Former MP Sanjay
Yadav has leveled
allegations on former
Union Min Jitendra Singh
and claimed that Cong
party was confined to
Phool Bagh. “The party
has been mortgaged
here. Jitendra Singh
distributed tickets as per
his own will in Alwar
district,” he said. Many
questions were raised
regarding Sanjay Yadav
getting ticket in Behror as
Sanjay Yadav is a special
worker of former union
Minister Jitendra Singh.
It seems that BJP
may bring a massive
change in its candidature
on certain seats. Word in
saffron party is that
Manish Yadav may be
fielded from Shahpura,
Shikha Meel Barala from
Chomu and Prashant
Sharma can come into
fray from Amer. Further-
more, from either
Shahpura or Viratnagar,
the party can bet on Mali
candidate. Former IAS
OP Saini is a resident of
Shahpura. BJP can bet
on a leader like OP Saini.

Regarding the assembly

and BJPparties are facing
rebellion in the final stag-

Angered by the cancella-

have adopted the old for-
mula of defection and
raised the flag of rebel-
lion. Former Congress
MLA Darshan Singh and
Subhash Meel, candidate
from Khandela, have
now joined the BJPcamp.
It is believed that the
names of both of them
may be fielded in the
third list of BJP. Mean-
while, Cong’s Bari MLA
Girraj Singh Malinga
also met BJP leaders in
New Delhi on Wednes-
day. Malinga said that he
will join party only if BJP
gives ticket from Bari.
Girraj Malinga reached

join BJP only on assur-
ance of ticket. I rejected
offer of Rs 60 crore and

surance of ticket. And

Baseri MLA Khiladi

pressing the voice of the

Meanwhile, former

‘MODI HAI TO MUMKIN HAI…’ UNTOLD STORIES OF PM MODI — PART 59
MODI'SMOSAIC
OFMILESTONES!
The narrators express their views on PM Narendra Modi’s uncanny ability
that turned a nondescript place into a land of opportunities, Modi’s call for
youth of the country to make India a world leader by following the path of
Swami Vivekananda, inauguration of the Smriti Van Memorial in Bhuj,
historic tribute to freedom fighter Shyamji Krishna and lots more...
e extensively toured Kutch
during a visit with Narendra
Modi way back in 1988. We
know that Narendrabhai has this
unique quality of picking up the small-
est things that clicks him.
It was during the trip that we had
also visited the White Rann. Casually
Narendrabhai had told us that this nat-
ural beauty is a unique place in the
world. It is a wonder of nature. This
should be spread across the world. And
now we all know how true he was!
The first Rann Utsav was a 3-day af-
fair during the winters, named Shardot-
sav, which now extends into an event of
more than 100 days and is attended by
thousands of people every year. Hun-
dreds of locals have hence got employ-
ment while catering to tourism.
It is Narendrabhai’s uncanny ability
that turned a nondescript place into a
land of opportunities. Modi ji talked to
the villagers and himself suggested to
open homestays in their homes. People
from 30-40 villages in the Kutch region
bought into the idea and started earning
from homestays. When the tent city
gets filled up, several tourists take up
the bhungas (traditional huts) as ac-
commodation and soak in the local cul-
ture more closely. Poor locals earn so
much in three months of the year during
the Rann Utsav season that it suffices
for them for the rest of the year.
Today Dhordo has been adjudged
among the world’s best tourism vil-
lages by the UN. The vision of Modi ji
has worked wonders.

Congress is preparing
ideological data of vot-
ers on the lines of Rash-
triya Swayamsevak
Sangh, which gave
strength to BJP in the as-
sembly elections. Con-
gress has asked its work-
ers to collect informa-
tion about voters on the
basis of society, religion
and voting behavior up
to the booth level. The
party has asked to col-
lect this information by
November 5 and send it
to the state war room. In
its form sent to the
workers, Congress has
said that the voters of
each booth should be
grouped into families
according to their house
numbers. The party told
its workers that this data
will play a role in vic-
tory in the coming elec-
tions. In fact, Congress
is working on a strategy
to keep its voting per-
centage as high as pos-
sible by focusing com-
pletely on its hard-core
voters in the elections.
Exclusive
l Voters will be identified under war room strategy

