companionship.
• there are a few things that you
need to make sure you have in
place to ensure their arrival goes
as smoothly as possible.
3. PREPERATION
• Before bringing your kittens home,
prepare as much in advance as
possible to ensure the kittens
arrive in a healthy place for them.
• Make sure they can explore their
new territory but can retreat to a
safe quit room.
• Separate food and drinking bowls.
• A rug or a soft bed where they can
rest.
4. • A cat tree or a high spot where
they can rest, otherwise they will
search for another high spot
where you might not want them.
• Toys and scratching poles.
• bring something from their home
so they can feel less anxious.
5. Bring the kitten to the vet to check
on allergies and worms. To give
him/her vaccines to various
diseases.
6. KITTEN
PROOF
YOUR
HOUSE
Block gaps in
furniture
1
Keep dangerous
rooms closed:
laundry room,
office…
2
Keep your wires
hidden. They can
bite it or think that
it’s some sort of
toy.
3
Keep your rooms
clean of Trash,
electrical items,
breakables (glass),
plants, and
valuables

7. DONT TAKE AWAY THE
CAT’S NATURAL BEHAVIOR
• The kittens need to have the tools
and the place to play with toys.
8. • Cats are sometimes really
stubborn and feel anxious about
other people. Let them introduce
themselves instead of you
introducing the other people.
9. • Don't let your new kitten get away
with too much! Your tiny bundle of
fluff may be cute, but part of their
socialisation needs to be learning
boundaries and understanding
what is positive behaviour in their
new home.
10. • If your kitten behaves in a
naughty way, don't tell them
off - ignore them for a little
while.. Make sure you
praise their good behaviour
and give them lots of
positive reinforcement
including rewarding them
with playtime and treats.
Most importantly, be
consistent with your
boundaries and ensure
your other family members
are doing this too.
11. HEADING OUTSIDE
• So long as you feel your kitten is
settled and happy in their new
home, you can introduce them to
the garden after they have
reached five-six months of age but
this will depend on the individual
kitten.
