has put the public in crisis, therefore, the ouster of such govern- ment is sure. z But how will your party win Rajasthan with a divided house? I look at it from another perspective. Congress party is a leaderless party. Rahul Gandhi cannot give direction, guidance, and inspira- tion to any state unit as he is himself confused on every issue. z But this election is in Rajasthan and not of Rahul Gandhi? Now, consider Sachin Pilot and Ashok Gehlot are fighting then who will handle them. There has to be guidance or in- spiration or discipline of a national leader over the state leadership. z Why is there so much ambiguity about leadership? Why can- not parties give clarity about the leadership so that workers are not confused? I have repeated it hun- dred times that our par- liamentary board will take right decision at the right time and it has happened in other states also. In 2017, no CM faces were declared in UP and Uttarakhand and those whose photos were carried on ban- ners, none of them were made the CM. However, during this election the CM face was declared. The highest decision making body of the par- ty will decide about it. z So do you feel that this uncertainty and divided house will not cause loss to the party? Not at all. A large num- ber of party workers work dedicatedly and they do not have cour- age to ask such ques- tion. They work for a mission, for an ideology . z Do you think that in 2023, the party workers of different factions will work to- gether? Or at the last moment Modi, Shah, and you will sweep the elections? We work on the concept of samuhikta (together- ness) and there is no manbhed (mental differ- ences) among us. There may be differences and that should be there. Since you are a knowl- edgeableperson, youtell us whose face will click and we will convey the feedback to the party high command. JC: As far as CM face isconcerned,wehavein- formation that the party has decided that in com- ing elections in MP , Chhatisgarh and Ra- jasthan, the party will contest with a local face. The overall face of Nar- endra Modi and strategy of AmitShaharealready there. At the local level, during the 3.5 years pe- riod the party had got feedback and surveys were also conducted. It has been considered that the party could not cre- atealternativetofacesof Raman Singh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Vasundhara Raje in these states so accept the reality and the CM face may be declared in Octo- ber end or November be- ginning.Thisisinforma- tion. As far as analysis is concerned,Madamisfar ahead in terms of being crowd puller in Ra- jasthan. There is also in- formation that state BJP President Satish Poonia and Leader of Opposi- tion Gulab Chand Ka- taria will also change and there will be a new team. As you gave me privilege to tell the CM face, I think there are two options. First, if the electionistobecontested on the lines of UP and the face of Narendra Bhai and strategy of Amit Shah with a little projection of Yogi, then no face is required and all faces become irrele- vant whether it is Mad- am, GajendraSingh,Sat- ish Poonia or Om Birla. But if you want to win 2024, which you have seemingly already won, and to avoid the minor issues at the state level, then you may go ahead with your survey . The choice is yours whether to want to win through struggle from Delhi or through the local leader- ship. But I will say that the amount of challenge that the BJP faces from internal factionalism, the similar amount of challenge is from Ashok Gehlot is still there. Arun: Yes, your anal- ysis is correct. When the central leadership will sit, they will con- sider all aspects as they have whole feedback. But making a guess is very tough at present time and the parliamen- tary board will have the final say . You have very good judgement about Rajasthan and I con- gratulate you for that. JC: I also wish to give acomplimenttoyouand through you to Naren- dra Bhai and Amit Bhai that youth feedback sys- tem is wonderful. You never compromise with information and facts. You go by your survey and adjust as per the situation. In such situa- tion, if you go by the CM face in the states, it may be a welcome decision. Choosing the CM face is your prerogative. z JC: Aditi, how big a threat Ashok Gehlot is for the BJP? z Aditi: In UP , when we went to the grass- root, the people men- tioned about the ben- eficial schemes. As Narendra Modi’s schemes are there, in Rajasthan the Ashok Gehlot government has several schemes benefiting the people. Two big are OPS and Free treatment scheme. How will you face these schemes and their popularity? Arun: PM’s image is of messiah for poor, farm- ers and downtrodden. The people are benefit- ing from the Central schemes. The biggest challenge there is of law and order. 16 rape cases are happening daily in Rajasthan. Criminalisa- tion is also strong in Ra- jasthan and Ashok Ge- hlot cannot provide an- swer for it. Sand mafia, mining mafia, and even corruption in transfers isprevalent.Eventeach- ers mentioned this in front of the CM. His MLAs consider them- selves as not less than the CM and the CM can- not control them. There is no governance. z Aditi: Does Ashok Gehlot have any threat from Sachin Pilot or from some other party? Arun: He (Gehlot) has accepted that his gov- ernment will not repeat. I think he is frightened more from Hindutva andHindus.AfterRahul gaveastrangedefinition of Hindu and Hindutva in Rajasthan, several communalincidentsare happening there. JC: Ashok Gehlot has been repeating that BJP is instigating people and is dividing the country on the name of religion, on the name of Hindu- Muslim.Butmyanalysis is that just like Amit Shah, who is strategy master in Delhi and works hard and consid- erseachandeveryvoteas important, Similarly , if there is anyone in Con- gress who can make any strategy of that same level, it is Ashok Gehlot. He has prepared a de- tailed strategy . The level of threat that you face from internal faction, which may be solved by October-November; an almost same level of threat is posed by Ashok Gehlot.Itisalsotruethat Ashok Gehlot has less of a threat from BJP and morefromhisownMLAs due to his political com- pulsionandtherearesev- eral complaints against the MLAs in the field. It was no ordinary launch. The makers set the scene by erect- ing a 25-feet cut out of Kan- gana and Arjun, which was unveiled at the event. Keeping the theme of high-octane action in mind, the event was designed to highlight the film’s much-talked- about action choreography which has won high praise after the film’s trailer launch recently . Talking about