SEPARATE INFO ON
ABSENTEE VOTERS
This scheme of Congress is like ‘Panna Pramukh’ of
BJP. Under this, Congress will prepare data consid-
ering 52,000 booths and 2,250 mandals created according
to the organizational structure of its party as units. Such
families will be specially identified in the voter list which are
of Congress ideology. The party will also focus on the votes
of such communities which are in favour of the Congress
candidate. The party will focus on taking such voters to the
booth to vote as much as possible.
Cong will make
caste census a
major election issue in
the Assembly and Lok
Sabha elections. Caste
census will be a major
issue in the Congress
campaign. Congress
leaders believe that
the upper castes have
been voting for BJP in
the last few elections,
hence the chances
of them coming back
to the Cong party are
less.
Cong has also
asked workers to
collect info about absen-
tee voters separately to
prevent fake voting. Ab-
sentee voter means the
voter who is not living in
the area, but their name
is registered in the voter
list. The information
about absentee voter
will be with Cong worker
sitting at the booth so
that they can stop the
casting of fake votes.

Congress, said, “Sardar
Patel made Kashmir an
integral part of India, but
Congress leader Jawaha-

After this, when the BJP

“Remember if Congress

“Congress is the name

recent rise in ac-
tivism in Iran
has added a new
chapter to the
country’s long-
standing history
of murals and
other public art. But as the senti-
ments being expressed in those
works have changed, the govern-
ment’s view of them has shifted,
too.
The ancient Persians, who lived
in what is now Iran, adorned their
palaces, temples and tombs with
intricate wall paintings, showcas-
ing scenes of royal court life, reli-
gious rituals and epic tales. Fol-
lowing the 1979 revolution and the
Iran-Iraq war, murals in Iran took
on a new significance and played
a crucial role in shaping the na-
tional narrative. These murals be-
came powerful visual representa-
tions of the ideals and values of the
Islamic Republic. They were used
to depict scenes of heroism, mar-
tyrdom and religious devotion,
aiming to inspire national unity
and pride among Iranians. Over
the centuries, these artworks came
to adorn many public spaces, in-
cluding the walls of mosques, uni-
versities and government build-
ings, becoming symbols of patriot-
ism and religious devotion.
After the Islamic Revolution
overthrew Shah Mohammad Reza
Pahlavi in 1979, murals began to
convey new political messages and
ideological propaganda. They cel-
ebrated the ideals of the Islamic
Revolution and showcased the
leadership of Ayatollah Khomeini
and other prominent figures of the
revolution.
Murals frequently depicted anti-
Western sentiments, condemning
foreign interference and imperial-
ism. They also highlighted the
concept of martyrdom and the im-
portance of defending the Islamic
Republic against external threats,
aiming to inspire national unity
and pride among Iranians.
In 2022, the Iranian morality
police arrested Mahsa (Jhina)
Amini for allegedly failing to wear
her hijab properly. After she died
in police custody, public protests
broke out across the country with
the slogan “Woman, Life, Free-
dom” – and led to a new round of
public art in Iran.
As a scholar of Iranian contem-
porary art, but more importantly as
someone who studies the develop-
ment of Iranian artists, I see their
renewed determination to promote
freedom as a cultural necessity in
Iran, even in the face of a govern-
ment crackdown.
STREET ART AS PROTEST
In the months following Amini’s
death, artists, activists, and, most
importantly, ordinary citizens
poured into the streets to claim the
public spaces and call for freedom.
Street art emerged as a powerful
medium through which individu-
als could address a wide array of
pressing social and political issues,
including women’s rights, freedom
of expression, political activism
and the desire for a life free from
the constraints of religious laws.
Graffiti artists, in particular,
played a vital role in expressing
dissent and resistance. Throughout
Iranian cities, evocative graffiti
murals have appeared, telling sto-
ries of struggle, liberation and the
indomitable spirit of the move-
ment through the past 45 years
since the 1979 revolution.
Watching the progression of the
Woman, Life, Freedom movement
and the distribution of art created
parallel to it, I noticed that artists
turned public spaces into platforms
for political messages, critiquing
policies, advocating social change
and promoting gender equality.
Sometimes even a dialogue
emerged on the walls between the
oppressed and the oppressor. Art-
ists depicted pictures of the killed
citizens, the activists detained, as
well as iconic images of the revo-
lution. The government erased or
painted over the graffiti, but pro-
testers came back with new im-
ages and messages.
Central to this movement is the
participation of both professional
artists and non-artist citizens, insti-
gating change and fostering con-
sciousness through powerful im-
agery created on the city walls. Or-
dinary people participate in chang-
ing the city’s visual landscape by
expressing themselves through art.
THE GOVERNMENT RESPONDS
The rise of protest art in Iran has
faced opposition from the govern-
ment, which viewed these forms of
expression as acts of defiance.
Government suppression tactics
in response to murals and expres-
sions of dissent have been alarm-
ingly severe. These tactics encom-
passed frequent physical removal
of murals that challenged the status
quo, aiming to silence the voices
of those speaking out against injus-
tice by detaining, kidnapping and
threatening the lives of their crea-
tors. In addition to this visual eras-
ure, authorities imprisoned artists
and other demonstrators for their
activism and imposed employment
restrictions as punitive measures.
Despite governmental opposi-
tion and legal challenges, artists
and activists persevered. They
have used art to voice their con-
cerns, challenge societal norms
and advocate for change.

