As the VP of Engineering, I have the privilege of guiding the development and support of our products, leading software
development, QA regression testing, automated QA testing, and automated load testing teams, using Agile Methodologies.
As the Security Officer for Performance Matters, I establish the policies, procedures, and training for security compliance,
risk assessment, vulnerability assessment and mitigation, confidential data handling and protection, and review of security
compliance contracts, etc. Familiar with compliance to Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), PII, HIPAA, PCI, and other security
compliance standards.
Selected Achievements:
Introduced Agile development methodology training, focusing on development and testing practices, project
management involvement, business requirement communication, and business involvement.
Adoption and adherence to Agile methodologies increased development productivity approximately 50%, with higher
quality and compliance to product requirements.
Restructured the QA department to focus on interactive, automated, and load testing. The result was much higher
quality; with few to no defects in releases, and a reduction in the test verification cycle time. Eliminated bug backlog.
Established the corporate security processes, policies, and training. Worked with key security stake holders to further
mature the security culture, understanding, and compliance of the corporation.
2. Director of Software Engineering
1-800 Contacts, Inc. 2005–2015
Provided technical leadership, direction, governance, strategy, and training to 3 development teams and the QA team.
Coordinated the development of infrastructure and systems to capture all contact lens orders (website, call center, and
external corporate partners), inventory verification, payment processing and security, order accuracy, pick, pack, and
shipment of all orders. Supported the Call Center, Rx compliance department, Distribution Center inventory and fulfillment,
and Finance department.
Selected Achievements:
Increased product sales by designing and deploying IT systems to market, capture, and fulfill all contact lens orders for
Luxottica brands (Pearl Vision, Lens Crafters, Target Optical, Sears Optical, etc.), Wal-Mart, and Sam’s Club.
Directed the integration of the new business, glasses.com. Including the patented “3D Virtual Try-on” iPad app,
showcased in the “Best New Apps” section of the Apple Store.
Dramatically improved the efficiency and lowered the operating cost of the contact lens order fulfillment process, by
designing and deploying automated IT systems to process inventory, order fulfillment, and shipping.
Supervised the integration of a glasses lens lab, to control the manufacturing, QA, and shipping of all glasses orders.
Successfully introduced Agile development methodologies to the company, and trained IT and business analysts.
Authored and established the corporate Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process. Also, involved in Sarbanes

Manager™ (ESM). ESM is the recipient of several prestigious security industry product awards.
