The Impact of Islam on Society
It is impossible to acquire the moral and social qualities without the aid of ISLAM.
Morality in Islam addresses every aspect of a Muslim’s life, from greetings to
international relations. It is universal in its scope and in its applicability. A Muslim is
expected to not only be virtuous, but to also enjoin virtue. One must not only be morally
healthy, but must also contribute to the moral health of society as a whole.
Islam teaches that with faith on Allah in fact every problem can be solved and every
deadlock can be resolved with His help, We can overcome every disappointment and
hopeless deeds.
The Holy Qur’an says :
"Everyone is entangled in the outcome of his deeds." (al-Muddassir )
ISLAM strongly opposes every discrimination based on color, race or class, because it
regards all human beings as God's creatures and every country as God's country.
According to it, all enjoy Allah's love and kindness equally and as such, all are equal.
According to the teachings of Islam, no man can be superior to another man on the basis
of his color, race, descent, language or class.
How Islam is A Complete Code of Life?
The prime focus of Islam is to make sure that maximum of its followers rest in heavens in
the afterlife. However, in order to do so, the followers have to live this life according to
the instructions of Islam and follow the path of righteousness. Unlike other religions, the
path of righteousness is not related to religious traditions and obligations only, rather
righteousness is to be observed in every aspect of life and this is why Islam gives proper
instructions to live life.
Islam gives a complete code of life to the whole mankind.Almighty Allah explain it in
holy Quran about every aspect of life, the need is to understand the essence of being
righteous or doing right deeds in this world.
In Quran, Allah Almighty says:
“For those who believe and work deeds of righteousness is a reward that will never
(fail).” (Surah Fussilat)
The scope of social responsibility in Islam
 The individual members of society should work together
 Embraces all the needs of the society and its members
 Extends to humanity
 Mutual responsibility
Responsibility of the State
 Safeguarding Natural Resources
 Creating opportunities for employment
 Organizing individual efforts
 Utilizing the property of the wealthy when necessary
A glimpse at teachings of Islam
Weighing And Measuring In Business:
In addition to honesty in business, Islam also wants the followers to be fair especially
when it comes to weighing and measuring the goods in business. Allah Almighty says in
Quran:
“Give full measure when you measure, and weigh with an even balance. That is the best
(way) and best in result.” (Al-Isra)
Avoiding Fighting And Crimes: In
Islam, murder is one of the worst evils that a person can commit, Prophet Muhammad
(PBUH) said in this regard:
“When two Muslims fight (meet) each other with their swords, both the murderer as well
as the murdered will go to Hell-fire.” It was said: “O Allah’s Messenger! It is all right for
the murderer but what about the murdered? Allah’s Messenger replied: “He surely had the
intentions to kill his companion.” (Bukhari)
Parents’ Rights
Allah Says, "Your Lord has declared that you worship none but Him, and that you be
kind to the parents. If one or both of them attain old-age in your life, do not say to them a
word of contempt, nor repel them, but address them with words of honour. " (Al-Isra )
Rights towards children
Duties of Parents in Islam is promoting their religious orientation and ethical approach in
order to be armed with both merits.
Allah, the Almighty, says:
"O you who believe! save yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is Men
and Stones,…" (Al-Tahrim )
Killing innocent souls who cannot defend themselves is a gross sin :
"Do not kill your children for fear of poverty. We provide sustenance for you and for
them.“ (Al-An'aam)
Justice and Tolerance
• Glad Tidings on showing kindness to orphans
• Rights of Neighbours
• Rights of Slaves
• Killing anyone unjustly is forbidden
• Cheating is condemned in Islam
Marriage in Islam
• “It is He who created you from a single soul and therefrom made his mate, in order that he
may dwell with her (in comfort)." (Al-a'raf)
• "And live with them (wives) in kindness, for if you dislike them, it may be that you dislike
a thing and Allah has placed abundant good in it." (An-Nisa)
• "Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more
strength than the other and because they spend of their wealth (for the support of
women). So the righteous women are obedient and protect (the husbands interests) in his
absence, as Allah has protected them.“ (An-Nisa)
Brotherhood & Sisterhood
• "The believers are but a single Brotherhood. So (make peace and) reconcile between your
two (contending) brothers; And fear Allah that you may receive mercy.“ (Al-Hujurat)
The Five Pillars of Islam
1) Shahada: Testifying to God's One-ness:
 The declaration "There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is His prophet."
