• What else do you want to see this consortium accomplish?
• What changes can we make internally to do a better job
with the project?
• How can we get your current employees into training
through PLA?
• We want people in internships, what can we do to increase
this use?
• How could we build apprenticeships out of this project?
• Is soft skills training working? Do people who go through
the programs seem better.
• Challenged in filling night classes. When we try to do
incumbent worker training employers don’t want people to
take off work. And employees don’t want to give up nights
and weekends when they don’t see the pay off.
Highlights to date
• 285 Courses developed in 102 programs at
consortium colleges
• 203 Non-duplicated courses developed as open
educational resources (OER)
• 143 courses published to open educational
resources (OER) to share
• 10 transfer and articulation agreements signed.
15 in progress.
• Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) policy developed
and adopted. # colleges and # staff attended
training on implementation

Questions for the group • What else do you want to see this consortium accomplish? • What changes can we make internally to do a better job with the project? • How can we get your current employees into training through PLA? • We want people in internships, what can we do to increase this use? • How could we build apprenticeships out of this project? • Is soft skills training working? Do people who go through the programs seem better. • Challenged in filling night classes. When we try to do incumbent worker training employers don’t want people to take off work. And employees don’t want to give up nights and weekends when they don’t see the pay off.

Highlights to date • 285 Courses developed in 102 programs at consortium colleges • 203 Non-duplicated courses developed as open educational resources (OER) • 143 courses published to open educational resources (OER) to share • 10 transfer and articulation agreements signed. 15 in progress. • Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) policy developed and adopted. # colleges and # staff attended training on implementation

Strategies to accomplish outcomes • Redesign Credit for Prior Learning • Develop curriculum to align with NIMS • Increase transfer and articulation agreements • Navigators improve retention & employment • Develop hybrid and online courses • Develop 3 MOOC's • Build portfolio template for manufacturing • Develop employment skills for CHAMP participants • Build interactive career map • Create internships and coordinate employer outreach

Some Outstanding Work • 13 courses align with NIMS standards at FRCC • CWDC sponsored manufacturing sectors partnerships – mini grants for expansion • 65 courses from LCC, PPCC and FRCC published at the start of the project to OER making them leader colleges • LCC integration of hybrid learning in career education • 95 internship opportunities created. 46 at MSU the most in the consortium!
