2. In Ecuador, children participate in forms of child labor, include commercial
sexual exploitation, and are engaged in agriculture and domestic services.
Some of them combine work and study.
The public sector education is free; however, some students cannot go to
school because they must pay for school uniforms, books, transportation,
and lunch. This is most evident among indigenous children who dropped
out early. In fact, they don't go to high school, so they work.
3. Child labor is the practice of involving children in economic activities that
are deprived of their childhood and are detrimental to their physical and
mental development. This work also denies children and adolescents their
fundamental rights, such as enjoying their childhood and adolescence
processes, attending school
4. Learning achievement is the result or level of ability obtained by students
after participating in the teaching process within a certain period of time.
5. To obtain positive learning and development,
everyone needs an appropriate environment,
so that they can develop their talents,
abilities and attitudes, and meet the
backgrounds and needs of students.
6. There are several factors that
cause teens to drop out of
school: Personal
Socioeconomic and Family problems.
7. Personal
The personal factors that influence adolescents' decision to leave school
are related to certain characteristics of adolescents: gender, age at school,
years of schooling, marital status and place of residence (rural or urban).
8. Socioeconomic and Family problems.
Regarding socioeconomic and family characteristics, research shows that
young people who drop out of school are young people with low family
incomes; they live in rural areas and have low maternity.