BJP MAY FIELD MALI CANDIDATE FROM VIRATNAGAR EX-MPYADAVALLEGES EX-MINISTERSINGHFOR TICKETDISTRIBUTION Former MP Sanjay Yadav has leveled allegations on former Union Min Jitendra Singh and claimed that Cong party was confined to Phool Bagh. “The party has been mortgaged here. Jitendra Singh distributed tickets as per his own will in Alwar district,” he said. Many questions were raised regarding Sanjay Yadav getting ticket in Behror as Sanjay Yadav is a special worker of former union Minister Jitendra Singh. It seems that BJP may bring a massive change in its candidature on certain seats. Word in saffron party is that Manish Yadav may be fielded from Shahpura, Shikha Meel Barala from Chomu and Prashant Sharma can come into fray from Amer. Further- more, from either Shahpura or Viratnagar, the party can bet on Mali candidate. Former IAS OP Saini is a resident of Shahpura. BJP can bet on a leader like OP Saini. We know that Narendrabhai has this unique quality of picking up the small- est things that clicks him. It was during the trip that we had also visited the White Rann. Casually Narendrabhai had told us that this nat- ural beauty is a unique place in the world. It is a wonder of nature. This should be spread across the world. And now we all know how true he was! The first Rann Utsav was a 3-day af- fair during the winters, named Shardot- sav, which now extends into an event of more than 100 days and is attended by thousands of people every year. Hun- dreds of locals have hence got employ- ment while catering to tourism. It is Narendrabhai’s uncanny ability that turned a nondescript place into a land of opportunities. Modi ji talked to the villagers and himself suggested to open homestays in their homes. People from 30-40 villages in the Kutch region bought into the idea and started earning from homestays. When the tent city gets filled up, several tourists take up the bhungas (traditional huts) as ac- commodation and soak in the local cul- ture more closely. Poor locals earn so much in three months of the year during the Rann Utsav season that it suffices for them for the rest of the year. Through this event, Narendra Modi called upon the youth of the country to make India a world leader again by following the path of Swami Vivekananda. Swami ji had said, “I am seeing with my eyes. The party has asked to col- lect this information by November 5 and send it to the state war room. In its form sent to the workers, Congress has said that the voters of each booth should be grouped into families according to their house numbers. The party told its workers that this data will play a role in vic- tory in the coming elec- tions. In fact, Congress is working on a strategy to keep its voting per- centage as high as pos- sible by focusing com- pletely on its hard-core voters in the elections. Under this, Congress will prepare data consid- ering 52,000 booths and 2,250 mandals created according to the organizational structure of its party as units. Such families will be specially identified in the voter list which are of Congress ideology. The party will also focus on the votes of such communities which are in favour of the Congress candidate. The party will focus on taking such voters to the booth to vote as much as possible. Cong will make caste census a major election issue in the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections. Caste census will be a major issue in the Congress campaign. Congress leaders believe that the upper castes have been voting for BJP in the last few elections, hence the chances of them coming back to the Cong party are less. Cong has also asked workers to collect info about absen- tee voters separately to prevent fake voting. Ab- sentee voter means the voter who is not living in the area, but their name is registered in the voter list. The information about absentee voter will be with Cong worker sitting at the booth so that they can stop the casting of fake votes. But as the senti- ments being expressed in those works have changed, the govern- ment’s view of them has shifted, too. The ancient Persians, who lived in what is now Iran, adorned their palaces, temples and tombs with intricate wall paintings, showcas- ing scenes of royal court life, reli- gious rituals and epic tales. Fol- lowing the 