2. About me
My name is Emma Buchbinder,
I’m 18 years old and
passionate about making
projects and art.
I currently live in Paris
and study at Penninghen.
I picture myself as a
Communication project
manager and, one day
entrepreneur in the retail
experience online and
offline. I am particularly
inspired by the Miami Design
District.
I plan to undertake a MA in
Design Management after my
Bachelor of Communication
and Digital Media
At
I have lived in many
countries around the world,
Senegal, Morocco, France and
the United States. Learning
about all these different
cultures had a huge impact
on the person I am today.

My unique personality traits is my
open-mindedness to diversity.

This trait of my personality has been developed
throughout my life and also helped me through
challenging situations.
I vividly remember when I moved from Miami to
Casablanca I found it easier to adjust to a new
environment. Actually it was the second time as I
had already to adjust from Dakar to Miami and
learned from this experience. Social media played a
role in keeping me updated with the place I used to
live and in contact with some long distance friends.
Last but not least in Paris, I had to experiment another major change, from the American
education system to the French one. My “system” to adapt easily to another environment is first
to take a backseat approach to analyse the difference, then make some friends to better
understand the subtlety of the communication and finally to “try and learn” to ultimately “fit
in” while keeping my personality. This is another motivating factor to be part of IE, and also a
quality I would be happy to bring to your program.

Living across the world in countries that
are extremely different from each other
brought to my education such important
values. Living in developing countries at a
young age made me aware of the misery that a
huge part of the world has to live with, but
it especially taught me tolerance and
respect. More importantly I learn to go
deeper than the stereotypes regarding Africa
and the developing countries.
On the other hand, living in western
metropoles have been instrumental in my
willingness to conciliate my creative and
business side. I have been able to leverage
the cultural life with museum, exhibition and
the business side through my internships to
make who I am today, but more importantly,
who I want to be tomorrow, a global-minded
communication entrepreneur. I am also
fascinated to notice that creativity
flourishes even more in multicultural
location.
