Summary:
After Completing the first year of BS Civil Engineering, during
the summer break I worked as an intern at the DG cement company Ltd. In
Dera Ghazi Khan. Where I worked for four weeks from 10th
September to
10th
October 2020.
Introduction Of DG Cement Company Ltd:
 Mian Mohammad Mansha is owner of DG cement company Ltd.
 The company was started in 1986 to cater the cement
needs in Pakistan. The plant was supplied by the Ube
Industries of Japan.
 The company established their first active plant in
southern Punjab city Dera Ghazi Khan and therefore
kick-started their production. This was first step to
industrialize the Southern region of Punjab, Pakistan.
 During my internship I worked on different projects of
civil engineering.
About the Department:
I was assigned to Civil Department lead by
Head of Department Faisal Younis and Engr Chaudhari Umar. Civil
Department was established for the maintance work of DG cement Colony
and small project of Plant. For almost four weeks, I learned a lot of things
from my supervisorfor example what is purpose of BOQ and how we read it
and lot of other things. Engr Chaudhari Umar is a hard-working person and
he has lot of experience in field of civil engineering. He passed his degree
BS Civil Engineering from Sir Syed University, Karachi. All the employeesof
this department are very good and kind. They Always give me extra
knowledge of CivilEngineering in their free time.I am especiallyvery thankful
to HOD Faisal Younis sb who help me in every problem.

Task and Job:
My Supervisorassigned me two task which are given below:
1. Rehablitation of fan foundation at CM-2
2. Fasad Uplifting of Corporate office at DG cement company Ltd.
1. Rehabilitation of fan foundation at CM-2
Observation:
 Grot is cracked.
 Concrete cover is also damage.
 Steel of existing foundation is also rusting.
Process:
 The grot of footing will remove.
 Remove the raw material and clean it.
 Wash the footing with water to make a strong bond.
 Draw holes at 200mm away from each other and put ER-100 chemical
into holes this chimcal act as adhesive material and then put “L” into
holes.
 Than we put the concrete and spread it.
 Than next day we done quarring.

2. Fasad Uplifting of Corporate office
at DG cement company Ltd.
Purpose:
The purpose of project Fasad Uplifting of Corporate office at DG
cementcompanyLtd is that to enhance the beauty of Main Corporate Office.
Also to hide the AC pipes Behind Pre-cast lowers. We started this project in
second week of my internship and this project still is going onward. Project
Fasad Uplifting of Corporate office at DG Cement company Ltd is the core
project that me and Engr Chaudhari Umar is working on this project.
Conclusion
OveralI, internship is really a good program and recommendedto my fellow
friends.It helps to enhance and develop my skills, abilities and knowledge.I
would like to thank to every memberof the industry, I encountered because
of their assistance and cooperation.All the technical staff is well disciplined
and well trained. I am gratefuland thankful to my supervisorChaudhari Umar
and HOD Faisal Younis. Also, they help me to handle some of my weakness
and provided guidance to me whenever I am in need. I think the one-month
duration for the internship was not enough for me to learn more in details
about the jobs.It was my first Internship. This was a lifetime experience and
I could not forget it as like before. I had some theoretical confusion about
cement manufacturing process butnow they all are cleared by visualization
at different sites and due to demonstrations by very high
qualified/experienced engineers.I learnt how to interact with differentpeople
and to do teamwork in professional field as a group leader.
It is pleasure and honor for me to have internship at this reputable
organization (DG Khan Cement Company Limited –DGKCC, DG khan
plant)