1979 revolution and the Iran-Iraq war, murals in Iran took on a new significance and played a crucial role in shaping the na- tional narrative. These murals be- came powerful visual representa- tions of the ideals and values of the Islamic Republic. They were used to depict scenes of heroism, mar- tyrdom and religious devotion, aiming to inspire national unity and pride among Iranians. Over the centuries, these artworks came to adorn many public spaces, in- cluding the walls of mosques, uni- versities and government build- ings, becoming symbols of patriot- ism and religious devotion. After the Islamic Revolution overthrew Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi in 1979, murals began to convey new political messages and ideological propaganda. They cel- ebrated the ideals of the Islamic Revolution and showcased the leadership of Ayatollah Khomeini and other prominent figures of the revolution. Murals frequently depicted anti- Western sentiments, condemning foreign interference and imperial- ism. They also highlighted the concept of martyrdom and the im- portance of defending the Islamic Republic against external threats, aiming to inspire national unity and pride among Iranians. In 2022, the Iranian morality police arrested Mahsa (Jhina) Amini for allegedly failing to wear her hijab properly. After she died in police custody, public protests broke out across the country with the slogan “Woman, Life, Free- dom” – and led to a new round of public art in Iran. As a scholar of Iranian contem- porary art, but more importantly as someone who studies the develop- ment of Iranian artists, I see their renewed determination to promote freedom as a cultural necessity in Iran, even in the face of a govern- ment crackdown. STREET ART AS PROTEST In the months following Amini’s death, artists, activists, and, most importantly, ordinary citizens poured into the streets to claim the public spaces and call for freedom. Street art emerged as a powerful medium through which individu- als could address a wide array of pressing social and political issues, including women’s rights, freedom of expression, political activism and the desire for a life free from the constraints of religious laws. Graffiti artists, in particular, played a vital role in expressing dissent and resistance. Throughout Iranian cities, evocative graffiti murals have appeared, telling sto- ries of struggle, liberation and the indomitable spirit of the move- ment through the past 45 years since the 1979 revolution. Watching the progression of the Woman, Life, Freedom movement and the distribution of art created parallel to it, I noticed that artists turned public spaces into platforms for political messages, critiquing policies, advocating social change and promoting gender equality. Sometimes even a dialogue emerged on the walls between the oppressed and the oppressor. Art- ists depicted pictures of the killed citizens, the activists detained, as well as iconic images of the revo- lution. The government erased or painted over the graffiti, but pro- testers came back with new im- ages and messages. Central to this movement is the participation of both professional artists and non-artist citizens, insti- gating change and fostering con- sciousness through powerful im- agery created on the city walls. Or- dinary people participate in chang- ing the city’s visual landscape by expressing themselves through art. THE GOVERNMENT RESPONDS The rise of protest art in Iran has faced opposition from the govern- ment, which viewed these forms of expression as acts of defiance. Government suppression tactics in response to murals and expres- sions of dissent have been alarm- ingly severe. These tactics encom- passed frequent physical removal of murals that challenged the status quo, aiming to silence the voices of those speaking out against injus- tice by detaining, kidnapping and threatening the lives of their crea- tors. In addition to this visual eras- ure, authorities imprisoned artists and other demonstrators for their activism and imposed employment restrictions as punitive measures. Despite governmental opposi- tion and legal challenges, artists and activists persevered. They have used art to voice their con- cerns, challenge societal norms and advocate for change.