the song Kan- gana Ranaut said, “It’s a song which has some great beats and highlights what Agent Agni is all about. The fire within her to de- struct her enemies is very strong and the song captures her never- say-die attitude and undying spirit beautifully . Kangana won the hearts of many as usual with her quirkiness and her never to fear attitude.” Arjun Ram- pal added, “This is the most stylish and stylised song I have shot. Kangana rocks different avatars. It was a pleasure reuniting with Remo, who had choreographed the first song of his career with me. The sets are insane, cos- tumes are killer. This song’s on fire. “She’s On Fire”, is a must on everyone’s playlist.” FICCI FLO Jaipur Chair- person Mudrika Dhoka in- teracted with the star cast on the occasion. While address- ing the crowd, Rampal said, Kangana is surely the fire and I am the extinguisher, while the man behind the film, Razneesh said, Dhaakad film has seen Kangana's 14 minutes ac- tion sequence which is so powerful and graceful. Badshah brings an infec- tious groove to “She’s on fire.” He’s got “Da Beat,” the mad lyrics and it’s go- ing to rock the nation. And, I have tried to bring a visual aesthetic that’s new to our audience. The video itself is moodily fu- turistic and wildly imagi- native. Arjun Rampal brings a slick ruthless force to the video.” Deepak Mukut said, “It’s a peppy and upbeat song which will appeal to the younger genera- tion. Badshah has com- posed a number which reflect the battle be- tween Kangana and Ar- jun’s characters in the film. What’s also impor- tant for us as a pro- duction house is that, with this film, we are also launching our music label, SRE Music. What is it about men with antisocial personality disorders with the lack of fear and dominance that draws women to them? According to new research, those with dark personality qualities are physi- cally more beautiful than others. There can be vari- ous factors that cause women to get attracted to men with darker personality traits. This article, however, talks only about three. 1. Biological need to find a stronger mate, 2. Attraction to people with similar per- sonality traits, 3. D e ve l o p m e n t a l trauma caused by childhood neglect. Psychologists from the University of Liv- erpool, in collabora- tion with their col- leagues in Poland and Finland, recently con- ducted a study where- in they found that it is not the love of danger that attracts women to Wuthering Heights Heathcliff- like characters, as previously believed. Instead, it is a primi- tive desire to find a mate who appears mentally strong, con- fident and physically attractive to have healthier children. According to the journal 'Evolution and Human Behaviour' these men display sharper features and portray the character- istics of a Dark Tri- ad personality, i.e., Machiavellianism, narcissism and psy- chopathy . A total of 2,370 adult female volunteers were shown two sets of computer-simulat- ed men's faces, one of which had more or less Dark Triad traits than the other. Women were asked which of the two drew them the most. The results showed that most women were attracted to men with features associated with the Dark Triad person- ality . These women, in turn, have a higher chance of reproduc- ing, further confirm- ing the biological as- pect of the attractive- ness of men with darker personality traits, according to 'The Daily Telegraph'. Another study on the topic 'The Dark Triad personality: At- tractiveness to women' was conducted in 2013 by renowned psychol- ogists Gregory Louis Carter, Anne C. Camp- bell, and Steven Munc- er at the University of Durham and Univer- sity of Teesside, Unit- ed Kingdom. The study aimed to explore the attractiveness of the DT (Dark Triad) personality to the oth- er sex 128 women rat- ed created (male) char- acters designed to cap- ture high DT facets of personality or a con- trolling personality. The results suggested that women rated the high DT character as significantly more at- tractive. Exploring other ar- eas of this topic, a study conducted by Vlad Burtaverde at the University of Bu- charest, Romania, suggested that Wom- en high on the Dark Triad traits are more attracted to narcis- sistic males if they are oriented to long term mating and had fewer experiences with unfaithful men. During the study, they investigated if women high on the Dark Triad Traits are attracted to males with high levels of narcissism and test- ed the moderation ef- fect of women's mat- ing orientation and experience with un- faithful men. Women’s Attraction to Men with DEVANSHI MUDGAL cityfirst@firstindia.co.in A Through the study, it was shown that: 1. Women who ranked high on the 'Dark Triad' quali- ties were drawn to men who scored high on narcis- sism. 2. Women who were oriented to long- term mating and had high degrees of Machiavellian- ism, narcissism, or psychopathy were more attract- ed to narcissistic males. 3. Women with high degrees of psy- chopathy and his- tory of unfaithful men were less at- tracted to men with high levels of narcissism. As a result, the study endorses the hypoth- esis of positive as- sortative mating for women with high Dark Triad features, but only if they had had prior infidelity experience display- ing that these women are attracted to simi- larities between themselves and their mate. Digging further, a study was conducted by professors Xuji Jia, Quingjin Wang, and Lin Lin at the Tianjin Normal Uni- versity, China in the year 2020, on the top- ic 'The Relationship Between Childhood Neglect and Malevo- lent Creativity: The Mediating Effect of the Dark Triad Per- sonality. It aimed to explore the the environmen- tal and individual predictors of malev- olent creativity, i.e., the association be- tween childhood ne- glect, Dark Triad personality traits, and malicious crea- tivity, as well as the function of the per- sonality traits as a mediating factor. The study discov- ered, those who have a significant amount of DT personality characteristics, also have a significant amount of malevo- lent inventiveness. While this study holds no significant value in this particu- lar article when it stands alone, it does explain the attrac- tion correlation be- tween childhood trauma, neglect and attraction to men with 'Dark Triad' personalities. If we connect the studies conducted at the University of Bu- charest and Tianjin Normal University, it is safe to say that childhood trauma can also be related to attractiveness to men with darker per- sonality traits such as narcissism, psy- chopathy, etc. DarkerPersonality DarkerPersonality TRAITS TRAITS
