3. What is goal gender equality about?
• Women should have the same opportunities as men and be able to determine
their own lives
• Equality is the assurances of equal rights and privileges, legal equality regardless of
gender, age, race, religion or sexual rights.
• It is in our constitution
• The aim is to give women equal opportunities in all areas of society
• It doesn’t mean men and woman being the same

5. Why is gender equality important to achieve?
• People are not the same, but they are equal
• Human rights are an important principle of any
Democratic society
• Equality increases motivation in the company
• It supports families
• Equality helps in times of a shortage of skilled workers
• It is the right thing to do and the smart thing to do

6. What's the purpose and benefit of reaching goal
gender equality for the world/humankind?
• Men and Woman are paid differently for the same work, there is no equality
• During the Corona period, it was mainly woman who took care of homeschooling
and often had to work for it, that it not equal
• If you look closely at certain situations, you will find out whether
• a certain group of people is treated in the same way as another
• The goal is to achieve more justice and fairness and thus more
• satisfaction for people

7. How do you measure equality and in which unit of
measurement?
o The gender index measures the average gender difference in 19
individual indicators in the areas of education, professional life and
participation in a single number
o To measure equality, it is not enough to identify statistically
ascertainable differences between women and men. Rather, a
conceptual framework is necessary as a starting point, which
defines which understanding of gender equality is to be based and
what equality should therefore be measured in this sense
o It is determined by the European Institute for Gender Equality
(EIGE), an agency of the European Union
o The index is given as a value between 1 and 100, where 100 stands
for the ideal situation in a gender-equitable society

8. Gender equality Goals
o Equality between women and men in society
o Elimination of all forms of discrimination
o Women in management positions in business, politics and public life
o Eliminate all harmful practices such as child marriage, forced marriage and genital
mutilation as well
o Recognize, appreciate and distribute unpaid care and housework more fairly

10. Similarities and differences in the measurements
that countries take to achieve this
• At least one woman on German executive boards
with more than 3 board members
• The Federal Ministry of Family Affairs is committed
to equal rights for women
• Equal rights, equal duties, equal opportunities and
equal power for women and men is also a guiding
principle of German development policy
• The Federal Government relies on self-
determination, for example through better
education and qualifications for girls and women

equality

13. Are we doing our best?
• Germany has been back in the women's
rights committee since 2019
• We can more regulations in the Laws for
gender equality
