Originally they were owned by ‘Emap’, now ‘Bauer’.
Bauer is headquartered in Hamburg, Germany.

and 50 radio and TV stations around the world.
It was founded in 1875.
Bauer bought ‘Emap’ which meant they bought ‘Mojo’ with it.
Number of employees: 11,000.
5. House Style
‘Mojo’ keep their masthead central and at the top of their
front covers, in almost every edition of their magazine. This
improves brand recognition and demonstrates continuity.
The front covers usually include a well-known artist that is
part of their main genre. With cover lines relating to the
stories inside.
The contents pages of the magazine are quite simplistic.
They feature another or the same artist as well as quite a
simple list of contents.
The Double Page Spreads of the Mojo’s vary quite a bit.
They all feature an image of what they’re talking about –
usually an interview.
Each page has a page number, the website and the logo in
the corner.
6. Convergence
Mojo also has a website, which also contains news and
articles. They’ve had to do this to keep public interest due to
modern-day companies being online and everything being
more interactive. You can get the same information from the
magazine than you can on the website.
7. My Music Magazine
I have done this case study to help me to understand how
major companies work.
Also looking at Mojo allows me to think about what target
market and also features I’d like to include in my music
magazine.
Doing this case study makes me want to target a mass
audience rather than a niche audience. However, I am not
certain of the genre just yet. Mojo has a rock/indie genre
which is a possible contender.
Also, I’ll try to include convergence as all of the big magazine
companies have forms of convergence.
The parent company won’t be as important as It’ll be a one-
off edition.