And your god is one God. There is no deity [worthy of worship] except Him, the
Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. (Al baqara)
Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. (Al
imran)
2) Salat: Prayer.
 Salah (Salat, Namaz) is a practical sign of obedience to the commands of Allah
(SWT). Its importance has been emphasized about more than 700 times in the Noble
Qur'an.
We read in the Qur’an:
“establish prayer for My remembrance.” (Ta-Ha 20:14)
According to a Hadith a companion of Holy Prophet Mohammad (p.b.u.h) came to him
one day and asked him
"What is the thing that Allah (SWT) loves most?" Holy Prophet Mohammad (p.b.u.h)
replied "The thing that Allah (SWT) loves most is when his people pray Salah on
time."
Importance of Prayer(salah):
IbnUmar (r.a.) narrates: The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) stated the following:
“The place of Prayer (salah) in religion is like the place of the head in the body.”
(Imam Tibarani)
Rasoollullah said “if a man perform ablution perfectly then offers the compulsory
congregational prayer, Allah will forgive his sins committed between that (prayer)
and the (next) prayer till he offer it” (Sahih Bukhari)
The impact of prayer on Individual and Society
The praying person always abides by the Islamic morals while dealing with others. He is
supposed to avoid insults, lies, backbiting, or saying something evil to others. Instead, he
is required to spread goodness and virtues among people. The Muslim, during his prayer,
always remembers Allah, His commands and prohibitions. In this way, crimes would be
prevented, and peace would prevaile in the society. So Islam urges Muslims to pray in
congregation and ordering the lines to spread the spirit of harmony and brotherhood, and
instill discipline and order among them.
3) Zakat: Giving charity.
 Originally a free-will donation (what is no called Sadaqah).
 Now largely compulsory.
 General rate: 2 1/2% of income annually.
Given only to needy Muslims, or for religious purposes, etc.
And establish prayer and give zakah and bow with those who bow [in worship and
obedience] (Surat ul baqara) [2-43]
4) Sawm: Fast
 In memory of the revelation of the Qur'an.
 During month of Ramadan, daylight hours.
 Those who have medical exemptions etc. should fast at another time.
 'Id al-Fitr, Feast of Fast-breaking: at beginning of next month.
So eat and drink and be contented. And if you see from among humanity anyone,
say, 'Indeed, I have vowedto the Most Merciful abstention, so I will not speak today
to [any] man.' " (Surat marium )
5) Hajj: Pilgrimage.
 Every Muslim man and woman (if physically and economically able) should try to make
the pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in their life-time.
 Egalitarian atmosphere, Ihram:
o donning of simple white garments.
o Refraining from , haircuts, jewelry, arguing, etc.
o Importance of the Ka'ba, associations with Abraham, Hagar Ishmael and Muhammad.
And proclaim to the people the Hajj [pilgrimage]; they will come to you on foot and
on every lean camel; they will come from every distant pass (Al-Hajj)- [22-27]
Conclusion:
In a nutshell, there is no matter of life about which Islam has not spoken either in the
form of verses of Quran or in the form of traditions of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Therefore, whenever there is guidance required by a Muslim regarding any aspect of life,
he or she must consult both these resources before going for any other book or worldly
rule.

