Ugly is not always ugly
1. Ugly is not always ugly, there is beauty in it
!
We all enjoy beauty. But an appreciation of ugliness is
necessary to it. The beautiful and the ugly are not
opposites but aspects of the same thing. Concerned what
people think about your house? Wish your partner were
better looking? In dieting, getting a tan or going to the
gym, choosing a Weimaraner over a rescue mutt, visiting
an exhibition or shopping at Westfield, we are trying to
acquire beauty to give us a personal competitive
advantage. But don’t worry if you feel ugly, perceptions
change. “Beauty’’ however defined, is not necessarily
attractive. And ugliness is not always repulsive. Beside,
taste change. The tides of taste go back and forth, erasing
aesthetic certainties. This is a truth so disturbing that most
of our assumptions about art are immediately and
ruinously undermined. We get the word ‘ugly’ from an old
Norse word ugga which means ‘aggressive’ hence the
expression an ugly customer. It’s this sense of violence
that is initially disturbing, but this also means there is
much more variety and surprise in ugliness. Beauty is a
sedative, predictable and soothing rather than challenging.
2. Sound of Silence !
We can thought ‘darkness’ as our one kind of friend. He
revisiting to speak with us while we sleep or do nothing at
all. This can most likely be interpreted as a dream to us. It
being a powerful and moving fantasy. In the process of
conveying emotion and feeling, people take different
routes in going about such a task. Some people drew,
some debate and others write people express their
thoughts with words and music, wrote poems and describe
their feelings on politics, love and the ways of life.
Numerous times shows the lack of human communication
in everyday life. Intelligent conversations or friendly words
to one another have been overlooked in society. People
talk to others, they are not saying what they truly feel.
Instead they keep it inside and those kept feelings are the
sounds of silence.
3. Adhar Er O Rup Ache !
Life throws at us dark and long corridors. To each his own.
It could be depression. It could be stressful life events. It
could be illness. Whatever it is that darkens our door is our
own cross to bear but I want to assure you. It will not last
.the pain will not last. It may change. It may change you.
You may learn new ways to cope. But by whatever means,
the universe will bring you to a room with a view. And you
will once again be able to enjoy the light and enjoy the
view. When the darkness has gripped you so tight that
almost all your light had been rung out, you genuinely
thank god for the air you breath. For if nothing else that
this despicable beast does, it humbles you. If softens you
and it makes you more grateful than ever. I think that’s
why Bonkim chondro said in Bengali language , ‘ Adharer
o er rup ache ‘.
