1. Lean Six Sigma is a methodology used in many companies to reduce waste and
eliminate variation to improve performance.
Green Belt is a high quality and internationally recognized certificate proving your
skills in the area. Typically, people get the Green Belt certificate 2-5 years into their
careers and they pay serious money for it. We are providing you with this
opportunity for a bargain and already during your studies. You just have to apply
these skills after the event in an internship at a company and send us the report.
The Course aims to give ESTIEMers the opportunity to obtain a high-quality Green
Belt certificate already during their studies – current options outside of ESTIEM are
both expensive and not focused on students.
What Participants do during the course:
During the event we will look at videos especially made for this course from Gregory H Watson.
He’s one of the world leading experts in this field and trained a lot of other Green Belts before.
The practical sessions will be facilitated by Instructors from ESTIEM.
At the end the participants will already have the possibility to prove what you learned in a case
study. They will use Minitab for it, but don’t worry, the LSS team will provide you with all
necessary information after you get accepted to the event.

Organising a LC Guidelines:
● Give the LSS Central Team time when your LG is interested in organizing a course.
A 3 months notice is our guideline for this notice so that we have sufficient time to meet
all the requirements needed 2 months before the course starts.
○ These requirements are final dates, rooms, all of the instructors needed and
some other information Central asks for in a form ;
● The ratio instructor to participant should be 1:5;
● Instructors: The LG is responsible for finding them. However, central can help if needed.
It is most urgent to find a Head Instructor as soon as possible, since this person will
coordinate the further organization of the course with the Central team and you.
○ A potential head instructor has previous experience in instructing an LSS course
and will coordinate the instructor team during the event. (Need at least one not
aspirant instructor - that has instructed before)
● Online course or partially online are not options, for now;
● There’s 2 types of course model that you can choose from:
○ Week model
○ 2 Weekend model
● A contract is signed before the course, between LSS central team and LG. This document
informs how to handle the materials shared, as well as any PR ou CR the LG wants to
incorporate in the course.
● Covid-19: Central LSS Team has a document with some recommendations on this
matter, however it will differ from country to country. In case your LG sets a date and a
time, and due to restrictions the LG is not able to do the course, it’s okay. The only thing
central asks is to be informed of the matter and know if it’s viable to postpone and
already choose those new dates. Also it is not possible to convert the course to online
even if it would be because of the pandemic situation.
