This is an Apple Keynote presentation on the anatomy of plant and animal cells. I have made it really easy to navigate. Please not that I do not own any of the images, and I have referenced them all.

4. Cell Membrane
Also called the plasma
membrane, the cell
membrane is the flexible
protective layer around
the cells of living things.

5. Cell Wall
The cell wall is part of
a plant cell. It protects
the cell from damage
and keeps its shape.

6. Centrioles
Centrioles help with cell
division; which is when
one cell splits into two.
They are not found in
most fungi cells.

8. Cytoplasm
Cytoplasm is a semi-
liquid substance. It
surrounds the nucleus
and contains organelles;
parts of cells that do a
specific job.

9. Golgi Body
Also known as the Golgi
apparatus, or the Golgi
complex, the Golgi body
packages and processes
proteins. It is an
organelle.

10. Large Sap-Filled Vacuole
Vacuoles are a type of
vesicle. They hold water
in plant cells. They also
keep the cell upright
with hydrostatic
pressure.

12. Nucleus
The nucleus is the cell’s
control centre. It
controls the activities of
the cell, and contains its
DNA. In its centre is the
nucleolus, where
ribosomes are made. The nanobiotechnews.com
nucleus is surrounded by
the nuclear envelope,
and lets things out
through the nuclear
pores.

13. Ribosomes
A ribosome is the most
important organelle of a
cell. It makes protein.
Ribosomes are found in
all cells.

14. Rough Endoplasmic
Reticulum
The rough endoplasmic
reticulum is a network
used to transport
molecules to specific
places in a cell. It is
called ‘rough’, because
it is studded with
ribosomes. It then feeds
protein into the smooth
endoplasmic reticulum. emc.maricopa.org

15. Smooth Endoplasmic
Reticulum
The smooth endoplasmic
reticulum laid out like a
network. receives
protein from the rough
endoplasmic reticulum.
It then metabolises
these proteins. It legacy.owensboro.kctcs.edu
connects to the nuclear
envelope.

16. Vesicles
Vesicles are bubbles of
water within a cell. They
can fuse with other
organelles, as well as
the cell membrane,
where it can release the
substances it is carrying
outside of the cell.