That is the best (way) and best in result.” (Al-Isra) Avoiding Fighting And Crimes: In Islam, murder is one of the worst evils that a person can commit, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said in this regard:
  • 4. “When two Muslims fight (meet) each other with their swords, both the murderer as well as the murdered will go to Hell-fire.” It was said: “O Allah’s Messenger! It is all right for the murderer but what about the murdered? Allah’s Messenger replied: “He surely had the intentions to kill his companion.” (Bukhari) Parents’ Rights Allah Says, "Your Lord has declared that you worship none but Him, and that you be kind to the parents. If one or both of them attain old-age in your life, do not say to them a word of contempt, nor repel them, but address them with words of honour. " (Al-Isra ) Rights towards children Duties of Parents in Islam is promoting their religious orientation and ethical approach in order to be armed with both merits. We provide sustenance for you and for them.“ (Al-An'aam) Justice and Tolerance • Glad Tidings on showing kindness to orphans • Rights of Neighbours • Rights of Slaves • Killing anyone unjustly is forbidden • Cheating is condemned in Islam Marriage in Islam • “It is He who created you from a single soul and therefrom made his mate, in order that he may dwell with her (in comfort)." So (make peace and) reconcile between your two (contending) brothers; And fear Allah that you may receive mercy.“ (Al-Hujurat) The Five Pillars of Islam 1) Shahada: Testifying to God's One-ness:  The declaration "There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is His prophet." And your god is one God. There is no deity [worthy of worship] except Him, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. (Al baqara) Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. (Al imran) 2) Salat: Prayer.  Salah (Salat, Namaz) is a practical sign of obedience to the commands of Allah (SWT). Its importance has been emphasized about more than 700 times in the Noble Qur'an. We read in the Qur’an: “establish prayer for My remembrance.” (Ta-Ha 20:14) According to a Hadith a companion of Holy Prophet Mohammad (p.b.u.h) came to him one day and asked him "What is the thing that Allah (SWT) loves most?" Holy Prophet Mohammad (p.b.u.h) replied "The thing that Allah (SWT) loves most is when his people pray Salah on time."
  • 6. Importance of Prayer(salah): IbnUmar (r.a.) narrates: The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) stated the following: “The place of Prayer (salah) in religion is like the place of the head in the body.” (Imam Tibarani) Rasoollullah said “if a man perform ablution perfectly then offers the compulsory congregational prayer, Allah will forgive his sins committed between that (prayer) and the (next) prayer till he offer it” (Sahih Bukhari) The impact of prayer on Individual and Society The praying person always abides by the Islamic morals while dealing with others. He is supposed to avoid insults, lies, backbiting, or saying something evil to others. Instead, he is required to spread goodness and virtues among people. The Muslim, during his prayer, always remembers Allah, His commands and prohibitions. In this way, crimes would be prevented, and peace would prevaile in the society. So Islam urges Muslims to pray in congregation and ordering the lines to spread the spirit of harmony and brotherhood, and instill discipline and order among them. 3) Zakat: Giving charity.  Originally a free-will donation (what is no called Sadaqah).  Now largely compulsory.  General rate: 2 1/2% of income annually. Given only to needy Muslims, or for religious purposes, etc. And establish prayer and give zakah and bow with those who bow [in worship and obedience] (Surat ul baqara) [2-43] 4) Sawm: Fast  In memory of the revelation of the Qur'an.  During month of Ramadan, daylight hours.  Those who have medical exemptions etc. should fast at another time.  'Id al-Fitr, Feast of Fast-breaking: at beginning of next month.
  • 7. So eat and drink and be contented. And if you see from among humanity anyone, say, 'Indeed, I have vowedto the Most Merciful abstention, so I will not speak today to [any] man.' " (Surat marium ) 5) Hajj: Pilgrimage.  Every Muslim man and woman (if physically and economically able) should try to make the pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in their life-time.  Egalitarian atmosphere, Ihram: o donning of simple white garments. o Refraining from , haircuts, jewelry, arguing, etc. o Importance of the Ka'ba, associations with Abraham, Hagar Ishmael and Muhammad. And proclaim to the people the Hajj [pilgrimage]; they will come to you on foot and on every lean camel; they will come from every distant pass (Al-Hajj)- [22-27] Conclusion: In a nutshell, there is no matter of life about which Islam has not spoken either in the form of verses of Quran or in the form of traditions of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Therefore, whenever there is guidance required by a Muslim regarding any aspect of life, he or she must consult both these resources before going for any other book or worldly rule.
