CULTURE
Culture refers to the cumulative deposit of knowledge, experience, beliefs, values,
attitudes, meanings, hierarchies, religion, notions of time, roles, spatial relations,
concepts of the universe, and material objects and possessions acquired by a group of
people in the course of generations through individual and group striving.
CULTURE DIVERSITY
Cultural diversity is the quality of diverse or different cultures, as opposed to
monoculture, the global monoculture, or a homogenization of cultures, akin to
cultural evolution. The term cultural diversity can also refer to having different
cultures respect each other's differences. Moreover, it is often used to mention the
variety of human societies or cultures in a specific region, or in the world as a whole.
3. HIGH CONTEXT CULTURE
The differentiation between high and low context cultures is meant to highlight
differences in verbal and nonverbal communication. High-context cultures will use
communication that focuses on underlying context, meaning, and tone in the message,
and not just the words themselves.
LOW CONTEXT CULTURE
In low-context cultures, the opposite is true. They are usually diverse, and focus on the
individual, instead of the group. Since there are so many differences within a low-
context culture, communication must be basic enough to allow for as many people to
understand it as possible.
